Reminds me of Lego batman. "Commisioner, you have done a good job protecting this city." Gordon: "Yeap. Flip! Thats me!" *mimics pushing the button for the bat signal*
318ironhide Oh c'mon lol the nipples aren't as bad as people make them out to be, they look worse in Batman & Robin and the Bat-Ass shot is...a bit odd, I'll give you that, but I feel like it could have been worse.
Say what you will about the Schumacher movies, but this moment is just filled with awesomeness. That partner hand-shake makes me smile no matter how many times I see it.
It was momentous, even more so as Robin is a grown up and not a kid.i just hate the film didn't show more of Robins acrobatic prowess( Batman never trained him in that skill as ha was already an acrobat). Just wish Val Kilmer had another outing as.Batman.
The best "chin" by far. The movie wasn't that great but Kilmer looked great as the Batman. Clooney's voice was also good but you could tell by his chin it was him in the suit. The suits in Batman & Robin also looked good especially the suits they wore at the end when Gotham froze over..
Val kilmer wasn’t the problem with this movie It was script , story , and character wardrobe/designs The vehicles are all cool except the weird lights and rims Casting was kinda off for some characters But kilmer as BATMAN and jim as riddler was badass actually
@@Bat-talk I hated Jim Carey as the Riddler because he wasn't "The Riddler" I don't know what Carey was trying to portray but it definitely wasn't the Riddler. Same goes for Two-Face. The personalities of those villains were completely wrong. The same goes for Mr. Freeze in "Batman & Robin" but I can let that slide to a degree because no one can deliver one liners like Arnold can.
@@pikkon899 I kinda agree with you, I mean, they weren't the Two Face and the Riddler from the comics, they didn't had their personalities! They were more like the Joker who tried to mocking them! (I'm Italians so English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if I did some grammar mistakes!)
@@stella4072 had the studio wanted that. People tend to forget that Schumacher made dark films prior and that it was WB that wanted something "family-friendly".
@@LordofMovies91 Yep, people always forgot that. It’s also important to remember that Joel initially wanted to make a gritty Batman: Year One adaptation
Look at Gordon's face after he says "Go! Go!" He shakes an officers hand and smiles like an idiot. He's like "well, our work here is done!" Gotham has the best cops
If i was Gordon standing near the Batsignal with a few other cops waiting for Batman to come, if he flew past us, the cops would be roaring "YEEAAAHHHH!!!!" like kids throwing their hats in the air and instead of smiling like my jobs done and shaking one of their hands, I'll be smiling while professionally uttering quietly, "Go get 'em, Wayne!" with my fist up not in the air but just up enough to reach for my head. BTW the second suit up is awesome but it would be been better if instead of ending it with the Bat-ass shot it would end with the cape blown from the camera to the back of Bruce Wayne and turning over to him putting on the cowl and looking up at the light from the top of the cave. Similar to the 1989 movie
Reminds me of that scene in the 1989 movie where Gordon and his crew were at the cathedral and tried to push the tower bell that Joker cut loose from like 50 stories up, so that they can travel up the stairs to get to the Joker. But after a few lazy attempts you can hear him give up and say "welp lets go". And you never see them again for the rest of the scene. No calls for extra reinforcements or a special lift to move the bell. Nope just basically told his fellow cops that's it boys take 5. Thought that was funny
Robin: "Riddler and Two-Face can make a pretty lethal combination. Figured you can use a hand." Batman: "Two against two are better odds." Robin: "I can't promise I won't kill Harvey." Batman: "A man's gotta go his own way. A friend told me that." Robin: "Not just a friend." (holds out his hand) Batman: "A partner." (shakes his hand) Me: (raises my fist in the air) "All right!"
This movie has its flaws and negatives, but come on, the scene where Batman accepts Robin as his partner is awesome. In my opinion, the film's good moments override its few missteps, and that's why I enjoy it for what it is. Shame people continue to lump this movie with Batman and Robin because this film, as a standalone, is a pretty good superhero movie.
gorrow1990 yes very true, it was a huge hit back in 1995 , and actually made more money than Batman returns, and Batman and robin did, it was great for the time, and Val Kilmer, and jim Carrey did a great job, in it.
