Fun fact: The Doom Patrol actually pre-dates the X-Men by a few months. It’s truly fascinating how a team of superpowered Outcasts led by a guy in a wheelchair were created practically at the same time, it’s almost suspicious.
For a long time Doom Patrol’s creator wrote it off as coincidence but turns out back then there was a lot of back and fourth between creatives at both companies Very possible Stan ripped him off
@@MarkGuerrero-cz9bh The sheer number of characters and concepts MARVEL has lifted off of DC over the decades is truly staggering. In contrast, the majority of times that DC has made a character or element similar to something from MARVEL, it was usually a deliberate homage/parody.
There were a few failed attempts to revive the Doom Patrol comic after they were killed off. Although outside fo Robotman, all the characters stayed dead until Grant Morrison’s run
@@RealFatherJohn yup they died in 1968 then they tried to revive it with an all original line up in the 70's led by the chief's wife. It was never went anywhere beyond a 3 issue story in an anthology book and some guest spots in New Teen Titans and other books. Turned out Robot Man's head survived so he was given a new more high tech body. Then in the 80's the book got revived, was not great and was more standard superhero stuff. Wasn't working, then Grant Morrison took over the book and brought the original team back.
So we've seen Batgirl, Robin (now Nightwing), and Bat-Hound in the series. My life would be complete if we get to see Alfred before all is said and done🤣. The only thing I know about the Doom Patrol is that BeastBoy is a member, and that knowledge is from watching Teen Titans so my fake fan might be showing💀. That hostage situation they had in Paris made me wonder what exactly was going through their heads in the moment😵💫. I really thought they would have had some sort of plan to handle it but they just ran directly towards the guy🤯. Maybe they thought his reaction time wasn't as fast as theirs or something, I wouldn't take the chances. Crazy they got taken out in their just appearance💐🕊
Wait, have we not seen Alfred yet. I could have sworn we saw him. They didn't mention beast boy at all, tragic.😢 rip the doom patrol, some real heros til the end.
The Doom Patrol always had the most bizarre yet terminally awesome villains ever. Also a lot of people see them as an X-Men wannabe, but the truth is, they debuted first.
Pretty sure at this point Cartoon Network didn’t care about the show, they stopped showing commercials for episodes and they didn’t even bothered watching them, so the creators were basically allowed to do anything, also from season 2 characters will die and never come back, like for example the doom patrol never shows up again
I remember Cartoon Network outright announced Batman Brave & The Bold's cancellation out of nowhere despite the huge success of Season 2. I remember the online response vividly. Fan backlash was so overwhelming and intense that CN begrudgingly ordered a third season, though seemingly out of spite they only ordered 13 episodes instead of the 26 that the first two seasons got. For whatever reason CN has always had this bizarre unwritten rule where all of their action/superhero shows only get two seasons and then they drop them. The only reason we even have four seasons of Justice League TAS is because Bruce Timm and company essentially rebranded and restructured the series enough that CN was convinced that it was a new show. Television execs are so damn stupid sometimes. I really don't understand their thought processes.
Fun Fact: When DC brought out the Doom Patrol Comics they didnt sell so well because they were really really weird (people who saw the live action show understand what I mean). Yet Marvel found it interessting and some author were inspired to make there own version of it which was way more popular by the reader. You may heard of Marvels version it calls: X-Men. In other words without Doom-Patrol we might never had the X-Men so respect the Doom-Patrol.
