That is sort of what I'm hoping for, for the next Mario Kart. Not so much _"Mario Kart"_ but Smash Bros Kart or Mario and Nintendo All Stars Kart. Mario Kart 8 prooves they can't limit themselves to just Mario stuff now
@@insaneintherainmusicThis is the truth! A big band arrangement truly sounds great! and now it's time for Sonic 3's Marble Garden also, I suggested that but its probably not gonna happen
Haha! It’s easier to show that when I’m filming separately from recording the audio (which a lot of this was) - sometimes focus just overrides all visible expressions of happiness even though you may feel pretty happy on the inside!
This cover is incredible. One of my favorite battle themes ever, made even more jazzy, and you alway knock it out of the park! Love all the small variations and touches you put on it, especially the piano solo. ❤️
I just wanna say, I really appreciate your descriptions. Not many people bother to put such a great amount of detail into their descriptions, and its such a joy to read for each one of your videos. Great arrangement as always.
Oh man, this was worth the wait! I love the fact that your fans begged for this, and you were listening. I guess that's what makes you one of the great RU-vidrs today. Thanks for doing such great work and sharing it with us. It means so much.
I can't believe you got a bass trombone and were able to sound this good on it in only a few weeks! If that's not truly impressive, I don't know what is!
Haha thanks! It wasn’t that different from trombone, and a lot of the air support techniques transferred over from low winds that I’ve played, like bari sax and bass clarinet.
@@insaneintherainmusic Dude, I've been a musician almost my entire life, a tuba player for 12 years and a bass trombone player for 6 years and you just played that part better than I could have, on only a few weeks of practice?! On top of playing the *entire rest of the big band*?! You are a machine, Carlos
I guessed yesterday that it was gonna be Torna's battle theme, so I was already really excited. That song absolutely slaps, and your covers only ever improve on the original. Yet somehow you still managed to blow me away with this one! The big band style just fits this piece so well!
Wanna know what else is "Insane"? The fact that I was JUST looking up this theme to listen to and this happened to be one of the first results. Couldn't even hesitate to hit play. Now I know to keep that bell on! Well done my friend!
Ditto, although I think I’d personally rather see a cover of the Evolution version of Inevitable Struggle. Really any Falcom covers in general would be hype as hell though
Even though I've never played a Xenoblade game, every time I listen to a Nintendo music mix and suddenly get snapped out of whatever I'm doing because the music is so good that I have to check what song it is, it is ALWAYS from Xenoblade. So yeah, this rules.
Been looking forward to hearing you cover this ever since I first heard it when XC2 came out!! I'm so grateful for your superb cover -- I really respect your ability to rearrange and expand on already great music, just as your additions to this piece made it a sublimely distinct experience from the original :)
@@insaneintherainmusic Also! With regards to the videography, I really dig the colour tone of your lighting xD truly golden Perhaps things to change are experimenting with different light angles, such as overhead or bottom up lighting (suitable for dramatic/noir music). One gripe is that having the light directly face the camera creates a noticeable glare, and it can mess with your contrast in editing. I think in this video it was not too egregious, since it was also a sort of warm/soft tone, but the intensity definitely detracts from the overall composition. Sort of like how it's difficult to appreciate the sky if you stare straight at the sun xD Another thing to note is that your lighting set up tends to make your face and body sort of flat, in that there's a lack of highlights/shadows that accentuate your figure/instruments. If you ever feel like experimenting with cool videos to fit your music themes, you could consider messing around with your lights more! If you search gaffing or lighting tutorials on RU-vid you should be able to pick up really simple techniques that can still make a big difference in your visual mood!
One simple concept is setting up a main and fill light! Your main light is the strongest intensity and for situations where you want to light up your face you will put it behind the camera. Using secondary fill lights let's you adjust the appearance of shadows and highlights on your body contours by providing weaker light and shadows, or perhaps even different tones or colours of lights! Would help make shots of your saxophone in this video more visually interesting and can also help with directing audience's focus to specific things if you highlight specific areas!
This is really killin' man, I'm super impressed with how you've been able to learn all these instruments and play them well enough to make everything sound the way it does. Good stuff all-around man, I hope you're doing well.
