I enjoy your version better then the original. I dont know why but this is probably my favorite piece from any final fantasy. Ide love to be able to play it myself but have not touched a piano in ten years and have forgotten all but the basics. Maybe someday...

I have watched a lot of piano renditions of Gilgamesh on RU-vid, my friend, and I have to say yours is hands down the best. You manage to pull out so much more depth and richness to your play than most others do. It sounds like you are playing two pianos at once, which is an incredibly difficult thing to do.
well this is all from memory, but I think the difficulty level can be compared to like...Fighting or One-Winged Angel from FF piano collections. If I were to take the exam, I'd choose the most Chopin piece possible, and the ones I took at, in the repertoire, arent too hard
Well some of it is self arranged. but most of it is from the Piano Collections ver, found at ffshrine, go to my profile for the link. If you want to play it like this though...I've only changed the intro, and added triplets in one measure. Also changed a lot of the dynamics.
Great stuff. I can play the beginning of this song and friends are like dude how the fuck can you move the fingers so quick when I on purpose speed it up a little. It's very difficult song to learn, it's so speedy and so many difficult parts in it.
oh yeah i know its originally from FFv . but in the piano collections the intro calbee219 played is not in it. so i was wonderin if it was taken from FFXII or was it an improvisation? :)

I have heard the orginal. um I dunno if you watched this video at all... I purposely added several fermatas and rits, that arent on the sheet music. So I dont know where your comment comes from....and well Volume...I go from softest to loudest in some of my videos and even that range is hardly noticeable...I have the camera to blame for that one...oh well
hmm to be honest I wouldnt be able to tell you what grade Im in, because I dont study under a teacher. There's a lot more freedom studying the piano by yourself ;) but I've talked to some ppl and taken a look at some grade10 exam pieces...and I dont see how they can be very difficult at all

They could have done a way better job with arranging the PC version, with some krazy runs similar to the OST version. Oh well...
hey this is calbee219. this actually isn't that fast. The tempo I chose wasn't supposed to match the PC version. If you listen to the OST version, the tempo between it and my version isn't far off at all.
to learn and perfect? about 10 hours. I threw in a lot of time with the minor arrangements that i made with it...so a piece like this shouldnt normally take me that long. because this Gilgamesh is very easy to play

oh my god! dont worry it wasn't too hard in areas wer yhoo think yhoo should be soft! oh and those triplets, they gave it, um... a bit of---... texture! lol :P but i think the p bits are way too soft sounds better if yhoo play them mezzo or hell do it andante to sort out that parts speed!

this is also Calbee219. if you have the sheets for the intro, its actually simplified a lot already lol for easier playing. A more accurate intro is in my latest video, random piano practising

so I love all the final fantasy games and I own practically all of them but.... I seem to have been mistaken with these songs .... are there 2 being played here??? As in the first part we hear being the Bridge part and then when he pauses he transitions into the actual part where u fight Gilgamesh??? someone plz help me out here x.x im totally confused lmao! The only errors you made were barely noticeable, and if someone didn't know the piece in advance, I doubt they'd have heard them in the first place. You did a fantastic job, this is a tough piece to play, and the additions you made to it made it true to the OST version of the piece without taking away from the piano collections version. I love it!
I see. so it's not exactly the arrangement of the official OST music sheets? you know, the ones found on ff shrine.. I really admire your talent a lot. and I hope to see you also playing the Nightmare of Cave if ever. it's short but powerful you should try it. ^_^
The so called "Sweep picking" at the beginning is wrong? ;/ but rest was actually pretty good. God, I swear the intro was way more crisp than it sounds haha. Hmmm it's still pretty good if you crank up the volume" You must add a few more notes in the intro :()
actually its better to call it battle with gilgamesh (btw a little spoilder) after you fight him on the bridge the next time you fight him they play the song again but its on a boat. god your very talented. i know some friends who can play this song but it takes two of them at the same time lol.

YAY first rating and Comment! well i loved the intro, not a big fan of Gilgamesh PC all by itself but i enjoyed your improvisations (not sure on spelling!) throughout the whole song. especially from 2:30 to the end!
lol how come everytime someone plays a final fantasy song on the piano its always extra fast, its like okay we know your a talented beast u want to show off your skills but play it at the original tempo next time

Actually, not. The piano is made to be played with both hands, and usually the left hand makes the "drums" or bassos. The right hand makes the melodies - it's not very hard have them sound together.

I think I can definitively say that this is the best piano rendition on the Tube. 'Grats, I've seen many. Your expression and tempo choice are just a step above.
