Yes, you are meant to wait for it to cool before adding more water. The tank is quite large though, so the water lasts for quite some time.

I haven't had any problems with that, but then, I live in a soft water area. However this iron they say is fine to use tap water with. Apparently they have solved that problem, and claim there is no longer any need to use filtered or purified water, like many other steam generating irons. Take a look at the Tysew company online, which is where I bought this Iron. I believe it says something about it in the description if I remember correctly. 🙂

The data with the iron states "External heating element that prevents the build-up of limescale.".. but that just means it builds up on the bottom of the tank and fires out of the holes.. I'd still use distilled water, or, if you have it, reverse osmosis filtered water if you do alot... you can get 40 litres, for £38, delivered.

Its fantastic on silk, I've been ironing silk alot lately. It comes with a soleplate for delicate fabrics, but I've been ironing silk without just fine! Always do a test piece first though. 🙂👍

This iron is great because it does not have to have distilled water, unlike many other professional irons, you can just use tap water.🙂👍

Can you refill the tank with water when it's ran out or do you have to let it cool down? If so, how long would you have to wait? Thanks
