Finally, The Andy-Force has awakened. Batman was made in opposition to Superman, by all rights he should be the Punisher, the fact that he doesn't kill while still being a normal mortal arguably makes him the most Super Heroic character of all time in comics, add the mind of sherlock the detective to the mix and a really great outfit even in the late 30s.
I want to see a story called "One Last Knight" where it's similar to the last ronin, one bat family member is left called the Gotham Knight and they have to fight the court of owls who took over all of Gotham and killed/converted the bat family
Yay!!!! I missed this show, I’ve been watching you guys for years. Since late 2017 I’ve been watching his podcast and all of its iterations. You guys have made car rides to college more fun and have made me laugh in times I needed them. Thank you for still doing making new episodes. Stay cool guys!
Im the same way! I got into these podcasts around the same time while struggling in college. I’ve loved all the incarnations but I miss the classic RNBE/Tales of Earth era.
One reason Batman does so well I think is that Batman comics cover multiple genras. You have detective work, magic, scifi, mystical, romance occasionally just so many different types. Also, for Batman contingency, I feel like I read a comic once where Batman said that Nightwing was his contingency, that Dick would take him down, or at least organize taking him down, if he crossed the line.
So glad this is back on the menu I love Dan and Andy's takes on comics as Benny moderates and flings Comics knowhow and whatever he has laying around at them both.😄
Its the problem with almost a hundred years of lore, retcons and reveals piling on top of each other. Thomas being a doctor I believe is a later addition. The original intention was probably that Thomas is a business man, and Wayne Enterprise is his business company and Martha is probably just a housewife, since its the 30s and 40s. That obviously changed.
One time Batman did piss himself, in year one when he set off the bomb in front of the crime family's dinner a writer rettconed that the explosion create a Shockwave that went to his bladder passing himself.
I think Batman does so well because he has the most consistancy quality wise especially post Batman ‘89 gave him the boost popularity that it did. So with the quality and the popularity boosted the way it did Batman never really downsides.
I have the issue but it’s in storage. So I can’t say what the issue number is, or if maybe he said it in a Justice League issue. I do think it’s pre-New 52. Batman power naps. He takes 20-30 minute naps to feel fully recharged.
There was a batgirl story where someone was on death row and she was trying to stop everyone in the city from dying. So he broke into prison to stop it because it was going to be in a gas chamber but the mother of the daughter the man had murdered talk her out of it. And there was a few panel where you watched the gas get filled into the chamber and him trying to hokd his breathe. It was during that run Cass was batgirl.
I wish they would go back to filming this live, inbetween filming the shows Andy is one of the most RU-vid unfriendly people I've ever seen. In a good way not in the "I can say whatever I want so I'm going to say the most garbage insulting things I can come up with." It's more the sort of thing you expect to hear at a roast.
Ok one shot Bruce enemies were or are his family would be fucking amazing! Nothing even close!!!!!!! You never hear about any family or distant family.
