When I truly found out about the Making of Batman Forever, saw the deleted scenes, read the novelization I realized just how misunderstood the film is.
if I remember correctly, almost all the stunts were done by Val Kilmer, precisely because he wanted to be 360 degrees in the role of the character, today I think that Batman Forever is a really good film, and personally I love it, it's a comic that literally comes to life on screen
Sim, Val Kilmer é o batman 😂😂 o único que realmente pareceu. A dificuldade para fazer um filme como esse, para depois vim qualquer pessoa que não entende nada crítica.
These movies are "the end of an era" in Hollywood film making, they're the last "epic" films from a studio that "spared no expenses" with giant sets and the giant model skyscrapers... no studio, or anyone else, ever did the huge sets again, after this everything moved towards digital. Thanks for putting these together, I wasn't a big fan of this movie when it came out, but it really is a incredible looking films, so much time, care and money went into creating the look of this film
i want to give you such a genuine thank you for making your website, especially for the pictures being HD, I love this film so much and i'm happy to see an archive site made for it. its cool to know that people will keep this movie alive FOREVER.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're enjoying the site and channel. This is exactly why I started cataloguing all this for fans like YOU. Keep watching, there's plenty more content coming this year.
@@FKD-ki9vk Just Batman Forever for now. I have some affection for B&R but not the same amount of enthusiasm as for Forever. Who knows maybe when I run out of Forever stuff to cover I might switch over.
R.I.P. director Joel Schumacher. Batman Forever is one of my all-time favorite films (and favorite Batman film) and it's so cool to see a glimpse into how it was made & the day-to-day happenings on set. Simply gorgeous set-pieces! Some are so gigantic! Love the costumes too. :D
@@StudMacher96 No. My favorite Batman films probably are: 1. Batman Forever 2. Batman (1989) ^although those are almost tied 3. Batman & Robin 4. Batman: The Movie (1966) 5. The Dark Knight 6. Batman Returns 7. The Dark Knight Rises ^another almost tie 8. Batman Begins 9. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Didn't rank the DTV films. (like Red Hood, Batman/Superman Public Enemies, etc.) Some are great, but I consider them lesser anyway. I was saying that Batman Forever is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time! ;D Batman 1989 is top 20.
@@StudMacher96 No, I'm pushing 30. XD Not a fan of the Animated Series or Nolan's films. I'm not even a big Batman fan. Only really like the old golden age comics & the Adam West series, Superfriends, stuff like that. I know I'm in the minority on this. As a kid, I was always more into Superman & Spiderman. (love their 90s series, actually & yes, I know the former was done by the same crew as Batman:TAS... but I just prefer it, or the old Fleischer shorts) I just like the old fashioned, saturday-morning cartoon cheese, or the theatrically dramatic, a la Burton's Gothamscape quasi-fantasy aesthetically. The hyper-realistic grounded/gritty & overly-serious style just doesn't do it for me with superheroes who wear their underwear on the outside. It's gotta be tongue in cheek, or fantastical, to a degree, or it just falls apart.
@@1995Batman Batman Forever is my first Batman movie and my favorite. the looks of Gotham city remind me of Las Vegas, because of the neon lights, the circus scenes, and there's a casino too.
I LOVE this movie. First ever movie I watched when I came to the UK! I appreciate the fact that everything is built, nothing is CGI besides the helicopter scene.
Yeah the practical stuff is great. I think actually lots of the Two Face helicopter stuff is a model. They'd shoot that against a blue screen. Then they'd film a camera sweeping through the miniature Gotham. Then they'd just composite the two things together.
@@1995Batman even more impressive! I've seen this movie so many times, they truly don't make them like this anymore! I will never understand the hate this film gets! It's the best Batman film!
This is amazing stuff. I’m fascinated by the filming of the finale scene where chase and robin are held in tubes. Do you have more b-roll footage of that? Would love to see it!
This movie is legit good. I love how it’s not afraid of being lighthearted and goofy, while also giving Batman/Bruce Wayne an actual character and arc, unlike the Tim Burton movies. Those are more goofy accidentally in how seriously and darkly it treats a story about a guy fighting crime in a bat suit trying to defeat a crazed half-zombie woman who dresses up like a cat, a villainous guy who acts like a clown after being disfigured by acid, and a gross guy who grew up playing with sewer penguins as a baby, and later started mutating and acting like one. I think that people who don’t like this movie just hate it because it’s different from the previous ones. They’re too blinded by nostalgia to realize that standalone sequels, like this one, should also be able to stand on its own and not always be compared to the previous installments, and should just be judged by its own merits.
