I can say for certain the French team had some communications issues. As in, too little chat discipline which caused us to fumble a few times we should have coordinated properly. Was still a fun match nonetheless.
Well as in history, the French were pretty outnumbered here too! Better defensive tactics might have gotten them close to a win, though; this map always has the scrappiest hilltop fights. You kept some decent pressure on their position, Pope. France Spain (W) Total Deployed: 6958 11114 Losses: 4791 4530 % of Team Lost: 69% 41% Friendly Fire: 183 411 % of Team FF: 3% 4% Enemy Killed: 4119 4608 Killed/Lost Ratio: 0.86 1.02
At 26:00 - I led the charge with my French light cav over there but I did not realise the Vistula legion excelled in combat more than shooting. (I was under the impression that they could have been great at both) I should have engaged further, with my legions of infantry doing nothing on the right - But I was unsure of the Spanish flank in front of me. Once I realised it was there I tried to take advantage but I had done two problems One sending in Italian troops when I could have sent the Vistula to fight the milita as well as not sacrificing the Italian dragoons, and that would have helped Two, not sending in the Vistula legion into the house. I will keep this in mind next time. I will keep this in mind but at 26:38 - its very difficult for me to do this. If I move all the units, the Spanish light infantry are assembled in such a way that they can shoot my infantry to shreds. I do somewhat try and move the infantry up but I realise that you just have more reserves than I do. My right flank has engaged too much infantry and I have less at the other. It just won't work. I was fighting you Pope, but my team mates were buckling under pressure from the Spanish - which was not easy to budge. I was too. I thought I did worse, but seeing the way my other team mates performed, Spain did not win this battle so easily.
@@MedjayofFaiyum yeah wasn't an easy fight for you in the open that's for sure ! Having skirms kinda helps I've realised more and more as they can cover flanks and make it seem like you have forces where you actually don't and yeah the Vistula boys can do both well just they're small units so not one to risk in a gun fight just melee for them lol
either the modders need to nerf the morale and shooting of the spanish or they need to buff the stats of the french for these scenarios to be winnable, the numbers alone makes this nearly unwinnable. On top of that french struggle to win line fight against the spanish ,which in itself is stupid.Spanish should not be out shooting the french
@@rubric-eo5yj France needs to melee to win these fights and they didn't do that bar the beginning of the match really if you watch later they do it again and have some success
@@PopeJohnPaul still spanish units should not be out shooting their french counterparts in a line battle though. That is pretty historically in accurate
@@PopeJohnPaul not really if you go by that, the brits firing 3 rounds a minute was also pretty rare, with even the parade manual for the british states 2 rounds per minute and those were also blank rounds as well. And considering the fact that the training for the spanish units ranged from nonexistant to abysmal they really shouldn't be winning a line fight
@@rubric-eo5yj they just have numbers that's usually their strength so it's not that they can necessarily shoot better but that they can whittle down the much smaller french units with a prolonged gun fight why the melee strategy is the one to take for france as yes lots of the Spanish units have poor morale due to varying factors like they are militia. Plus training someone to use a musket isn't too difficult why you end up with armies in their hundreds of thousands by this period but get your point but Spain gotta have some strength man otherwise it's useless 🤣
