The Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, or the Battle of Al-Uqab, took place on 16 July 1212 during the Reconquista and was an important event in the history of Spain. The Christian forces of King Alfonso VIII of Castile were joined by an army of crusaders, including his rivals, Sancho VII of Navarre and Peter II of Aragon against the Almohad Muslim rulers of the southern half of the Iberian Peninsula, known as Al-Andalus. The Muslim caliph, al-Nasir, Miramamolín, led the Almohad army, made up of soldiers from all over the Almohad Caliphate. Despite being outnumbered, the Christian crusaders prevailed and the Moorish forces were defeated.
This video was produced using the PC game, Mount & Blade Warband, and Mount & Blade II Bannerlord, developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment, with sound effects and music from Medieval II Total War, by the Creative Assembly. Battle map animations were made in MS paint and Gimp. Gameplay recordings captured with MSI Afterburner.

The origen of the chains is the black slave warriors who protected the tent of the caliph, they were all chained together, those chains are the emblem of Navarra because it was Sancho, the king of Navarra, who assaulted and destroyed that last defense of the caliph tent. Maybe it is not PC but those are the facts.

Yes but who were the under dogs though? the tiny Christian Kingdoms cornered in the North or the endless hordes of warriors from the islamic world? Also, the reason why Hispania was to easily conquered was because there was already internal fighting amoungst the Christians in Iberia and more than half the men who agreed to join King Roderick in riding down to welcome the peaceful messengers of islam, berayed him and stood back and watched as he and loyal men charged the Umayyad's. Before turning around and riding back. King Rockerick and his most loyal men valiantly fought to the death, while the traitorous cowards ran away.
