When your car spins essentially whats happening is the back tires, being the powered tires, break loose and spins making the back end try to " outrun " the front end .. To get this in check on a rear wheel drive car you need let off the accelerator .. But in a car with big slicks if you just dump of the accelerator you'll compound your issues because this makes the car more unstable.. The trick is to let off enough the tires stop spinning but not so much you induce even more instability with the whole big slicks and weight transfer that happens when you dump iff the aaccelerator. then push back into it fast enough the car bites and gets traction but slow enough it doesnt induce a spin again... So in short peddaling your car is a dance you perform to make the car stop spinning and catch traction again. This may happen several times going down the track.. The goal being to slow the back end of the car down enough the forward speed of the front tires make the path stable again. Then get back into it and continue racing. If you get back into it and it spins again and your start to lose control you start peddaling again In a rear wheel drive car when the back tires break loose it essentially splits your car in two peices across the Middle width wise.. The back end is spinning so the tires are moving faster than the front ones. Becuase the front tires are dependent upon the back tires to push them.. This is fishtailing. That's what you see when these cars are allover the place going down the track. The battle of drag racing isnt all power. Its about putting down as much power as possible , evenly and keeping your car straight , straight being the shortest path to the finish line, and not spinning or swerving..

Always think of fishtailing as " backend trying to outrun the front end". In rear wheel drive the power comes from the rear wheel. So if your fishtailing, the power wheels have to be dealt with to control it. This is done by pedaling if you need to maintain speed or by brakes if your trying to stop. Everything is opposite on a front wheel drive.. Thats why when your drifting you pull a e brake in a turn .. This induces skid and allows the rear of the cars speed to exceed the front. This is done with a combination of e brake and letting of the throttle.. Then when you come out of the drift you punch it while easing out of the e brake. This allows the speed of the front tires to catch up with the skidding rear tires and pulls you out of the skid and you straighten up.. When your in a fishtailing front wheel drive, "peddaling or pushing the brake" will make you spinout.. Becuase its opposite in a front wheel drive. You have to speed the front tires up faster than the rear to regain stability. Most your brake power comes from the front wheels. So pushing the brake in a skidding front wheel drive is a no no. Its slows the front down even faster allowing the backend to out run the front even faster. Total spinout. Hope all that makes Sense

Exactly i was confused by the comments bcus joe n monza had an agreement n monza pointed it out. His son was there when they made the agreement which is why he checked joe. He wasn't even upset with joe when he called him out.
