I can't wait to visit Battery Bluff Park! Well done San Francisco. All highways throughout the world should be covered with parks, especially the highways within city borders.
I came here in 1956. I was 5. Father worked in the presidio till the late 70's. Countless trips there from the Avenues and then Daly City. It's a time warp out there. Lucas Arts was a great development that kept the vibe, and has it's own park.
I no longer live in San Francisco, back from Asia I'm currently in Seattle. This area of the Presidio was my running path every morning that I lived in LPH. The hideous Embarcadero came down after the 89 quake and that preceded my time there, coincidentally I worked in marketing for the company that ran the developments including Lucas and Pixar. Now this development. Absolutely beautiful! The exact same team of architects built the viaduct here in Seattle and thankfully it was demolished two years ago. Unfortunately covid-19 has stymied the flow of tourists and economically the waterfront is not coming back from the construction issues... But someday soon, hopefully, Seattle's waterfront will look like this vast Improvement!
Great park, but it took so long to build that the original architect of it died before he could ever see it completed. The sad state of construction in the U.S. today. If this was China this park would've been built in 2 months.
@@JEK No one is forcing the laborers with a gun to their head to work in construction. Better than being homeless. Because labor practices are bad you rather wait until you're dead before one extra subway stop is built?

@@damnmuggle Been there. Great view. But if the trees are not kept pruned, the view would eventually diminish. In the event of budgets shortfalls tree maintenance tends to get hit. I am avoiding the obvious pun.

Common misconception...the homeless actually avoid our city parks because they get harassed by raccoons and coyotes. Homeless prefer alleyways, freeway underpass, abandoned properties

Nice concept; however, the attitudes of people during these times have not changed. And they will continue to decline....looks like all the comments here agree. Homeless, thefts/robberies, etc. Lawless people have to be removed before life can truly be enjoyed to the full.. Our Creator has been very patient. But soon, as promised, those people WILL be removed. Psalm 37: 10,11 and Proverbs 2: 21,22. What a relief. And the homeless problem will not exist. Isaiah 65:21, 22
Looks pretty ugly, all they did was make some paths and put some bark on the ground...looks like an elementary school park. An 8 year old could do better than the a landscape designer who worked on this
That looks nice (I have family in the City but not planning to visit anytime soon). Just don't get any ideas to start planting trees. It will wreck the view.
Not the “most iconic bridge” because we do not have a scale which measures degrees of iconicness. The GG Bridge is iconic. So is the Brooklyn Bridge. And the Tower Bridge. And the Charles Bridge. And many others.
