I know it's a famous quote but I kind of feel like a bat would beat a knife, right? Like, you've got more reach and more power, sure if you get stabbed in 50% of your body you're dead, but if you have a bat and someone with a knife is attacking you you can hit the knife out of their hand or knock them over the head or in the liver or kidney 3 feet or so before they reach you with that knife. Before the “New Look” Batman of 1964-an credible more realistic Batman- the 1950’s goofy sci fi Batman fought off weird aliens. For a short time (until the campy Batman TV show spilled into comic books) Batman stories were more intelligently written. This reminds me of those ‘50’s-early ‘60’s wild Batman stories but finally with a mature plot.

Comic book Fandom that critiques Batman with prep time and plot armor. Here's why this is inaccurate. Batman is The World's Greatest Detective, Tactician, and Polymath. Martian Manhunter is a Detective. On the Justice Leauge. With Superhuman Intelligence, Senses, Telepathy, and Precogntion. A perfect storm of every relevant supernatural ability that are inherent force multipliers specific to being the ultimate hyperfunctional Detective. But who's the Justice Leauges Greatest Detective? Batman. This illustrates that Batmans abilities as a Detective are so hyperdeveloped naturally to even beyond the equivalent of Detective abilities of someone with 4 metahuman powers compounded together that directly assist Detective functionality. Same thing with Cyborg, calling Batman the planets Greatest Tactician. Again, this is coming from a Cyborg with futurist extradimensional adaptive technology that is the ultimate tactical machine with every enhancement imaginable that directly acts as a force multiplier in the functionality of being a tactician. Yet Batman is still The Justice Leauges supreme tactician. What you guys who throw around prep time and plot armor do not understand is that for a long time now Batman has been a self made superhuman, with super skillsets equal to Limitless metahuman powers. As a matter of fact, it's only for the novelty of upholding Batman as a street level superhero that Batman has never been permanently escalated beyond that, which is his natural evolution as a character. Why hasnt Batman designed a gravity training center so he can train himself to be Superhuman? Because the writers are intentionally holding him back for the novelty of keeping him a street tier character. Why doesn't Batman have nanotechnology as apart of his standardized suit that defeats the need for him to ever have a specialized suit for metahuman interactions he is just omni prepared at all times? Because of the novelty of keeping him a street tier character that has skills as a super power that only intermittently dons advanced armor. The writers aren't making Batman OP, they are holding Batman back for noveltys sake.
Here comes the plot armor crybabies plot armor exists who cares? Every fictional character in existence has plot armor. Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, and Goku have plot armor just as thick as Batman's. Hell even Superman has plot armor. Plot armor is a meaningless term. Batman has been fighting aliens since the 50's it's nothing new.
Batman should be a noir detective and not a Alien-warfighter. Screw the Hellbat, the final batsuit and Tower of Babel for turning Batman into dollar-store Tony Stark.
