Intro music from Battlefield 1942 without SFX. (NOT ripped from game - Original recording). Best music ever composed for a video game in my opinion. Composed by Joel Eriksson. Enjoy!
They nerfed the Yamato ship. If you watch the Forward cannons closely while they fire, you will notice it only one of the three big guns is actually firing out a projectile and the rest are firing blanks.
Hans Zimmer is not the greatest music composer. Not even the best in the style that's been in vogue for the past ~15 years. He's among them, but remember: The original Pirates of the Caribbean music was created by Klaus Badelt, he only co-produced it and then built upon it in the sequels. On the other hand, he can do varied stuff, like in Interstellar.
@@arloc357 Hans Zimmer is not the composer of this music as you know. It's Joel Ericsson who created that masterpiece. Although I love Zimmer's music. Literally everything he composed. So I know why you brought this name here.
@@NostalgicGamerRickOShay Zimmer's "apprentices" have basically taken over Hollywood, that's why everything sounds the same now. Back in the 80s and 90s you had Goldsmith, Williams, Poledouris, Horner, Brad Fiedel, but now days you only have Zimmer wannabes.
20 years... Dear God. I still remember everything single detail, from getting the game, installing, opening, starting the match, el alamein, waken island...
Noah Gawthorn We would all love that but would EA listen? NO! :( Y not? cos they want to use DICE as a money mine from those 'battlepacks' microtransactions and expansions. BUT they might put the development of a re-make to another developer. who knows eh? :)
+kian abidi I think they are allready working on Battlefield 1944! There was a thread named "We, the people, would want another Battlefield WWII themed game" And it won! they might begin devolopment very soon! HYPEEE!
It's amazing how the human brain works. When I focus on the song - it is clear there is no sound effects. But when I imagine the opening sequence I hear all the sounds clear as day.
I love how the melody on this is played on a French horn. A unique instrument choice for a videogame soundtrack. You won't see anything like this in the future, you can be certain.
this was the second game i ever bought for myself for pc. from wal mart in the pc gaming section when i was a smol lad. i bought this and age of empires 2 with no idea what either were at the time. I had been playing computer games (mostly browser games and older stuff like myst that my dad had. ) but this was one of the first games i ever bought for myself. sad to see the franchise where it is now, but dice was a very prominent part of my childhood and i'll always remember the good times
What progression? They butchered the series with the shitty shooting mechanics, killed my favourite kit and started usig electronic music instead of this :(
2000-2002 ok we have to think of good background theme that it would fit with whats happening in the game 2016 fuck it , play a remix or something conclution ppl used to care more about the music than now...
For us Battlefield veterans the sound effects will always be audible. The sound of tanks moving down the street, planes strafing their targets, air raid sirens, bullets firing, Katyusha rocket barrages, and even the worst sound of all: Our brothers screaming as they slowly die.
i *STILL* get goosebumps listening to this (even without the soundeffects and intro vid.), it's just so damn epic ! That bit around 50 seconds in where it picks up, wow
Drop a brick on a guy's foot? A chuckle. Accidentally get a cut with a knife? An angry 'ah fuck'. Play this? Full on tears with admitted "I've never been so proud to cry". If you've ever wanted to see a room full of men 30+ tear up, all you have to do is play this.
I still think this track is the perfect representation of World War 2. Sure, it doesn't capture the horror of it but it captures the heroism of those that served perfectly.

this game started it all for tons of people including myself. from a walmart acer playing bf42 on dialup to my custom computer playing bf3 on ultra everything.
Just like pirates of the caribean soundtrack is the most amazing one amongst movie soundtracks, this is the number one within computer game soundtracks. It is just not as popular as the other, but in my opinion comparably amazing!
@Conner Jacobus She's a pretty incredible woman, she's still massively into PC gaming and now has 2 kids which are turning out to be little badasses like their mother.
My headphones are turned to the highest it could possibly go, my ears are bleeding from the earrape but no extra in sound, no tanks explosions or planes, that's all in your head
