This is improper seed starting for sure. We have whatever lights we could find just to get them through. Weather will change dramatically here. Our true direct seed plant date for most items is Late April.
4 more weeks! Enough time for us to get the biochar roasted and inoculated. We have a frozen slab of old Salmon taking up valuable space in the mini fridge/freezer. This will be the most EXPENSIVE Fish Emulsions fertilizer / Hydrolysate made in history! 😆
If you happen to find some in your area, look for the back to the roots greenhouse kits, a bit more expensive then the jiffy ones. i highly reccomend them, only draw back is that its only a 50 cell vs 72. yet it does have built in vents.
Go to a pet store that sells reptiles and get fluorescent bulbs with uva and uvb rays .. that is a the rays the sun puts out.. it's called a full spectrum reptile light. They will give off heat and "sun light" .. just a thought... but idk if you have enough solar.. not sure of the conversion from fluorescent bulb to solar power
So I'm verse in lighting, it's a matter of money and space. Both of which we do not have, nor can afford at this time. I do have a better set up for next year if we choose to start seeds indoors again. Amazon sells these inexpensive grow domes seed starter kits with heat mat and lights for ultra cheap. Under $35.00
