Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville (PvZBFN) is the latest edition to the PvZ franchise and was released on the 18th of October 2019.
From the very first mobile game, to garden warfare to battle for neighborville I have loved the Plants vs Zombies franchise. I think mostly it's the wacky and strange universe that allows the most crazy ideas to just fit. Who'd have thought that having garden plants battling against a zombie horde could be such an amazing experience. I also love how inventive Popcap have been throughout their games, always trying something new! I think the PvZ franchise has a big focus on the player base and allowing them to just have fun and feel like a kid again.

Hi guys,
In today’s video we are going to be taking a look at my Battle for Neighborville Tier List for all Plant characters. Now just a couple of things about my tier list that are worthy of note - first off I am going to be including the Legendary upgrades as seperate entries but these are in a different colour so it’s not confusing - secondly I am classing Acorn & Oak as one character, and thirdly I have decided to include Wildflower however we’re not 100% that the Swarm characters are here to stay yet.
Also this is the first tier list I have ever created but I am going to do the standard disclaimer - like any tier list this tier list is based on my opinions and personal experiences - nothing is right or wrong, so you are more than welcome to disagree with some of my rankings. I’m a strong believer of respecting other people’s opinions, so you are more than welcome to share your thoughts and tier lists in the comments below...

@@Ambitwine How I do it is just find a place near the enemy where they can't see you, put down the respawn beacon, use your dandelion for some extra kills, then once the dandelions dead, attack some zombies head on. After you die just respawn at the beacon and repeat

In my opinion, no class is objective bad compared to the rest. The practicality of using a class highly depends on the player’s ability to utilize said class.

Played it for the first time today syarted with corn jumped into the lobby battle area and rekd 2 players ranked super something but i beat them both 2v1 with corn and my level i was litterally 1 minute gameplay

If anything I find normal corn being better than legendary from being able to hit shots more consistently, but if you can keep hitting your shots with the legendary upgrade then yeah it’s probably better

Citron w upgrades focused on shield health used in turf takeover is mandatory, of course with rose enigma he can dodge poison and high damage attacks also regardless of his slow speed.

Rose isn’t really a support, I’d class her as defense because of her goat ability, and her speed aura could be helpful defending too. She’s SO hard to play too.

Personally, I like to rank characters based on whether they were improved, or made worse from their Garden Warfare 2 counterparts. With Rose, I definitely agree that it's in the "okay" tier because she's just not as good as she used to be, mainly because her primary just feels slow and clunky compared to GW2. (My brother put her in "awful" tier just because he sucks at playing her, and even goes on to say GW2 Rose is overrated. It can get a bit annoying.) Chomper on the other hand I think majorly improved overall, starting off with the fact he now was a ranged attack to begin with. Sure it's not as fluid as the other shooters, but it has no reload/overheat and deals actually good damage (the terror of rooftop soldiers is no more!). Then there's grody goop, basically a plant equivalent of Soldier's stink cloud. It's actually a good thing that they replaced the regular goop because that was purposed for letting the slow chompers close the distance. But now that Chomper can sprint, that problem's basically solved (I say basically because everyone can sprint). So that's my opinion.

The thing I like most about using characters like chomper is how you wanna use it. You can be the fastest threat on the battlefield with just a few upgrades

You know, everyone uses sap trap for killing... but what they don’t know is that sap trap can also be used to have more mobility or to disengage from a battle, also you can get to high places with it. (I like to call it: sap jump)

All I can say is I absolutely hate night cap at the moment, she has extremely low health and I feel like her kit encourages spamming that dumb sphere down while spamming that one move we do not speak of. I just think they need to give her a separate kit people can use that could allow people to play a more ninja like play style. Classic citron was my fav plant class in gw2, and he still is my fav plant class, I like how they changed him to allow him to still stay as a tank without being too op. Night cap and acorn can be countered very well by 80's because he can one shot them, If they don't have the extra health upgraded Edit: and one shot by deadbeard if you have good accuracy and patients with jump spam

Tbh wildflower is ok alone but you just need to be stealthy and agile. Chaos helps conceal the wildflower. It's good with the dandelion is you're sneaky and out of sight and the primary is good at longer range. I find the wildflower a good choice to chip away someone's health and finish someone off. Or just a kamikaze class y'know

Thanks, Redhead. I just wanna share my thoughts: Wildflower: I agree with the part its drone should only make 75 damage plus it shouldn't have a 2nd boom. The cooldown isn't the main point cuz there's an upgrade which reduces it by 6 seconds when dealing a critical kill. Even many of this character's upgrades should be tweaked. Acorn/Oak: both have received unnecessary upgrades in last patch. I did notice one Oak which at carries one Acorn (at least) have become tougher to kill. I still think the Sniper class on BFN is broken cuz on rounds with 3 or more Cactus (or Pirates), other members from enemy team can't move beyond one point (I've seen it many times). Pea is still broken after it was unnecessary buffed with the previous patch before the last one. Chomper is moderately good, but it's also an above average sniper. It's a matter of practice with him. Then, its goop still kills Imps with one shot. 😒 Finally, I share the same opinions bt the other plants.

