Battle of Britain Day - The Blitz by Barfly - 2011 

9 years later and an old youtube video still has better cinematography AND historical accuracy than modern hollywood films. I read the article on the spitfire pilot ramming the Dornier. The scene was recreated almost perfectly to it’s historical counterpart. Sheer brilliance.

My mum who is now 95 was close to Victoria station watched the plane come down and she thinks only one of the crew got out.

As someone who grew up with war comics such as Victor, Battle etc as a boy before home PC's, these clips remind me of my childhood. They have the same feel as the comic book lay out. Well done on the lay out of this film and who cares if its from a game, i for one enjoyed of being reminded of my time as a child reading stories of air battles, fights in far of deserts or on the high seas. Lets hope we never grow up.......

My Grandmother was a conductor on the London buses during the blitz. I remember hearing her say how loud it was when the air raid sirens would wail and then the bombs would fall... It must have truly been a frightening time!

The BEST one of these I've seen yet. RE-enactment of some of the movies scenes with Ju-88s instead of He111s. Got the BoB theme and ride of the valks. I hope to have a computer that can run this someday. I could fly the current one if I could get damn windows to see my CH stick and pedals like it used to. THis is great work. Very pro looking.

that part at the end where the hurricane rammed the Do-17 is real, the hurricane pilot landed in a bin and his parachute got stuck on a drainpipe and was paraded as a hero

5:42 this scene happens in real life. During the blitz, ray holmes ran out of ammo for his hurricane & used his plane as a missile and tore the Dornier in half. He managed to eject including three of the Dornier crew

The operation Sea Lion plans were cancelled because Hitler wanted Operation Barbarossa. An internal studie in england (war cabinet) came to the conlusion that the royal navy could not prevent the german invasion. The german general of the Luftwaffe Göhring told to one of his generals Mr. Student 1940 "The Führer doesnt even want to England Mr. Student". Instead Hitler decided to start the "Fall Barbarossa", the invasion of russia. So in the end Hitler saved England in a certain way because most of the german troops, planes, vehicles etc.. were used in russia instead. Hitler wanted to made peace with england but england told him that he has to leave all occupied countries like poland etc.. to make a peace contract and hitler was against it.

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible for the bullets from fighters to hit people on the ground ? Or would the bullet loose it's power before reaching the ground in such altitudes ? Either way, great video !

Update. As i remember.....the title of the book was, 'German Bombers over England' The usual sites sell this particular old book.
