It’s amazing to think that the USS Midway is now a museum for tourists. I’ve been on it before and it was such a great experience learning about the planes and the carrier itself
Man, I still believe the greatest plane mission in a video game that’s not a combat flight sim is Going Hunting from BF3 and that came out 10 years ago.
This looks like the best air combat I've ever seen, game makers please make more air combat games please, there could never be enough for me, I love them.
DCS lol. This guy's not the worst pilot I've ever seen, but this isn't even close to realistic. I think you might have like 1000 rounds for those twin guns up front (12 sec total)
Those of you that don’t know your fighter aircraft of the US Navy early in WW2 during Midway battle were Wild Cats, not Hell Cats. They have one on display at Chicago O’Hare. If you really want to watch the real movie Midway 1976 in full detail then go for it.
@@ChandranPrema123 no. The SBD dauntless did have 2 forward firing .50 caliber guns and a pair of .30s in the back seat for the radio man. In the hands of a talented pilot and when not carrying a bomb load. It can hold its own for a while against the Zero. Hell they were used as part of the Combat Air Patrol at the Battle of the Coral Sea.
I keep thinking the same thing when I used to play and still watch these games today. Biggest con is the lack of peripheral vision, we instinctively see movement out of corners of ours eyes, the lack of which in shooter games has always been super frustrating to me. Still like watching game play , but stopped playing them for that reason.
Love him or hate him.. now you know what it was like to be in George H.W. Bush's shoes. That man went from Naval Aviation, to CIA, then the Presidency, and then ultimately, dementia.. I cannot agree with everything he did, but credit and respect where it is due.. and he certainly earned it.
looks amazing. 1 thing I never liked in those games is how they put you in a WW2 dive bomber and than you dogfight and do crazy stuff that would be impossible for those planes to do. It flew as a cow compared to fighters. Ace in a day in SBD VS A6M? Yeah. Dear devs, make something that is looks like this but plays like IL-2.
Those guys who flew those hell cats in world war 2 who toke off from those aircraft carries had more balls than any of us in this comment section. It’s not like today when the jets engines help you launch off. During world war 2 the carrier had to be going a certain speed in order for planes to take off safely. And to land the planes you had to get this hook pole thing to catch a cable on the deck on the ship in order for the plane to stop.
If in the real battle I think you want to hit the enemy is not so easy as this，another obvious issue is every hitting has an explosion。 Do you guys agree?
