Amazing! Keep that going! I was trying to get my garage heated from using a small heater exactly like that one and unfortunately the thermostat I was using couldn't handle the polarity being reversed and when I bought the thermostat online I swear they said over voltage protection, protection from this and that and nope! It's a shame because the thermostat was so affordable for 7$ and just an extra security feature would have been great because as you can tell you already know wiring when your tired anyone could put the clips on wrong because the plus and minus at least on a 12v car battery is labeled in dark colouring the same as the battery. Well cheers and hopfuly this will work out for your shop

The world's has all this technology and can't create a heater to run without draining a battery. Lol

I build one myself and it works pretty decently. Used a 24v (180w) car heater from Amazon, cut the cable and replaced the ends with connectors. Then I connected these to the positive and negative terminals of a cheap 20v 2Ah drill battery from Action (probably similar to the Aldi one). It works for about 15 minutes per battery. I use it to quickly warm up the car when camping in colder weather and it does a decent job at that :)

I learn something on every video as you take so much time in the procedure and choice in presentation. Of course you have probably heard it said many times I appreciate hearing you’re explanations. Thanks!

So to have an approximate idea (a rule of thumb method) calculate the room volume in cubic meters, then divide by 20 to get the heat required in kilowatts. So a room that measures 10 meters in length, 5 meters in width, and 2 meters high will require approximately 5 kilowatts of heat.

I was wondering why there was no such thing as a battery powered heater. I managed to find cordless heaters but they were mains direct connected, duh. Big Clive hasn’t done one yet. Canadian Prepper (both on RU-vid) is epic with solar powered battery systems. Great video, thanks for taking your time putting this together. 💯👍

Thanks for the video. This gave me the ideo to buy a PTC heater and make a Lithium Ion battery pack to more quickly defrost my windows in the winter. While my trucks heater works fine and all in the winter I use more gas defrosting my windows than it takes for me to drive the 1 mile home at 4:30 am from work. Using more gas to defrost windows than it takes to drive one mile kinda bugs me even though it's a minor thing. Over time this setup would pay for its self in gas savings for sure. 👍😁

I reckon you would need around 400 to 500w of solar just to keep the battery charged enough to use it, 20amps will drain a 110amp hour leisure battery in about 3 hours and take a lot longer to recharge battery. Nice little hester for the twizzy though.

Great video. I'm a shift-worker forklift driver by profession and the temp drops down to 4-5C during the winter nights. I'm building something similar to run intermittently with the plastic rain curtains down to make things a little more comfortable.

why don`t youbuythe infraret heating film (12v)? it is quiet and more effective - you can put it under the floor mat, or to the ceiling.

Each layer of 8mil Poly plastic effectively moves you a weather Zone toward the South. Adding that material to the walls would result in a necessity for considerably less heat in a given area.

Thanks. Got 360W of solar on the roof of the insulated summerhouse and 2x200Ah acid battery banks.

I got a heated seat like you have for my Outlander PHEV to save power for the up coming winter. It work for about 5 minuets, burnt out the fuse. Might do something like what your doing.

I have two of the “useless” products you listed and they work well in my truck. One keeps the windshield clear and one heats the cab (road pro). One is wired direct to the battery. It takes the edge off for sure.
