not really I think alot of people dont understand her character she may look humanoid but she literally isn,t human and woke up to find herself on a new world. From her perspective, the earth is in fact, wrong. The people, the gravity, the physics, with her new powers, etc. Part of the reason supergirl is a good characyer is that she is like a inverted trope of superman. His transition was seamless because he was a baby and born and raised here. In some interations he doesn,t even know he is an alien until later in his teen years. All of the decades of love patience and grace and TIME that clark had does not apply, and she has a literal instant to adjust to that caliber while not being evil like zod or faora. She has so much rage and awkward adjustment as she remembers her entire world being ripped apart from her

It's like me watching my family die and then I wake up in another country, the culture is different, the people are different, I'm an outsider and everyone knows it. So I tell them that they are wrong and weird in their ways and it's because my parents died where I was raised. Kinda seems backwards don't it?
And the grief too, there’s also something about this the Clark can never fully understand because he doesn’t remember Krypton. She does, and she’s the only one who does remember it.

People need to chill a bit. She literally watched her home world blow up in front of her eyes, Earth is definitely gonna feel wrong for her because its not home. If I was on a different planet which is alien to me, I'd be homesick
But she breaks the sound barrier whilst close to the ground, shows no consideration for humans, and damages buildings on a pretty regular basis since she arrived

@not_someone9348 I think you are kind of right but at the same time she lived most of her life on krypton so she would have learnt how to use her powers but the problem is that krypton and earth are 2 different places so unlike superman who has lived his whole life on earth meaning his powers are probably suppressed anyway, kara has been able to use her powers to a higher potential and earth might not be able to handle that power. So she can't control her powers enough to suppress them
Can't lie, this just proves Batman was right, she never mentioned humans once and just said the planet is wrong, we all know she's emotional and sad and angry but having reason doesn't make her less of a problem
Tbf that's just how characters grow. It's like moving as a child, moving from all your friends and family. That shits hard. You don't adjust and become happy instantly. It takes time.

I reaaaally hated her at the start of the movie but god damn they gave her some incredible character development, like you could FEEL the moment she realized she was wrong about earth. Brainiac is acting just like she is, and everyone thinks hes a villain despite his intelligence on a primitive planet, including her. She realized her hypocrisy in that situation and aptly acted and apologized afterwards to save everyone.
It'd be super sad, but I think she'd finally feel seen. John lost everything just like she did. He gets how difficult it is to try to love a place so different from his home, and how hard it is to accept it as your new one. This is a great idea.

Supergirl destroys people's homes, sure she saves them. But to tell them to go fix it like it's easy is terrible, no one on earth is telling her to "bring back the planet krypton" to her. She knows how horrible it is to lose something forever, but to down play other people's loses is very rude.
@@victor2641 she was already on earth for a while. She had absolutely no excuse for not knowing how advanced or not Earth was compared to Krypton. She simply did not care.

Tbf wasn’t Superman a baby when krypton was destroyed? She actually had to witness as an adult the destruction of her home. So I get where she’s coming from. She still shouldn’t act out against people who literally can’t stand against.

Let me help y’all. Kal-El had to suffer knowing he was the very last of his kind. After him, as is, krypton is done. The LAST SON of krypton. Then Kara shows up and he’s overjoyed. Not only is she from krypton, it’s his FAMILY. SO HE UNDERSTANDS what she’s going through. He didn’t see the explosion, but he had the mission of living after knowing everything he was supposed to know he could only learn from a Kryptonian codex that mimicked his father as the AI. And then all these remnants of his world are showing up to destroy the planet that nurtured and took care of him. None of this depicts that he doesn’t understand what Kara went through. He understands.
He does and he doesn’t at the same time. He knows what’s it like to be a fish out of water to feel how earth can nothing but fragile glass. Like he said “A world made of cardboard.” But that’s all the share, kal never experienced what life was like on Krypton sure he learned but he doesn’t know he never experienced it first hand like her. It’s like learning about a foreign lifestyle but ultimately never having to adjust to it. Versus being forced to adjust and adapt to a world that feels eons beneath you scientifically. Plus the PTSD of witnessing everyone’s she loves death and being forced to adjust to a world that not only feels like cardboard is literally like a Stone Age. Plus customs and so on, she is forced to adjust from everything she once knew. While ultimately Kal had to adjust physically and somewhat mentally she had to do physical and much more mental work.
Hope she gets a happy ending and leave everyone to live their lives without her. “Beggars can’t be choosers” Batman knew how much of a nuisance she is from the jump.
Let's put this in perspective: SHE JUST WATCHED EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE SHE LOVED BE DESTROYED EXCEPT FOR HER COUSIN. When she finally awakens suddenly her only living relative has aged from infant to grown man, and she probably still feels as if that loss were just yesterday. She is still a literal TEENAGER. Faced with suddenly having superpowers that you didn't have a lifetime to learn to control, and none of us would be able to do any better. I'm sure this does feel wrong to her in comparison to the life she lived before. She has to mature and learn to control her powers. That takes time and patience. I don't understand why she can't learn in a safe environment like the Fortress of Solitude.

