They're an awesome mower, with one downside, the batteries suck. I own one, and the lead acid batteries in these will not finish my 1 acre lawn. For $1500 I upgraded to Lithium so if you can get one cheap -- it's worth upgrading.

It always cracks me up when lawn tractor owners upgrade to a zero turn mower and still follow the same riding mower pattern to mow their lawns. I guess they learn at some point!

I like those kind of decks with the 4 wheels you put the deck to the height you like and then put the wheels as low as they will go so the deck floats over the ground over hills and are a good place to put the cut line.

The deck doesn't ride on the wheels, that's just last resort to keep from scalping or dragging. The deck actually hangs from the mower. Thanks for watching.

I found that the blades from the factory were not as sharp as let’s say I like it😳………..the guy at the mower shop got all my blades super sharp(even better than what I could do)were when you just touch th you feel like you don’t wanna push to hard or you’re gonna cut yourself, that helped a ton with cut quality!

If they used Li-Ion batteries instead of lead acid, and it was under $4K, it would be worth it. But for $5K, and having to replace the batteries every 1-2 years, it's just not worth it IMO.

that will depend on how the batteries are took care of. Just like golf cart if they are kept up on a charger and kept indoors like a shop or garage then they can last several years if left on low and outside in the weather then maybe a couple years. Terminal grease is a must also to prevent a lot of problems.

Replacing 4x 12v lead acid batteries is cheaper than replacing Li-ion packs. If they are leisure batteries which, by design, are deep cycle units, then they take well over 1,000 full drain and recharge cycles and when they do die, you can replace them with higher amp hour batteries to increase run time. The batteries are the same tech that are used in mobility scooters so will last way more than a year.

LA batteries can last 6 to 7 years or more sometimes if you care properly for them. If you regularly run them really low or don't follow proper charging procedures it will cause premature degradation. Although lithiums are less susceptible to this, they still can degrade faster if they are abused.

Used mine last year and stored it on the charger for the winter in a garage where the Temps stayed liveable. First use this year and was able to get 1/2 an acre done before the batteries were dead. Takes me 3-4 days to cut 1 3/4 acres this year. Ryobi says batteries are out of warranty (1 yr warranty) and with the volt testing that it needs new batteries. 4 batteries at $300 a pop. I can't see myself doing that every year or so. Buyer be warned! Lots of reviews from a year later say the same thing...

great video.. Hard to get away from the 20k zero turns then step onto a my crappy but still $2k husqvarna rider after working for a professional landscape company. Glad to see Ryobi is doing things i wished came out a long time ago like brushless motors instead of the high prone to failure hydrostatic drive motors. One thing that I question is blade strikes? What is the spindle setup with the brushless motor? ..Also for the love of god.. homeowners stop mowing in circles. I know to each their own, its faster blah blah, but for the extra few minutes the lines look 10x better. lol

Have you reviewed the Cub cadet zero turn that's battery powered? I was just curious the difference. I agree with another person that I think the proof in the pudding will be how they hold up over the years. I do like the idea that you can drastically cut your maintenance down, but I still wonder how they will last over multiple mowing seasons.

Would love to see a comparison between this and the Hustler zevo. They both share a similar battery setup and design, the Zevo has a 42" though.

Lead acid batterys have a 1 year life usually. So if they have a 1 yr warranty they will probably be done after a year. You can get 3 year warranty batteries

It was, the shipping company actually did that. They busted up the crate pretty bad. Thankfully, there were not parts bent, but the metal crate was in rough shape. Thanks for watching.

For 5K I can buy a really nice gas one. And lead acid battery decent attempt but need to get the price point closer to a consumer grade zero turn then they may have something

I've watched a few reviews of these Ryobi mowers and it seems significant loss of charge capacity over one year is an issue. I can't understand why Ryobi didn't use li/ion.

It definitely seems like they were trying to hit a price point by using lead acid batteries. Seeing as you aren't supposed to discharge lead acid batteries below 50%, why would they put them in a mower.
