This is a cover of Battle ~Da'at~ by Ryota Kozuka from Shin Megami Tensei V & Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. I have remade the track in the style of Shoji Meguro's rock battle tracks around the PS2 era of SMT games, as if Shin Megami Tensei V released on the PS2 in the mid to late 2000s.
To celebrate the release of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance today, I thought I would cover the battle theme that you'll likely hear the most in Shoji Meguro PS2 Rock style. Ryota Kozuka's style is very different from Shoji Meguro's in that he has plenty of little flourishes throughout his tracks that Meguro often doesn't, meaning I have to find a balance between the styles when making the conversion. Luckily, this track is relatively simple, guitars are rampant, the vox synth has been replaced with piano and organ has replaced the synth pad in the B section. In the same section, there is a droning synth which gets pitch bended often, so I tried to replace it with a similar synth used in tracks like Title Loop 2 and Staff Roll from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Speaking of which, I also added some custom Nocturne -style vocals in place of the chanting in the original song! I used TTS Albert with some effects just like the original to narrate some KJV Bible verses from Genesis and Revelation. I tried to keep it very authentic, so I hope it turned out okay.

I'm one of the people that loved the original Shin Megami Tensei V, so I'm excited to get my hands on Vengeance and see what's new. I'm keeping an ear out for any new tracks to cover as well.