That’s the equivalent. She needs therapy and sending her away so that she doesn’t kill someone is pretty reasonable imo.

I swear that damn Batdick needs to LAY OFF of poor Supergirl every time!😡 This is kinda like how it went in "Superman/Batman Apocalypse" when he kept mistrusting her at first. She just needed to work on controlling her powers that's all it was🙄
I like that they have very different stories/outlooks, I always thought supergirl was pretty much just a gender swapped Superman. But her story is more about someone missing their home vs Superman trying to fit in as a god in a world he calls home.
No he doesn't, he didn't grow on Krypton, Jor El didn't get to be his father, Kara Zor El wasn't her older cousin. He was fully raised on Earth, under Earthlings, 100% used to earthling culture and history. I don't get how you guys can be so freaking wrong here. She is actually in the right with her comment. Kal doesn't know at all. Yes he was the "last son of Krypton" but outside of superficial lessons on how it was and how his family was supposed to look like, he has 0 emotional attachment to anything there.

Thinking about it a bit more, I kinda understand why she feels the way she does. Clark doesn't remember much of anything about Krypton. He was born there but he was raised _on Earth._ Kara wasnt. She was born on Krypton, raised there, and watched her entire planet and people turn into a ball of lava. With her only living relative being the boy she remembered as a baby. Even though I can understand her feelings, the harm she causes is not great. (....btw whats stopping this version of Supergirl from simply going and living with the Amazons for a while to get used to her strength? It wont be good for her mind but it will at least work with getting her to limit her strength a bit.)
But he doesn’t remembers that planet so he didn’t really loose anything… he’s not grieving Krypton just the idea of it because he was raised on earth since he was a baby and it’s the only home he knows. The one reason he can’t feel part of this world completely are the powers he has, the constant reminder that he “doesn’t” belong to the place he feels like home

tbh its not really cause batman didnt know superman but its more cause superman doesnt go wreck peoples stuff and dont care but supergirl wreck their stuff and tell them to fix themself rather than an apology. at least if she apologise for wrecking it people can forgive her since they know shes fighting a difficult enemy but she tells them to like fix it themself which just piss them off

honestly superman Is an idiot for letting her fight villains. He knows DAMN well that Kara SAW the destruction of krypton and she has new powers and is now living in a new planet. She needs more time to mourn and she needed to stay in the fortress
Honestly I kinda of feel like super girl is just a repeat of Superman story with a bit of change and in comics there's a bunch of lex luthor that are her enemies and it's like Idk I think the writers room must be a freaking mess along with the movies.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that in every single scenario someone critizes Batman for having a backup against everyone is a scenario in which they confirm the very reason he installed the backup in the first place.
Blue beetle becomes Batman's extra sidekick. He supplies infinite amounts of any kind of kryptonite with the scarab lets take gold kryptonite. Batman depowers Supergirl premanantly and now the earth is good.
Hey Hey i know why you'll are commenting hate on her, BUT from her perspective everything around her is weaker than her and everyone is being annoyed or angry with her so she's frustrated, you try to live in a cardboard house trying to just live without breaking it, it gets frustrated. To her Earth IS wrong compared to living on Krypton that's why she said it and doesn't have any malicious intent behind those words.

The part I always hated was the fact she has such a disregard for everyone around her. Like I know that having your plannet blowing up is difficerent than supergirl knocking over your house but she seems more upset that batman hurt her feelings. Than destroying people's homes and nearly killing people. She should know how destroying people's homes would make them kind of feel. Even if she doesn't she doesn't think about what batman meant. His point was that you can't give an 8 year old car keys and say have fun. Superman gave Kara the keys to a city with millions of people. Like batman is like you destroyed an orphanage what the hell is wrong with you hope the orphans find a place to live so they don't die. Batman may be a jerk but his heart is in protecting others superman at this point would know where bats is coming from and he would probably would nkt be a as harsh but I think he would atleast agknowlege the truth that people like their homes not destroyed or ended because a kryptonian had a super tantrum

Clark losing it as a baby means he never knew what it was like to live anywhere else. He was raised as a human, Smallville was his home, Jonathon and Martha were his parents. Meanwhile, Kara has to adapt to effectively doing the Kryptonian equivalent of returning to a hunter-gatherer lifestyle without anyone except her now grown-up baby cousin who she doesn’t really know anymore.
Clark lost krypton when he was an infant he may have been born at krypton but he was RAISED at earth but Kara had all of her friends and family die and worst of all she saw it and she had attachment yo krypton unlike clark