Niall Hagan Agree and if you watch the first two Michael Keaton and Tim Burton movies those are dark, serious and straight along with the Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale films. The next two Batman movies by Schumacher are light films with the Bat butt and nipples.
One of the best Batman movies period. This was my childhood. Love the 1st 2 Batman and Returns but Forever will always have a special place in my heart always.🦇
This moment was epic, even thought the movie itself had things I didn't like, this was the one scene I couldn't wait for. Batman and Robin becoming partners, and it was a powerful moment and they truly accepted each other as allies and friends. Robin really didn't get much of a fight scene in this movie but I loved this scene.
Val Kilmar was not even a bad choice for Batman. Actually none of the actors used for the cast of Batman Forever were bad choices. Blame Mcdonalds and the toy companies for Batman Forever failing (seriously look it up).
That moment with Gordon shows their relationship. Batman has never let him down and Gordon knows Batman will be there. I think this is one of the greatest moments in all of the original 4 films. This small scene has a lot weight in it I didn’t recognize as a kid.
In this 3 minutes we have the awesomeness of the solar suit ( a real knight in armour vibe), the formation of the iconic Batman & Robin duo, the fantastic new vehicles (that Batwing!), the Batwing coming out of the Batsignal (how iconic is that!) and the incredibly bombastic score from Goldenthal. Those 3 minutes are a comic book perfectly made into a movie and remain forever cool.
+TheNewEmphinix outside, of his batman films, i like some of his films because he doesn't base his filmmaking abilities out of his homosexuality like he did with batman
I mean, these movies are meant to be continuations of Tim Burton's movies, and Gordon was a non-character in them as well. Which sucks. As much I enjoy those movies and respect them, ignoring the iconic partnership between Batman and Gordon is in poor taste. I'm glad that Chris Nolan made the character not just relevant to the story, but also gave him an arc in each film, making him an actual character of his own.
@@antona.1327 Nolan did a very credible job of building a world around Bruce/Batman. We all knew how important Alfred was, but he really gave very rounded roles to guys like Jim Gordon and Lucius Fox.
2:15 almost 30 years later and I'm still sitting here wondering "Did he seriously think Gordon can actually see him giving that thumbs up.......... Wait, DID Gordon see him give that thumbs up?? If so HOW!?"
1:17 I was sitting next to my brother when I first saw this at the theater and I promptly stuck my hand out for him to shake it like Robin did and he accepted it. 2:10 The audience went nuts when this happened! Miss that the later Batman movies never had big crowd pleasing moments like this and the Burton films had.
One of my all-time favourite movie scenes. It's not even the handshake per se that gives me chills but the moment right after the thumbs up. Chills everytime
I LOVE this movie when I was little. LOL its not a great film but to me, the movie has sooooo many memorable scenes/lines and some epic scenes like that scene with Batman flying the Batwing. lol
Same here. I do like Robin had his own gadgets and the motor cycle he had in Batman and Robin but they should've had the Robin costume from Batman Forever
@LegendOfLegends19100 should have used that suit at the end of batman and robin and said that he wanted to become nightwing. (Also loose the Cape and make that suit logo blue, no nipples on the suit and achieve his electric sticks)
Alright admit it yall who saw this film opening day/weekend of 1995, when Robin came down the stairs and they set off to save the day, yall cheered like mad like them Marvel movies. You were all like YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!! BATMAN AND ROBIN! THE DYNAMIC DUO! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!
I watched this movie every day as a kid. It gave me some of the best times of my young life. I used to play with my Batman figures and make my own stories. Kids don’t know these days how good it used to be. Now it’s all video games and shows. We had imagination and the best times as kids.
@@dcspidey1218 Irony is, Batman himself ended up killing Two face 🤣🤣 But Robin ended up becoming a liability. Got caught, and needed rescuing in addition to the person they went to save.
@@chris_t2020 Well I wasn't even a year old when the movie came out. I watched it for the first time on tv years later. Plus they did not sell many Batman forever toys where I am from. I get what are you trying to say though. An it is really a shame that mercandise takes priority over a quality moviemaking.
