@@TicTacToeCraft I disagree, personally. I think you’d be spending enough time in each area that you’ll get to fully appreciate each one. Plus, the variety is nice either way
@@TeknoThomIn my limited experience with the original TTYD, having played only until the beginning of Chapter 2 and watched a Let's Play a considerable time ago, I recall there being areas that required less than an hour of gameplay to complete. I personally support the concept of incorporating various arrangements, as demonstrated effectively in Origami King. Therefore, I am hopeful that the TTYD Remake will achieve a similar balance between overuse and underuse.
The first time I heard this, it was paired with a video where the enemy struck first, so I assumed the intro was just in minor key as a result. "Cool, nice touch" I thought. But it remained minor key throughout, and then I realized they're doing a separate battle theme for each area. I couldn't be happier.
thank god its longer. my biggest problem with the original ost was how short songs were. this song was only 32 seconds long in the original while here its 98
One of the only things I loved about Origami King is the Soundtrack,so I'm happy they are giving this remake the full TOK treatment with new battle themes and full orchestra.
I’m glad they’re making each area’s battle theme unique in this game. But I wonder what the later themes will be as Mario continues his quest. My interest is X-Naught Fortress and Palace of Shadow.
I think a lot of people forget how repetitive the original soundtrack is. The original battle theme only had a 40 second loop so I'm glad they're doing this.
I love how each region of the game feels slightly more unique since they have their own themes. Petal Meadows has a different theme than Shhwonk Fortress which also has a different theme than Hooktail’s Castle means each chapter will have at least 2 battle themes heard through it.
I mean, obviously im going to be a bit impacted by nostalgia blindness, and so im going to take some time to get used to the new tracks, but im happy theh are making new versions of the battle theme like they did with origami king. It was sort out of place in the original ttyd that even in stressful moments or areas, the battle music remained so happy sounding. Thinking of course of hooktail castle, chapter 7s main dungeon. Chapter 8s main dungeon. Maybe chapter 5s main dungeon. (And im intentionally not mentioning names. I know this game is 20 years old, but lets try to respect people who may be playing this gem for the first time and avpid spoilers)
Glad this (and Origami King, apparently) fixed one of my personal biggest gripes with Mario RPGs… having only one (sometimes unfittingly upbeat) regular battle theme play throughout pretty much the entire game
As someone who really doesnt like the compositions in origami king and really loves the compisitions in thousand year door, it upsets me that theyre adding new songs that dont sound anything like thousand year door songs and are even replacing some of the original songs with them. Idk why the composer felt the need to tamper with what was already an incredible OST. I know im being very negative but the original game means a lot to me and i was hoping everything would remain faithful, including the music
this is literally just a different arrangement of the TTYD battle theme to fit Hooktail Castle. If it bothers you that much, just use the Nostalgic Tunes badge to restore the OG soundtrack.
I literally cant understand how brand new paper mario music could be a bad thing to you. So what if its not more like the ttyd music? This goes unmistakenly hard.
Because OK's ost is phenomenal and probably the best in the series, that's why they felt the need to tamper with the remake's ost and it only benefits from it. You really need to get your ears checked as this music is fantastic and much improved from the original. It's very weird to say the least that this bothers you this much, you're a prime example of nostalgia bias. Use your precious GameCube badge when the game comes out then cause you clearly don't know good music when you hear it. All of the songs still sound like TTYD songs, they're just mega improved.
