With reason the issue of explosions and larger and more detailed holes in general was for that and I imagine that they reduced, that mainly so that they are not camping or so that the explosions and the destroyed terrain do not consume more with the 64 vs 64 Players, it makes sense that they do that in a certain part, I did not like that that they abandoned that part gives it more realism but hey

I think 2042 is going for the pure 3d modeling for stuff like that, but it needs more time to be at the level of bf1/V, and even more time to be better than photogrammetry

@@tacotuesday2489 lmao I tried that one time and just died instantly in the explosion, what the most fun is jumping off at the last second and watching the blimp explode and crash down below you as you parachute down.

I even had those vibes in BF4 when the commander called in cruise missiles, or somebody operated the remote heavy bomber. There were even ballistic missiles in the background of Sunken Dragon that gives me the war vibes (I think they launch like every 2 minutes, look toward the US spawn) Unfortunately the current DICE devs, aren't the same ones who worked on BF4 or BF1

I'd been asking myself just like you did for a while, just could not understand why Bf1 still looks more impressive and immersive than Bfv and 2042. I'd watched numerous of videos about Bf1, Bfv, and even 2042 and realised that physical effect, environmental texture, light effect, contrast and model animations seem to be the points of making Bf1 so much better compared to bfv and 2042. I'll take the model animation for example, Bfv and 2042 have a fast-paced animation and have less movement than Bf1 does, result in Bfv and 2042 are less realistic, and they look just like Fornite. You can check out and compare the gameplay videos between Bf1, BfV, and 2042, but only focus in the animation and you'll see. And still, there are tons of other reasons.

as far as I can gather, the earliest maps for BF1 launch were made by old DICE Sweden. The difference in the development crew is really noticeable in every aspect of the game.. I'm sure the new team are talented people, they just unfortunately don't know the frostbite engine yet. It keeps getting worse, as the BFV crew immediately left DICE because of poor reception. And the same just happened after 2042.

@@positivelycurvedpikachu Yeah... heard that too, didn't thought it would be such a big impact... :( DICE were the best team from 2002 until 2011. Then alot of big experienced developers moved on and new untalented joined, mostly from CoD

It is better in the graphic aspects but in the details of the weapons or the explosions or holes or more detructions of the houses it is useless with 128 players and of course I get investment from the game, but in the end it is a great game but I did not like it that detail that why did they take it out

BFV looks better but BF1 holds up damn well

BFV actually does look more photorealistic than BF1, if you have raytracing turned on. The textures were crafted intentionally to be baked under raytraced soft lighting. With raytracing off however, it looks grainy and oversharpened of course, which is why people thought BFV looked worse. 2042 is built further from the BFV engine and looks even grainier, suggesting 2042 was definitely intended to be seen with raytracing, but unfortunately we have no RT option.. I'm guessing that will come in a patch 6-12 months post launch (just like the HDR update for BF1 took a year)

@@pissyourselfandshitncoom2172 in some aspects maybe, but idk to me maps like sinai desert just seem unbeatable. Especially with the details on the rocks and mountains, the sand itself.. etc. I found the foliage and some other things in bf5 to be a step down, but it definitely has improvements too

It made gameplay so much worse, it's too much chaos (and not in a good way). 64 was a good balance. They could have at least given us a choice, but nope all you can play is 128 player lobbies.

Idk I feel like I’m not playing with 128 and I’m thinking this is probably a 32 vs 32 on every match I play lol

This bothers me the most out of everything! I've tried every setting with the audio and usually I use war tapes. And nothing in 2042 fixed that! It's so dull and flat mixed. The guns are comparable to air-soft shots haha. It's just not a true feeling of "war" when it comes to audio at all. It feels so linear.

The b17 flyby is a pretty cool sound. That's about it LOL

Bf1 and bf5 are nearly the same game yet one sucks lmao

Tbh they did fix BFV a lot and now it’s quite good.

That's because after BF1, a lot of the original crew behind the game started leaving and supposedly DICE as a studio had shifting priorities. For example, DICE was passionate about BF1 because they wanted to make a WW1 game and EA didnt think it would work. Whereas in BFV DICE thought the WW2 era needed to be changed so it's not "Another WW2" game. They pushed things like female soldiers, battle royale, and lesser unknown battles. Don't get me wrong, the female thing isnt wrong but I feel like they should've waited for a modern era game to push that sort of thing as opposed to a WW2 game

I just find it strange that the main part of the game that had 4 studios working on on it and sacrificed a single player mode as a result, has less dynamic destruction than a side mode made by a single studio.

Maybe it's a "copy and paste" but the game costs 70 fucking dollars and this Portal mode is supposed to replace the campaign so no excuses possible

this is a 70$ game. full price, released game by a studio that would be able to buy your entire bloodline. they're getting outclassed by indie developers the standard for triple A has dipped extremely low, all of that because of publishers who only want games to be dropped. honestly, stop defending the game. it's a cash grab, the patches are simply there in order to try and get back the playerbase lmao btw, battlebit remastered, a low-poly indie BF-like game on playtest had more players than BF 2042 lmao
