This is an upgrade that I've been wanting to do for a while. How to install a 30ah battery in the Can Am Maverick Trail battery bracket can-am.brp.com... Battery I used www.oreillyaut... other battery option www.amazon.com...
I did the same thing to my Maverick Sport. The stock joke of a battery went dead after 30 minutes of listening the the stereo while parked. Went from 18 amp hours to over 30 amp hours.
I added a second battery with a battery isolater connected between them. The second battery is the same size as the original mounted next to it. The OEM battery controls all the Polaris OEM Wiring. My second battery controls the electrical circuits I added. Including fuses and relays and switches. If the OEM battery fails I push the connection button on the isolater and the secondary battery supplies power to the starter. I own a 2019 rzr trail 900.
Another good vid. Just did the same upgrade with a Yuasa YUAM6230X YIX30L-BS Battery 100bucks Amazon. Never an issue with the stock battery but... running a winch for the plow and lights and all so wanted a bit more juice. Also fires up better in 0 degrees than the stocker. Think spring!
I don’t have one yet this is most likely the machine I’ll be getting regardless I wonder if there is a place on that machine where you could take the first battery and mounted isolated since you’re already on it it’s cheaper than one of those jump starters which are 70 or 80 bucks anyway I would feel more comfortable with an isolated battery as I have one on my own vehicle and I’ve never gotten stranded having a second battery, I’ve even been in the situation were the second battery was the only one working as I had a bad cell and it got me home middle of winter I was thankful. I would love to find a place to stuff another battery on that machine even if it’s smaller than the original as long as I could get the machine started with cranking amps I would not care. The great thing is you just hook up a battery maintainer for winter and both batteries are maintained can’t beat that!
You could probably fit two stock sized batteries in the factory location. Haven't really measured, but I'll bet it could work. There's quite a bit of room in there. 👍
The factory battery lasted less than 12 months (kept on a Battery Tender 90% of the time it was parked) in my '18 X3 Xrc Turbo R. Replaced with an Odyssey PC925LMJ. Bracket from UTVInc.com .
Aren't the terminals on the opposite sides of the stock battery, positive on stock is on right, positive on PC925 on left? Was there a problem with the wires and cab;es reaching?
Links are in the description, not sure why they aren't showing up. Amazon had a few that I considered, but it's been so long I don't have the links. I've had good luck with the Super Starts. I've had one in my ATV since 2016 and it's still doing well. 👍
How's your battery doing 6 months down the road ? Still kicking strong? I think our factory battery is on its last leg about to make a upgrade just trying to hold off till this winter.
So far so good 👍 I still feel like it was a good mod. Not sexy, and really not noticeable in how it starts or anything else, but it gives me peace of mind.