I agree it's (appropriately) a film of two halves. Itsgoofy and light with the Riddler stuff and dark and brooding with the Bruce and Dick storylines. I like the mixture.
Damn, it saddens me to realize that pre-CGI world Mr. Schumacher helped create for BATMAN FOREVER is practically a lost art now. God, the time and effort put into this gem only makes me wonder the kind of world he would have created for Terry McGinnis had he lived long enough to direct the new BATMAN BEYOND film...
There is the Schumacher Cut that has the movie 2 hours and 45 minutes and we the fans are begging and pleading for it to get released. It has alot of good scenes that were cut out. Sure I will always love this movie but blame parents of kids when Batman Returns came out. Number one Batman Returns is not a kid movie and number twwo it was so dark and macabre especially the Penguin parents raised hell and WB decided and told Joel Schumacher to make it kid friendly. Batman Forever to me has the perfect 50/50 balance of light and dark
Which Blu-Ray/DVD version is this footage ripped from? Are all the other videos on the channel from the same disc as well? Curious to see if anyone knows because it would be awesome to see all the footage as it was intended to be and to be able to listen to the commentary that's missing from this footage too as you've put the excellent score over the top of them speaking 😊
It's taken from the DVD that came out in 2005. Most of it didn't have the original audio on it so I took the decision to remove it all and just put music over it.
Thanks a lot for this channel! I'm looking forward for the book Neon Knight Forever 😮 Little by little i'm loving this movie more and more. Maybe you can check my Cut for Batman & Robin it is called The Dark Knight Cut and my intention was to give it a more serious tone
I just want to write that i think it would be a great idea if Warner Brothers studios would release Batman Forever's original 170 minute cut on 4K bluray and dvd. I think it would be a great idea and i think Batman fans would like to see that happen too.
@@1995Batman Awesome! Thank you so much for your hard work, I've been trying to find some awesome Forever footage for a long time and thank God I have finally found it! I can't wait for the new post!
I love Batman Forever. I went to see it for my 11th Birthday in 1995 and I think it's a great movie and I really liked what they did with it and 2 weeks ago, I got a Funko Pop! of the Tommy Lee Jones Two-Face cos Two-Face is my favourite Batman villain and getting a Funko Pop! of Tommy Lee Jones's version of the character was a nod to the past as I got the Funko Pop! 25 years after going to see the movie on my 11th birthday.
I saw it the day before I was starting AIT at Fort Lee and after I graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson and I will always love this flick. The 50/50 balance of light and dark is why I love this movie.
Good news there is a 3 hr darker version of batman forever minus the camp. HBO max Schumachers first cut was in line with the darker burton films with more psychosis and character development.... no drive through. Wb had other plans...and re-edited it to sell happy meals and more toys for family friendly. .. And affleck and keaton in flash movie. They are back... #Releasetheschumachercut
And we the fans want the 3 hour version released on Blu Ray and 4K. I signed the petition with many others. Please WB release the damned version we want!! I will always like the present movie cut but we the fans deserve the 3 hour version
Just shows how a stupid script can ruin everyone else's hard work. Theres a youtube podcast where two guys discuss the original drafts of Batman Forever and it's such a shame that they ended up with this (same goes for Batman and Batman Returns...after hearing the original draft I'm kind of disappointed about what we got at the end)
@@1995BatmanProbably true but probably way better than the laundry scene we got. Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think they filmed the training scene right? I really wish they would release the Schumacher cut as it seems like they explore the inner conflict of Bruce Wayne. But they wanna entertain the sh-tty and overly drawn out synder movies.
No, there's training scenes in the finished film. The script was altered so Robin just shows up at the last minute and Batman hands him the keys to the Batboat. Hopefully if the Snyder Cut goes well (and I'm personally looking forward to it) WB might consider other "recut" movies. I would hold back your expections though - a full version of Batman Forever wouldn't be a significant upgrade but it would fill in some gaps. The best thing to do is track down the Virtual Workprint on Google - it’s a fan edit that incorporates all the deleted scenes from the DVD and reorder the beginning of the film to match the script.
@@1995Batman AT&T apparently is twisting WBs arm to release the snyder cut because they feel they can make a profit from all of this controversy. It's clearly a money grab and a film like Batman Forever means nothing to them as it's constantly panned by fanboys of the new era. But what do I know....I'm kind of biased because I think snyder has a terrible vision and I'm not a fan of FATleck. At most I'll just read the novelization when I have the time. Searching for fan recuts is not really my thing. Thanks for your info!
