The Camille Rose Curl Maker is normally about $22 for 12 ounces and the TGIN Curl Bomb Moisturizing Styling Gel is about $15 for 13 ounces. Also, one of you guys informed me that the Curl Maker no longer contains glycerin (idk how old mine is 😂) so that may be of interest to those of you who are glycerin sensitive.
Thought I was the only one who thought the TGIN daily moisturizer & gel didn’t mix well. But I did try the TGIN twist & define cream with the gel & it worked wonders!
Last time I used the Camille rose curl maker, I used entirely too much!!! I used like an 8th of the bottle on hair that wasn't even past my armpit. I later learned that I need more water and less product when using slippery botanical gels and jellies. They work especially well after a fresh shampoo and deep conditioning treatment.
I definitely prefer the CRN side better, but I'm a bit biased. That's my favorite brand. I've gotten great results layering the CRN deep penetrating coconut water leave in and the coconut water style setter under my gels. I've used this combo under quite a few gels and I always end up with a moisturized wash and go. And no flaking!
OMGGGG I can’t believe i came across ur channel & this video ‼️ I am huge tgin fan & the Camilla rose brand has always been brand I kept my eye on, so this comparison was super intriguing. I found it interesting that you used the tgin butter moisturizer rather than the twist and define cream to moisturize your hair. That’s probably why the two didn’t mix well together when you tested it. Btw S/o to you for keeping your wash and gos for a week‼️ I do that also but so many people don’t it’s crazy
I used the TGIN gel and moisturizer today and I have no flakes. It dries clear. The mask is the only impressive product in that line to me. I honestly can't tell a difference on your hair but I trust your judgement. Will try CRN next.

TGIN butter and conditioner were both a no-go for me so I don’t think I’m going to invest in another product from the brand. But CRN have all been amazing on me and I JUST bought the curl maker yesterday and your video popped up when I got home so I was even more excited to do my hair today! lol
Okay I’m back 😅 so I combined the curl maker with SM curl enhancing smoothie. I was pretty heavy handed w product. My hair feels like it has too much moisture/product in it which is virtually impossible bc I have DENSE 4a hair (lots and lots of hair and my strands are coarse). I think next time I may simply apply the products in the shower and use less products as well. I flaked but I felt like it was my fault for using so much of the smoothie 😞
wayNAY83 I could definitely see that being the case with that combination lol but, that means the moisture will probably last a while! And yes! Give it another try that way to see how it turns out for you! I’ve never tried that combo but I haven’t ever gotten flakes with any combos I’ve used with the Curl Maker as long as I’m working on soaking wet hair 💗💗
Okay, so I tried the CRN curl maker with the Giovanni direct leave in (a lot lighter than the SM CE smoothie) and it was my best wash and go in a long long time. Yayyy
Every wash n go looks perfect on you. I used CR once before, & I had a ton of flakes even using it as directed. Maybe I used too much? I may try it again when I don’t have anywhere to go.
MissMeMissMoe Try using less, a little goes a long way. I have kinky type 4 hair and I avoid flakes by applying products on soaking wet hair. I've never gotten flakes from Curl Maker, but I have heard that others have gotten flakes.
I’ve seen quite a few people say that they get flakes with it but I never have 😩 maybe trying again with less product and more water will prevent that but I’m pretty heavy handed with just about everything lol thank you, love 💗💕😘
Girlll I’m doing a wash and go with TGIN right now! It’s been a while, so I don’t remember my specific results, but I do know it’s not one of my faves. Super disappointing especially since i LOVE the Honey Miracle Hair Mask and Butter Creme from TGIN! Anyway, great comparison!

Hey let me ask you something I alway here u say u goin let it air dry how long do u let it dry n do u diffuse at anytime n do u still pineapple it the same way I ask cuz I'm starting to get alil better by watchin ur technique but I was jus wondering how u let it dry wat u do after it sorry for the question lol Lol
Dang TGIN doesn't pair well with it's own products. I tried the TGIN leave in with kinky curly and they mixed but felt kinda stripped together. Well, gotta spend those extra coins.
