BF1 is a work of art. Nothing compares to it, everything has so much impact. Just yesterday i was holding an objective and it was a controlled game, looking at the openings with my squad. And then the blimp fell down on us, destroyed the cover and the ground started shaking while the enemies flooded in. In a matter of seconds gameplay changed dramatically, it was a beautiful game

BF1 was the last of the old titles I think. A true passion project that cared little about controversy and stupid stuff like hero characters and cringy skins. Sure some of the skins in BF1 can be a bit garish. But they're not emersion breaking for me. On the contrary, unless it's Christmas seeing an old Russian man running around in a santa suit would make me want an ice cold shower

Battlefield 1 is my first and the best battlefield I’ve ever played. I’ve passed about a thousand hours in this game. But not even BF4, or BFV (which is just a copy of BF1 with new title) can make feel me the same, like I played BF1 for the first time. This is a true masterpiece. Please, don’t let this game die.

Most of the og developers left during the development of BFV citing EA restricting their creator freedoms etc. Most likely BF1 is last pure, genuinely great Battlefield we will ever get. EA executives have destroyed this franchise. Why not develop a game that other games want to copy, why just senselessly think what works in fortnite will work in every game? Why push irrelevant and contextually inaccurate 'wokisms' when there is literally zero need. Why completely ignore your fan's suggestions and criticism for the last two releases? It annoys me, I'm sorry. I loved this franchise.

The peacekeeper animations have more personality than bf 2042 will ever have. It's a grind? Yes. It's satisfying? Yes. Is it worth it? Ask the guys with 100.000 kills with it.

2042: Attack of the clones, good luck differenciating friend and foe in the heat of the moment. BF1: That man has a stahlhelm and is dressed in black, he is my buddy. Hell, I could tell the difference between the White and Red armies on the russian civil war maps.

I will die on the "BF2042 feels like CoD" hill. After BC2, BF was definitely more CoD-like than previous BF games but it struck a nice balance without trying to directly compete with CoD (even though it ended up like that). High TTK and less hit feedback is novel BF at this point. 2042 is fun but if I want snappy movement, flamboyent animations, fast-paced gameplay and low TTK with very high hit feedback I'd rather just play CoD. It's like all modern games and movies are starting to blend together now.

On the french map with poppys, i had a clip where i jumped into a trench and bayonet charged and stabbed with melee weapon, atleast 8 enemies in rapid succession right after the other and was just going insane before they killed me

right when they were tuning BFv to be an actual good BF game they decided to leave it at half of it potential and focus on BF2042 if only we knew what whas about to come and we didnt fall for EA lies we would have rather to wait for BFV to reléase all its planed content, the pacific teather actually got the spirit of BF they where actually on a good path

BATTLEFIELD 1 was an excellent work, but the problem with team balance was more noticeable. Also, it's very difficult to unlock weapons, so I don't recommend it if you start playing now. I envy people who own Peacekeeper.

Battlefield 1 has Fairfight which keeps your game free of cheaters, it basically force them to play legit, it even picks up on esp'ers.

I was totally onboard but then I realised you play Support...

No one "wants" to be on the battlefield. The people that put themselves on the front line did what they had to, but if given the option they would most likely rather things go peacefully. I think EA lost the plot when it came to 2042 about this. The characters in that game act like they know they are in a game and want to be there, killing each other.

Even today, I still don't like BF1 as much as BF3,4, or bad company 2. The atmosphere of 1 is fantastic, the soundtrack is perfect, the single-player stories are alright (best being the runner by far) but overall it needed the love over those updates to get it even close to par with BF4. The game is still good by all means, but has some terrible balance issues with vehicles and SMGs but still definitely feels like a BF game. BFV even after all the updates it had doesn't even come close, it was too political at launch and when they said "if you don't like it, don't buy it", the game practically died. 2024 didn't even feel like battlefield anymore, and even with the portal mode, severely lacked content. If they had just gotten rid of the operator format entirely and focused on brining out more maps/weapons, it would have probably been an alright game at best since it did introduce some interesting stuff with the gadgets, calling in vehicles, and larger maps/player count were all decent changes. It just fell so short with how unfinished it felt.

Even the voice lines are better 2042 they have the soldiers actually scared and horrified at whats happening around them