Bro I knew only you can do these kinds arrangements with such a glorious result. If only the actual Smash remixes had this kind of quality. Fantastic work, my man.
As soon as I heard it in-game, I knew I wanted to do a version of it, but it just took some time to accumulate the necessary skills to do it how I wanted to!
Shoutout to the twitch viewers who got to see this arranged in real time! I really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes of this coming together, including the new bass bone and the translation of some of the parts to a trombone section!
Dang! I'm surprised no one is mentioning the recording quality of this! The yellow lights that you are using really give this a certain premium feel. This is definitely one of your best videos, cinematography wise. And that's not even mentioning the banger of a song!
This cover is amazingly good, but what makes it one of the most incredible songs i've ever heard, is the fact that you're playing every single instrument. That is an insane amount of talent. Kudos.
Holy frick Carlos, it's like you completed your infinity gauntlet of jazz music videos--saxes, trumpets, trombones, rhythm section, music production and videography--you're inevitable now! But seriously, super awesome video! I love how you're always looking to try out new things, that's one of the main reasons why I keep coming back to your music!
What a pure JOY YOU ARE!!!!! You are incredible man!! Your gift has truly blessed me and my daughters lives! Thank you! I can't get enough of insaineintherain!!!
Oh I canot wait until this hopefully ends up on Spotify, and here I thought this song couldn't be any more dope as it already was, but of course you somehow managed to prove me wrong yet again. Truly amazing!
Everytime the slider glides past the piano or focuses on the trumpet buttons with the warm light behind I forget for a second I'm meant to be listening to the music
What a killer cover! The new instruments present here help spice it up in the early parts from the original, then that solo section gives me DLC Gormott theme vibes at first before just going full mega hype mode. you absolutely nailed it, kept the original's energy but added plenty of your own spice to keep it new, great cover!
What a multitalent, absolutely killing it every time. I love your arrangements, found you through your other xenoblade covers and was blown away. Here are some of my favourites in all of gaming music history, maybe they inspire you :) Keep up the awesome work! Dark Cloud OST -- Shipwreck Death Jr. - Parlor Tricks Dark Chronicle OST - Starlight Valley & Underground Water Channel Halo ODST - Asphalt and Ablution Dragon Quest VIII - Heavenly Flight Lost Odyssey - Never-ending Journey & The Gun Barrel of Battle / Battle Conditions and some that are probably harder to turn into jazz Luigi's Mansion - Game Boy Horror & Professor E. Gadd Diablo - Tristram Village
i heard one of your arrangements and i recognised the artist immediately. you've got such a nice style! there's so much effort that goes into these videos. thank you for making them!
I absolutely love just how more cinematic these past few videos have been. Not only have you become so good at playing a variety of instruments, but even down to the lighting and framing you are bringing one gorgeous (and fun!) viewing experience. The gold really pops out in this one :P
I can't get over how good this is. One of my favorite pieces of music from a video game, and an incredible musician performing it so incredibly. Really can't ask for more!
YES This is probably in the top three of my favorite arrangements of yours. Maybe the top. Everything part was written and played SO WELL. And that trombone choir sound at the beginning and end just sounded so smooth!!! I'm looking foward to your next tracks so much more than ever now.
Holy brass, Batman! It is so phenomenal to hear such rich brass, sax, flute, and rhythm parts when it’s all being made by one person!! This arrangement just proves once again why you are the greats in jazz today!! Yet another piece to add to the Favourites playlist :D
God I love me some Xenoblade Content and this has to be one of my favorite songs in the series. This cover is amazing! The addition of the brass instruments really work with this song. Definitely one of my favorite covers on the channel for sure
Just started XBC2 again after years of not touching it just when you released this! Just hit the final chapter last night what a game and what a soundtrack.
I don’t know why I didn’t get my notification for this yesterday :( but it was a pleasant surprise for when I opened up youtube today! This is one of my personal favorite songs. This freakin rocks
Your music and videos always make me smile and feel inspired as a musician. Thank you so much for bringing such amazement and wonder into my day, and keep being awesome
