Not gonna lie I prefer to be a British with those fur hat other than the Americans because the British looks like they are well trained and disciplined and he look cool in my opinion
@@johnf.kennedy6129 See when I was younger ofc the USA was my favourite but now that im older ive come to appreciate and value all of the history from both sides of conflicts.
@@knightman4574 English Civil War. Trust me nothings says fun like the command "Prepare to Receive Horse" when you form into a square while 50-75 members of Cromwell's cavalry descend upon you. Yes it would be like the French cavalry assault on the British at Waterloo. Having been involved in 17th century, Rev War and American Civil War Living history, !7th has been the most fun.
I had the role of a confederate infantry officer in a big reenactment in '03. There were discreet markers in the grass, and before the battle you were told at which marker you died. It was great fun, except lying in the grass for close to an hour. But it really made you think about what war was like back then .
Jimmie Johnson48 Ben Martin is a poorly written character, the Continental soldiers turn their head back all the way when they shoot, the acting is horrible, and it’s in accurate.
Fun Story: It was 2015, I was in the 6th grade at York Prep School at S.C. We had a field trip to learn about the Civil War at Brattensville. We (the little boys) were taught how to use the line formation when in battle while the girls were taught the way of the home life. As the field trip was coming to an end, we were allowed to go to the gift shop and buy whatever we wanted. Uniforms, t-shirts, wooden muskets, plastic swords, cotton in plastic bags, etc. As all the boys bought what we wanted, another school bus drove in. And we knew that it wasn’t ours. We all looked at the students walking out of the bus. And we tightened our grip on our bought weapons. Then an idea arose. “Hey!” Shouted one of my classmates. “Let’s have a battle!” Beaming with joy of the thought of our own reenactment we agreed, however we needed to see if they were willing to do it. So we came up with a leader and two guards. We voted a kid named Bradley as the leader, me and one other kid as the guards. As we approached the other school, our leader tapped what seemed to be the popular kid. “Howdy, our school wanted to see if you’d like to join us for a reenactment.” Bradley asked. The kid, seemed interested and spoke to the rest of the group. “Only if it’s boys vs boys.” He said. Excited to hear that, our leader shook hands and said, “Deal. No girls!” The fight went on for 1/2 an hour, then we were called to aboard the bus. Looking sad that it had to end, we shook hands and agreed to do this again. Not a single boy was clean, we all were covered in mud and leaves. We’ll never forget our own Reenactment. “The Battle of the Schools.”
My 4th great grandfather was 2nd north carolina cavalry Captain Henry B Conley. He fought at Cowpens. That is also the battle depicted in the movie The Patriot at the end
you buy it or you make it, a good British Army Cartridge Box will set you back about 200.00, musket's 700. clothes made for you 300-500. We made our own, yes. Because, the British Marines kit was different from the Regular Line, and that my guys didn't mind stitching leather, making hats, canteens, even sewing uniforms, we got off fairly cheap. Still had to purchase muskets and bayonets
Man their lucky man! This is so cool I wish my school did this from different 1700s and 1800s wars what school is this. if I was a drummer I would be playing the british grenadiers if i was british.
so cool but there are little bits of farbs in the video for exsample the kids are wearing the cocked hats wrong but if they did watch Chris the Redcoat he does a very great job on telling how to waer it Good luck and God save the king!
@@ChristheRedcoat yea i know better from a year ago like nit picking at uniforms just really unnecessary stuff like that it is very cool that these kids get to experience history on there own
