In this video, Phil explains how BoatRx takes an air-conditioning first approach to solving the power equation onboard. By pairing the extremely efficient VRV8 air conditioning system with Mastervolt Lithium batteries, a high-output alternator, and a Whisper Power generator, this yacht owner can achieve 24-hour air conditioning on just 5-6 hours of engine run time each day!
The sum of multiple improvements to Termodinamica’s VRV air conditioning line-up has resulted in the development of the new VRV8E1 compressor. The power efficiency is almost unbelievable! The system can provide 36,000 BTUs at a maximum power consumption rate of 1.5 kW. When maintaining the temperature of the conditioned space, the power consumption will drop to .5-.8 kW. This greatly benefits the consumer because the low power consumption enables the system to run from a battery source rather than a generator.
