And after all their heroic deeds, after risking and sacrificing their lives for the freedoms that we now enjoy- they get just one day to be commemorated. Most people don't know much about ww1 and 2 and don't understand the value and importance of these historical events. It's really a shame

One of the best documentaries I have watched of WW2 , it was hard not to get emotional and trying to understand what these veterans endure and went through & what they had to do to survive, while changing the world and fought for freedom, bless everyone of them they have my 💯 percent respect that's for sure.

So many heroes... so many dead. 1944 wasn't THE coldest winter of WWII- that was 1941, but it was still well below zero (some say 30 below) when the Allies advanced toward Germany. The worst thing is, IMO, the men couldn't fight all day and get to a warm hut, tent or whatever for the night. There was no end in sight, no "if I just hang on for another ? hours, I can go warm up". They had nothing to look forward to (pardon the dangling participles-lol). The fact that they refused to give up and surrender is awesome.

My Dad fought in the Battle of the Bulge he and 2 others from a company of solders survived he was wounded helping a fellow solder God Bless all or Veterans