Sniper class in BFN is fun to play... But when you are playing against it becomes anoying since a lot of characters have less than 100HP. In Giddy Park for example it's impossible to play as Acorn, Nightcap or Sunflower when there's more than one sniper in the enemy's team.

75 damage is too little and i think they need to buff dandelions HP to 35 because yeti imp is better

@@V-jmsus Let's analyse it: The lowest HP we can find on BFN is 75 (NC, Acorn, Imp). Both drones have double explosion = 2x damage (one All-Star/Space Station can be killed by 1 single Dandelion). Both drones have speed upgrades which improve 'em a lot tbh (1.5x while they move forward 'n 2x while they move backward). Yeti imp can't jump into higher places, while 1 Dandelion can reach 'em easily. Both drones might have more HP only if they have lower damage plus w/o that double boom (a balance's idea). We really don't need more braindead abilities such as SB's legendary upgrade...

@@RedheadGaming tbh I think citron should be in op his beam can melt anything it touches with the juiced upgrade the spin dash destroys imps and can kill them when they are about to go in a mech plus the em-peach can have an upgrade that stuns you for EVEN LONGER, leaving you more time to melt them with the lazer his primary aswell has quite high dps on its own and its great when some imp is running a marathon to get away and his shield.... it could block a flipping nuculear bomb and help when you try and heal. I def think he deserves op tier much more than wildflower personally

I totally agree with your opinion on Chomper, a lot of people put him higher up but he lacks power at long range and struggles against groups of enemies too much to be near the top.

swag master he has an upgrade called hailtosis, which gives him extra splash damage. This means he can do 50 damage for a critical hit, which is hardly bad. Also, grody goop combined with dirt bath can shred groups of zombies. You might be thinking of gw2 chomper

@@gunners12356 His projectile fire rate is still too slow to kill most zombies before they get behind cover and is mainly useful for catching zombies as they run away. And unless the enemies are all standing close enough so that you can catch them all with the grody goop, you will be shot down by their teammates when you go in for the kill

swag master if you’re accurate, it definitely kills them fast enough and although he can’t kill hordes of zombies, but no plant can and he does a decent job of taking out 2 or 3 zombies

@@gunners12356 Most plants can't take out swarms but they can stay back and pick them off one at a time but Chomper normally needs to go to close range, which means coming out of cover. It's possible to do well but he's generally not as consistent as other plants.

I understand these are just you're opinions, but corn, I don't think you have been using him right. Corn would be top of my list. I use 3 builds for corn. 1 shogun guard + mobcobs, 2 rapid recob + mobcobs + revive refresh, 3 excuse not remembering exact names mobcobs+ the one that increases husk hop damage. I used to use the butter refresh one till the update where they beefed up the DMG buff on husk hop. The thing to remember with corn is butter increases damage for all corns. Toss your butter rip out the shuck shot and fire without aiming down site from distance. Next to remember damage increase for husk hop only works for the kernals that directly hit enemy. So for close up encounter, take time to get in close around cover toss butter slide on out ripping your shuck shot, try to position or be ready to sprint hop to better position where its most likely to hit zombies. Also, mechs, shield dome, space station, and turrets can not survive if you focus hop over them. Hold back during hop to stop and fire straight down, push forward prefer while sprint jump to move farther so to reach more zombies. The farther and faster you go the more spread out the kernal pattern. That method usually works not by hitting direct but the delayed explosions splash damage. If splash damage is what you prefer do not pick damage buff, choose damage area increase instead. Personally I love stopping above a group or large character and laying waste to them. People usually scratch their heads on that. So normally hits 6 + 8c, butter 11+ 14c, hop 1 kernal splash 5-3, hop butter 7-11. But w mobcobs the kernals that pierce hit 12+ 18c also target behind will take normal 6+8c, w butter 16+ 24c w target behind taking 12+18c if in butter dome if not 6+8c. Kernal direct hit hop w buff 12+18c, butter 21+28c also splash still hit as well 7-11, Best tip for anyone who reads whole thing. Hop DMG buff+ mobcobs direct hit + pierce 26+34c in butter. When playing a character you play to their strengths, then you will find their true worth.

