Batman's BONKERS Time Travel Story 

It has come to my attention that The Black Pirate is a real DC Comics character from decades ago. The "That's original" bit was improv and I never thought to do research on it. Admittedly, my pre-Crisis knowledge isn't as good as it should be, but it's legitimately cool that Grant Morrison incorporated him into the story. Thank you so much to Randy Jackson for pointing that out.

This one's less "Because Comics" and more "Because Grant Morrison."

Long ago in a distant land, I darkseid, master of darkness unleashed an unspeakable evil! But, a foolish detective wielding a special gun set forth to oppose me. Before the final strike I flung him into the past where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the future and undo the future that is darkseid!

For the first half of the video a comic story arch made actual sense (as much as it can). Then we find out that an evil god from another dimension was behind creating Batman....... Cause comics

Honestly the artist probably had fun illustrating batman in different costumes through out history :) ... the covers for this crazy story were pretty cool :3

Yes, finally someone who doesn't think Morrison is the greatest comic book writer. I'm really having hard time getting through his justice league run.

Imho Grant's run of Batman is the GOAT. It's the perfect example of how to kill someone and bring them back in the same stroke of a pen. It's a love letter that covers everything from the silver age, to No Man's Land, to the present era, Beyond, and back again! I love every part of the run, from Batman and Son to Black Glove all the way to Batman Incorporated. You did such a good job retelling this story and what all was going on during it, because you're right, a lot happened during it! Grant Morrison is my all time favorite writer! I love this run so much!!!! It furthers a lot, especially by establishing that Wayne Industries is more or less the equivalent of what the West Indies Trading Companies would be if it was still around, then Scott Snyder, Peter Tomasai, and Tom King have been building of Morrison's run ever since, with Snyder's Gates of Gotham and Tomasai's Batman & Robin, I love everything that Grant did, there's a reason it's referred to as "The Bat-Epic," you really surprised me when you said you didn't like the books, because you did an AMAZING job covering them! Thanks for creating such a great vid!

Wasn't a fan of how Metal ended, but everything that happened before the Element X metal appeared was crazy good. Especially the nightmare Batmans' origins.

Am i the only one who thinks this is the coolest and most creative shit ever? Batman jumping through time unknowingly being followed by a creature, making various personas and living different lives creating events that would affect his later adventures? That sounds awesome!

I think you kinda missed the meta idea of Batman spreading his influence everywhere. It's supposed to symbolize how important Batman has become not just I'm the comic world but in ours as well. There will always be a Batman because he is simply a necessity at this point

I’ve always had this question when it comes to Batman’s continuity. In Final Crisis, Darksied “killed” Batman who went back through time (I know it’s weird, but I don’t think it’s that bad). This story and the events that occurred after Batman’s “death” happened in the “Post-Crisis” timeline. Then the “New 52” came along and surprisingly most of Batman’s recent history was intact with some changes. This means that Batman’s time journey and period of “death” still happened. But this raises the question on *how* it still happened. Did Final Crisis sort of happened in the New 52? How does that work?

So is there a exact reason why Darkseid's omega beams sent Batman back in time instead of killing him instantly?

so bruce did a quantum leap and became a bomb, then bat inc, but bruce survive, even though the radiation is gone , he had omega sanction power, if bruce could use and harness, and keep the omega sanction safely that would have been great, because comics , this kind of remind me of the blue marvel, or molecule man powers in marvel comics
