In this video, i am demonstrating the matlab simulation of a battery charging circuit. the battery is charged form solar using buck converter with mppt incorporated. i used the perturb and observe algorithm for the MPPT. Thanks for this tutorial video sir, I have a small doubt the battery is charging very slow so i tried increasing the run but the simulation time to complete the process is taking so much time. So then i changed the sample time in Powergui block by this simulation runs faster but the mppt block doesnt reach Vmpp faster what can ba done sir? should i change any values in code or any other way?

it's on the beginning of the video, u can see the specification and calculate it (mostly in each pv datasheet), or in the product of V*I in the simulation

@@angelasembiring just try to find ur pv specification and find the Vmpp, Isc, Impp, and Voc, and how many cell did the specification provide, and input the variable to the formula

capacitor will always have ESR (equivalant series resistance)

Hello,can anybody explain why we use buck converter? I searched and it steps down the voltage..So why we still needs a buck converter if we already using a mppt controller which converts extra voltage to currents?

could anyone respond me??? why input capacitance in case of buck converter is too large?? like here in this video it is 1000 micro h. but in case of boost or buckboost its within the range of 200 or 100 micro henry

Yeah I have this exact same question. From his parameters, he has V_out = 12V and V_in = 28V. Moreover, the duty cycle equation I have come across is D=V_out/V_in ..... D=12V/28V= 0.42857 ...... So how come he has 0.95? I've checked his previous video but he hasn't explained why he put 0.95.

Hello Can I ask ,I am a student and I made a simulation of solar powered vehicle using a PV array, Boost converter and DC motor with battery. But the simulation result were wrong, that it gave a high amount of the output current as also the torque even though that the curve of speed is correct. Can you advice me what should I change!

because the characteristic of battery lead acid in "simulation SIMULINK" show the negative current is charging, and the positive current is discharging. you can proof it on the "search documentary" on the top right of the Matlab, and type "battery". you'll found it
