Battle which lasted 10 months from February 21 to December 18, 1916 the savior was General De Castelnau who stopped the enemy advance & the big winner was General Robert Nivelle very well seconded by General Charles Mangin.
Such a great victory for the Crusaders. HRE sacked the capital city of seljuks and absolutely tamed them. The seljuk sultan surrendered to Barbarossa while on his knees. The Iconium was also a spiritually most important city for the turks. Barbarossa literally struck a sword on their chest and avenged all other Crusaders' defeat with this victory. Thx for covering this magnificent battle.
Quote : " @LiLian-vd4ki Quand cest une defaite ils s'agit d'anglo-gascon et quand c'est une victoire il sagit dune victoire anglaise ... propagande anglaise .. pathetique.. tres drole ....continuez !! translation : When it's a defeat it's Anglo-Gascon and when it's a victory it's an English victory... English propaganda .. pathetic. very funny .... Carry on!!.
That was a video of epic proportions, you made great use of your maps, and you told the step by step history in a thorough and digestible manner. Awesome music and great use of game imagery to enhance the story telling. Truly 12/10!
TY for the video - Just a detail > CAEN is absolutely not pronounced "SIN" as you do (lol) but "KAN" (like the start of "candle" and not like a "can") - If I may - ;)
Most spectacular work, it is great to see history made cinematic, and this much detail given to individual commanders and their colors. Splendid sir, hope you have as many kids as there are commanders here
Excellent. Well done. Well spoke and your knowledge on details of the leaders and their reputations made it very personable. Superp. I enjoyed this very much.
Very interesting indeed and well explained. But all these footmen who run in completes armors of 60 lbs... and these mountains between Paris and Orleans...🤣
I think it’s sad they removed the horns from the ritterbrüder helmets but it’s more realistic I guess. But for some reason they no longer have great helms since the update, which is unrealistic
Scotland was never conquered why do you put this drivel, it may have been occupied by a foreign army for a few years, even the Romans could never conquer Scotland.
the latin sack of constantinople in 1204 was the catholic revenge for orthodox byzantines not helping out frederick barbarossa retake the anatolian peninsula and basically letting him do all the work himself.
It has been told that John Talbot didn't carry weapon because hes swore to do so when liberated. Probably true, the death of this man inspires "grande pitié".
Our towns and characters name are horrific for english speaking poeple; most do not pronounce the same way they are written . It must be really uncomfortable . I can't resist to the tentation to help you Reims is almost like "rince", Orléan (no s this time) Verneuil like vern and oeil (eye but in french). Your serie, i just discover is really good and objective .
God helped France: death of the two kings after treaty of Troyes and sending Jeanne . Concernig Patay, i'm not sure that the english had time to entirely deploy . The rearguard was surprised, the center had just time to hastely deploy before the impact, and i read somewhere that the avant guard fled because they believed that their general (Fastolf i suppose) was fleing...he was in fact running to the avant-guard to order them to turn back and help the troops of Talbot. I don't know if the sources are reliable enough .
Hi thanks for carrying on with these vids. They are so entertaining as well as, informative for a history buff. I love the format and helps to visualise what these battles would look like. Awesome keep it up