I agree with you Red ^^ even if I don't pop up like that on your comment section but yeah i agree with you . Even if I play more with peeshooter , i agree that sometime , peeshooter is really a bouncy pea but if the pea doesn't bounce, that not a good pea but yeah they can be really annoying 😅 for Citron yeah , his shield is maybe powerful but that because he is a tank, he is haven't have a powerful shield, he would become a juice on the battlefield 😂 but yeah i think ,in my opinion, Rose is the character for the horde of zombies when there are a lot of zombie in the same area , the fact that she can just turn then into goat (even if the wizard can end that) is just powerful, even for a short time . She can be useful with other plant around because of her abilities. But yeah i think cactus is a girl , the cactus voice sound like she is a women (i don't really know myself X) ). But en anyway, i agree with your tier list, i would chance nothing , but the super sonic sunflower, never meet one that would be fun to see one 😂

I thing regular corn is pretty decent, but he's really good in the "Gargs" Turf Takeover map because of his incredibly consistent dps (also, I think butter beacon makes enemies take increased damage as well)

Sunflower is most op in gnome bomb as she can carry the bomb and the upgrades can help her speed through even if the only speed upgrade I have was hard target because I recently put that on due to being unable to escape though enemies such as Super Brainz!

Wildflower isn't op.It's pretty much balanced! The exploding ability may seem op,but you can completely deny it by hitting the wildflower. Also,it has low HP and damage,so it's pretty ok!

my personal fav is night cap because I have the teleportation upgrade which makes her so much faster and with this upgrade she can get out of the imps portal. I'm also a a boss at night cap.

Chomper I also do not like as well, however, just like footsoldiers can chain or make a huge area of poison, chomped also can. If using slobber shot and the slow projectile hits it does a lot of damage. The weeds are annoying especially used in conjunction with nightcaps dark thingy. If there two ways to go nightcap blocks one spikeweeds in the other, sitting targets for the shooting. Or do the whole kamikaze burrow vanquish, I like to pop out and attack but whatever.

Personally I think Snapdragon is the best character in the game. I've gotten several 30 kill games of Team Vanquish as him. I started playing GW2 again and the only thing I missed about this game was Snapdragon.

Personally, I mainly use characters that I can quickly get in and out of the action with since I can’t see as well as most people which means I may not realize an opponent is near me until they start shooting. So far, idk which character I should use but I am leaning more towards cactus since it has a sniper machine gun combo which I prefer.

I like wildflower and one of the reasons is because of the drones, to me you can use drones like corns butter bardge or what ever it is called,let me explain. When you activate the drone you can use it to see how many enemies there are in a area before you go in there yourself. The other reason I like wildflower is because of his Bloom boom, Bloom boom can be used to finish someone off when you and that person are at low health

Remember the days when Snapdragon and Acorn were trash, and now they are probably some of the best characters in the game. Also, I don’t play this game anymore because I realized that I really wasn’t having fun, but I’m still subscribed because this guy is such a great content creator.

I had to pause video for a comment. You had said you didn't know where or what rose is good for or something similar. Opinion time.. Rose, support, Rose is an indispensable support character. 2 of the best uses for Rose, in turf takeover, if a formation is used, arcane enigma can be used to quickly avoid high damage attacks/attacks that normally devastate plants around the cart and to keep the cart moving even when covered by poison. 2nd useful in all modes but extra good in turf takeover and battle arena, Roses ability to interrupt/prevent abilities being used. For anyone who is wondering how, goatify. Equipping the upgrades that extend goat form duration and arcane enigma duration the more plants inside area and refreshing revive make Rose a super support character. To be fair to my zombie bros, when teams are stacking rose to enigma the cart non stop there is something you can do to make their plan flop. Wizards zeelixer will end arcane enigma.

The only character I would change is Rose and her upgrade. 12 dmg per bullet with homing is insane. If you jinx, your dmg will be 15, 18 a crit. Thorns apart gives you a free 125 dmg if you're patient enough. Also, you can have thistle missile with Thorns apart. Both gonna be in S teir for me personally.

In my genuine opinion, as of now, Chomper is near-broken. His burrow feels like he’s in a NASCAR race, and I went on a Giddy Park server and got like 7 kills without dying, most of them with his burrow.

And for my third comment, I would like to point out that the corn's legendary upgrade ruins his purpose! His purpose is to run in and gun in! He is best played aggressively and using his abilities to get in close or fallback and be a good team leader! Sure the upgrade makes him a better leader, but it also weakens him as a aggressive attacker!

I'm gonna say, I'm a really skilled nightcap player, getting like around 40 kills in a turf takeover if I feel motivated enough, and I get how you still put nightcap in annoying after its nerfs
