You should put your seriousness on ice and learn to chill with a cool joke, otherwise you're going to get freezerburned by a lot of people and get the cold shoulder with your icy sense of humor. Also yes, ice puns kick ice.

Idk, I don't think he's that good in this one. The timing is off on some of his lines, and some of them I find him hard to understand. He does look pretty cool though, the Mr. Freeze costume is great.

Joel unintentionally wrote a comedy, and Arnie was the ONLY person In the entire production who realized what it was result: a great performance by a legendary actor unfortunately stuck in the wrong movie!
Actually he intentionally wrote a comedy. The movie was supposed to be a show enterteinment to sell toys for children like a saturday morning cartoon. That's the order Warner Bros gave him after Batman Returns failed to sell enough toys.
The results: • B&R is the lowest grossing Batman movie of all time • A 5th movie that will never see the light of day • Receiving 11 Razzie nominations (“winning” only one, and no, Arnold didn’t win) • It almost destroyed an entire genre

the problem with Mr freeze, that in the TAS of Batman Mr freeze was smash into a vat of chemicals and their give him a motive to be a tragic Shakespeare Charecter we simpyonise with him. but this movie they did keep the origin but he becomes a goff ball character we can't Idenity with. at least the riddler in batman forever at least Bruce restrain Edward of becuase the machine and their the riddler had a motive.
This movie is laughable if you look at it from a serious point of view but if you just relax and go into it while expecting a comedy film, it doesn't disappoint. Besides, it was a dumb popcorn flick for kids in the end anyways!

Maybe this is the reason why I liked this movie as a kid. Bonus points for having the best actor of your childhood deliver these chillingly shocking puns.
I liked it because it really feels like a comic book, all the other Batman movies take themselves so seriously. Its fun to just revel in the one liners and the crazy outfits.

I don't blame him or the cast for the way batman and robin turned out. I blame Warner Bros for what they did. I believe he tried to go darker with Mr freeze but Warner Bros wanted to make it even campier so they let the franchise be put on a hiatus for 8 years.

Gillian Quigley well we don't know for sure but the most widely accepted theory is that a giant meteorite smashed into Earth and caused the extinction of the dinosaurs and by extension some other creatures that they live with, such as elasmosaurus, some forms a Pterodactylus, and etc.

Honestly, this wouldn't be so bad if it happened before Batman The Animated Series, where they basically saved Mr Freeze by turning him into a tragic villain with a deep backstory. The fact that he went back to being a campy mad scientist in this movie is a real step backwards
I don’t understand why so many hate this movie. I do enjoy watching it. It’s not perfect but it is still a fun ride,especially when all we get today is trash.
The inner movie critic in me will give this an F. However, my entertained self will give this an A. I mean, these ice puns are so unintentionally hilarious and quotable, as bad as they are. :P
Well, Arnie was one of my favorite actors when I was a kid and while his performance of Mr. Freeze was laughable (but then so was the movie), I can't help but laugh whenever he spouts one of his ice-related puns.
I’ve always thought that this design for Freeze works really well. The blue glow makes for a cool aesthetic as well as the blue glow that appears in his mouth in that last close-up shot.
To be fair, what Arnold roles *aren't* at least partly comical? Like outside the first Terminator movie, his most violent films tend to have him make amusing lines.
@@IsmailofeRegime Even in the first Terminator movie, one might argue Arnie uses a bit of humour, like when he was in the gunshop and asked the man for a plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.
I came for the cool puns, did not leave disappointed or feeling out in the cold. :) Arnold was the best thing about this movie. Too bad Mr. Freeze's wife was frigid.
You can see they took a few pages from the POW! WHAM! TV series; it's a rather... tongue in cheek take on the Caped Crusader. They couldn't even find strong lines from Clooney for the trailer. Hahaha
I loved this movie as a kid not realizing how the critics hated it. Watched it again as an adult and got a good laugh while remembering why I loved it as a child. It's just a dumb popcorn movie for children.