+GabiN64 Doesnt batman have those already, due of him being in peak physical shape? Two rumors I heard about the muscle suit was A) to show batman's muscular body and strength B) Joel Schumacher was gay, which why the costume showed an almost nude body Im not sure about either though, so don't take my word for it
Val is a good actor yes but he was more a Keaton wanna be with bee stung lips. Clooney did his best as Batman but he is a better Bruce Wayne than Val even Keaton is a better Batman and Bruce than Val
Pat Hingle and Michael Gough held the Schumacher movies in one piece but I hate Jim Gordon in the Schumacher movies went from a good and intelligent cop in the Burton films to simpleton in the Schumacher films
This Gordon makes the Mayor of Townsville look like Jim Gordon from The Dark Knight. At least the Mayor actually tried to fight crime at one point. (Albeit using a hot air balloon and extended punching glove) 😂😂
@@kirbylover37 You're absolutely right about that! See sometimes I just don't like Batman and how he is nowadays, however the telltale games version is okay though.
Chris O'Donnell was badass as Robin. I loved his suit in this movie but what I don't understand is why he didn't wear it again in Batman and Robin. Sure I love his gadgets and his motorcycle but why the hell did he have his suit sport the Nightwing insignia?
Chris O'Donnell was about to do a spin off of Nightwing the movie after Batman and Robin but unfortunately it didn't flourish😢 yes I agree, Chris O' Donnell is amazing. Thank you for the kind words.
this was better than Batman and robin, and Batman forever did really well in the box office back in 1995, Val Kilmer did a great he looked better than Michael keaton ,has Bruce Wayne, and jim Carrey did a great job as the riddler.
I just had a thought. In Nolans movies Alfred is not subtle about how Bruce is crazy. In this movie all you get is Alfred saying “I took the liberty sir.” As he made Robins costume to help Bruce
Lol at Batman flying that plane through those caverns at that speed and not crashing into a single obstacle. Not even the best fighter pilot in the world could fly a plane through so many obstacles at that speed in a hundred attempts.
nas revels Hell, he dodged Darkseid's Omega Beams in an episode of Justice League Unlimited and those supposedly never missed before, even Darkseid was impressed.
chaoticdays he's so badass that his Batcave's exit is just this overlong, difficult and nightmarish dark corridor of obstacles, just to warm up LOL this movie was the definition of OVER THE TOP
You know how most superhero movies have that epic seen where you just feel giddy? I was watching this with my grandmother the other day because that's become our thing to watch old movies and cartoons together. And she didn't remember seeing this one so I decided to show her the entire what I refer to as the Tim Burton storyline of Batman. And for whatever reason when it got to this scene, seeing the disappointment of Commissioner Gordon, and then you hear the whine of jet engines of the Bat Plane and then you see it fly through The Riddler's Question Mark, and Batman looks at Gordon 👍🏾 ....something about that gave me chill bumps that night! So dope! Anybody else have a scene like that in this movie?
My favorite moment to n Batman Forever. Seeing when Robin finally and officially makes his big screen debut. Even though Michael Keaton hated the changes to the Batman movies and exited, the only one line uttered by Val Kilmer that I could actually hear Keaton say is "Who's your tailor?". Robin's debut scene is just as epic as the Shazam movie when Mary, Freddy, and those other kids shout Shazam and turned into the Marvel Family, or Marvel's Iron Man II when Rhodey becomes War Machine and helps Iron Man fight the robots. This was truly an epic moment. I only wish Robin could have stayed with this costume in the 1997 Batman and Robin movie.
Underrated Batman movie. Val Kilmer is also such an underrated Batman and Bruce Wayne, Chris O’Donnell also plays a really good Robin even in the horrendous Batman & Robin movie. He actually outshines Clooney. Kilmers voice in this scene along with the sonar suit is just an amazing Batman look. I always thought he had a really good voice for Batman.
The music is so good and well timed. Would have been good to see Kilmer and O'Donnell do one more film together and take on like a Mad Hatter & Scarecrow.
It's a good thing Batman stash his Sonar Batsuit to a different location in the Batcave or he will have no Batsuits left to wear against Riddler and Two-Face.
I know what you mean, but cmon. Schumahear Batman has a clear inclination for the sense of spectacularity,Nolans Batman is epic in a realistic way,a shot like this gonna look silly in his trilogy. Kids this days have to understeand there are a lots of version of this character, not just in the cinema buy also in the comics. Theres no such thing lika "a real Batman" Excuse my inglish.
