@drscopeify

Well for about a year the British were the only man standing against Germany and even with much larger resources the Germans failed, the air battle was a failure and Germany could not build up enough forces needed to invade the British isles proper and had no air or sea dominance. I am not sure resources were enough it was bad strategy from day 1.
@Lycurgus1982
@Lycurgus1982 6 месяцев назад
@@drscopeify Germany wasn't trying to completely devastate Britain. They were holding out that Britain would join their cause, as Germany had a great deal of admiration for them. "A bad plan from day one" is arguable. In many ways it was the third Reich's only open window to set their sights on defeating their ideological enemy in the east. It was a tall order, but not impossible for the German military as it was.
@duckydude1382
@duckydude1382 5 месяцев назад
@@Lycurgus1982 that wasn’t why they bombed Britain. The Germans hoped to knock out Britain’s air superiority. Doing this was the only way for Operation Sea Lion to have a chance of success. Of course this was a poor strategy because Britain could make up their aircraft losses much quicker than the Germans could.

At the time British population was about 41 million, USA about 132 million naturally during *latter stages* of WW2 an exhausted Britain who had been in the fight from day 1 and 28 months before Uncle Sam decided to participate would have less divisions deployed. @@williamstephenson8250 The USA joined the war because they were attacked in 1941, the same year the USSR was attacked, also what is it with people thinking the ussr did most of ww2 alone, the Americans, British, and many others did a ton too, lets not forget lend lease, where the soviets were given tons of food, boots, tanks, planes, trains, trucks and tons of other stuff they needed, also you can look up pictures of soviets in berlin and in half of the pictures you will see an american/british truck, or tank

Why does this dude always make sure that the Attacker starts off with a ton of forces first and then all of a sudden the defender gains new forces, this aint always the case, during this time the Allies had a Larger number of forces already present in the area, Thats not how the Battle of the Bulge happened, in fact it was a reattempt at what had happened in the Beginning of the Invasion of The Benelux and France. The Germans quickly used several units that they had left(meaning they shouldve been the one increasing numbers quickly as it began happening) and they smashed through tons of Allied Defenses Right there, but then failed not as Reinforcements arrived, but they just reorganized, Reinforcements had already been happening across the entire Western Front of the Allies anyways.

@@HilpaniousXI “💀💀” You literally just proved my point because the ussr had a 1 million troop difference and had a massive land frontline meanwhile the USA had to ship thousands across the ocean in order to combat the German forces. Also I’m not sure if you saw, but the German lines bogged down and took massive casualties almost immediately after the battle of the bulge and after the victory at Bastogne. The USA didn’t “almost lose” in Belgium. By 1945, the Germans literally didn’t have a chance to counterattack and take France back considering the fact that he tried the same tactic that he used in 1940

- 70,000 Indian soldiers were killed in the war not millions. - 2.5 - 3 million died in the Bengal famine not 10m+ - The Indian famine was caused by bad management not malicious intent to murder as many Indians as possible. This is backed up by the fact that Churchill wrote telegrams to FDR demanding wheat be sent via American ships to India. This was denied because there is no way shipping would make it from Australia to India without being destroyed by the Imperial Japanese Navy. - This means Hitler is worse because the Nazis wanted to exterminate Jews, Slavs, Poles etc. They diverted resources from their war effort to aid their mass extermination programs. Find me the British version of the final solution to the Jewish question at the Wannsee conference, I'll wait.
