dropped a like only because you mentioned the worser performance through shadow play and that tried to find a figure how much the impact would be. im was always worrying that the reviewers werent mentioning it, so i was satisfied that you did. i was searching for my new gpu and this give me important clue. i now have the 1070.

the GTX 900 series will be in the history book. Just like the 8800 series was. One of the most reliable series released for a long time. Been over 2 years since i bought my GTX 970 and i still max out alot of games on 1080p. And i won't upgrade for at least another year. Love it!

Hi tech,great video as always,have a quetion for you since im from the middle of nowhere (portugal xD) i bought my gtx 970 a year ago(at the time i didnt even know that pascal was a thing). the thing is i have it paired with an i5 4690k not overclocked and i game in a full hd 1080p monitor. my quesion is wil i still be able to play current games and future games at solid framerates?above console at least? recentely im playing assassins creed syndicate and i get over 60 fps with dips to the high 40s, is that expectable with my rig?or is there a problem with this performance? sry that was 2 quetions xD... thx

I’m using GTX 970 in my6 core cpu with 8 GB and 256 SSD and I plat Doom,Battlefield 1 &V and still I am happy with the smoothness and look of the graphics. I would say it is one of the best graphic card ever made.

I have gtx 970 SLI , do you think is good to play at 1920x1080 to ultra ? or is better to buy one single card , 1070 ?

This is actually a very interesting video now after so many patches. It appears CPU load has increased requiring a more powerfull cpu to maintain similar numbers. How about a revisit? Has the performance of BF1 really degraded or is it just peoples (and mine) imagination?

Unrelated to the point of the video but what CPU cooler do you use? Also is CPU overclocked? I ask because 55-60 degrees seems a bit hot for ~50% load.

is there any difference between 100hz and 144hz? i wanna buy an ultrawide, currently holding up and waiting for the 200hz ones hitting maybe soon but my patience runs dry and thinking of buying the 348q asus, at 100. would there be any difference in terms of fps visibile to the human eye? i ve been playing bf1 mostly and that runs very good at 60-80 but it can go up to 120 sometimes...i think that 100hz is more than enough for any game to run smooth. i don t see the big fuss for going more than that. but maybe there is, i never tried it. i would give it a chance tho'. what do you guys think? i'm talking about strictly fps now. i would pay a couple hundred bucks more for that HDR, quantum dot if it makes a significant difference in visuals. i'm only buying a monitor once every 5 years so fuck it, YOLO.

sure, the 1070 is a bit overkill for 1080p NOW but what about the future? Games will get more and more advanced eventually. Plus, it might be nice to have a little more headroom, because I know my 970 does drop fps in hectic situations.

How are you getting those frame rates with the 1070?! Mine doesn't perform that well at all. Your getting 140 fps and I'm getting 80 - 90 fps.

is your i7-4790k overclocked? because i have the same cpu at 4.00ghz and a 1070 and my cpu usage is going upto 97% at times and my gpu usage jumps around 80-70 and sometimes goes down to 60% and causes massive frame drops, i can't figure out what the issue is because this processor shouldn't be bottlenecking this gpu.

Hi, a friend of mine and me have a big problem with framedrops in BF1. You have the same GPU in your test, so perhaps you could say something to that. We have the same system and same problem: CPU: i7 2600k (overclocked to 4,1 Mhz, around 70% while playing with all settings on ultra) GPU: Zotac GTX 1070 amp extreme (GPU load 99%, around 60°C, no fan movements so far) Mainboard: ASUS Sabertooth P67 (PCIe 2.0) RAM: 16 GB SSD Sandisc Ultra 2 Screen: Samsung, 27", FULL-HD We have around 35-40 fps in FULL-HD on maps with 64 Players (no difference between DX 11 or 12) resolution scale is 100% (in the beta 42% was the same like 100% in the official version) In low video settings, we only get araound 60 fps in FULL-HD. In 4k (testet on separate screen) I get araound 22 fps in ultra. And it's better not to bring the resolution scale over 100%, than I get massive framedrops. Our idea was, that PCIe 2.0 (mainboard) isn't fast enough, but many test say that this shouldn't result in such a loss of performance. So what's the bottleneck in your opinion? What would cause the GPU and CPU to both be consistently below full load while playing with VSync off? I've seen this in some FPS compare videos.

Do u use the aggressive fan profile on the 1070 FTW? I have the 1070 FTW too, but my temps stay at 72 degrees celsius with the aggressive fan profile. My room stays at about 72 degrees ferenheit. is there something wrong with my 1070?

I just upgraded from a 970 to a 1070 actually =D since the release of BF1. I've a question for you though. I've been noticing that every 5-10 minutes, the game will just freeze for a second. Sound keeps going but image stops, then it resumes in about 4-7 seconds. By then I'm dead of course. I thought changing the video card might help, but it hasn't made a difference. Nor does running it on Low or Medium settings. The interval between freezes is a bit longer at lower settings, but that's it. It's perfectly smooth otherwise :S I'm very confused.

I have two Gtx 1070s in SLI and a core i5 6500 clocked at 3.5 ghz, but when I play battlefield 1, I can get some unexpected fps drops down in the 40s, but most of the time my FPS is good, I see other benchmarking videos on RU-vid and the FPS is higher, what might the problem be? A driver issue perhaps?

Which programs do you use to give you your performance statistics on the side?

I like to see my current graphics card beating other cards.

hey Tech Deals, I had a question. I played Battlefield 1 in the beta and It was playing fine. The last day of the beta it started running really bad. I got a EVGA GTX 1070 SC after the beta and I have a AMD 6300 FX Six Core 4ghz. Even after I got the gfx card the game still runs really bad. When I look toward the middle of the map i get 35-45 FPS. Otherwise i get 55. (No matter what quality I play on including Direct X 12, and the memory setting.) Could the processor be the problem? Please respond. Thank You!

This was kinda stupid in a sense that none of the tests between the cards were run on the same map. How am I gonna know how big of a difference there is between these cards? Some maps are heavier than others.

It should be noted that adding 5% is not the same as a 5% drop in frame rate. Might need to go back to Algebra if you didn't understand that. It's all about the base. ;) .... Base number that is. I could tell here how to do it properly but you wouldn't revisit Algebra, would you?

how the hell are you getting 85-100 fps at 1440p with the 1070? and also is it overclocked? I've been debating wether to get a 1440p/144hz monitor vs a 1080p/144hz i want something bigger(27"->1440p) but not have low fps like 60

perhaps try controlling your test parameters next time. I sense a little bias towards the 1070, realistically the 1070 is not that much faster than the 970 as you make it appear to be.

Would it be worth using a 4k monitor with the GTX1070? I have the same card. In the next few months I will have two of them. So I really don't think it would be worth purchasing a 1440p monitor since I will sli them in the next few months.

instead of using shadowplay use geforce experience it cut back 0% of the fps and i use it to record overwatch on ultra with my gtx 1070 and i have vsync on!

I ve been using my i5 4430 for 4 years and only in this game i've faced really annoying bottleneck, i ve got max 70 fps during the big match with 64 players, and in average even less than 50fps with frequent drops to 35 in high intensive scenes with 970 it is really time to upgrade, but i don't have enough money for skylake, because here in Russia with our trash economics comp tech is really expensive

Why do people keep saying the GTX 1070 can't play games in 4K, it gets around 60 FPS in 4K in most games!

GTX 1070, 1080p or 1440p resolution. Why GPU usage is so low (percentage) in this case scenario? It seems that i7-4790K is a bottleneck for GTX 1070. I would like to buy used GTX 1070 for my i7-4790K, but after seeing this I think I will give up the trade. I'm sad.
