Forget World of Tanks .. this was brilliant :) This was just a mod, but lord it was slick, balanced and knocked the hell out of anything that's available today !!!!!!! DICE would do well to look back at this and the original Battlefield 1942 as they have lost there way as regards to gameplay.

To me 1942 was the best online experience I'd ever had. I used to play endless hours. I'd like to start playing again but one thing that's an issue. You need lots of players or it isn't much fun. The maps are expansive and with few players it's difficult to really get into it.
I can still remember the day my team got rekt so badly on this map. The topmost control point on the middle of the map has kind of a mountain face to it. I was playing the middle eastern forces and we were trying to hold the point, but the US team had a guy in the MLRS rocket launcher shooting rocket after rocket into the mountainside. When a rocket hits, it creates giant boulders that fall, and the guy pretty much made a never ending boulder avalanche that kept killing my team over and over and over again, must have died like 10 times. He abused this mechanic so badly to the point it was completely ridiculous, was laughing my ass off. Won’t ever forget that
I'm wondering if this is actual recent gameplay of this mod. If it is, this is quite exciting to see that this mod is still alive! I hope to be on the servers within the next few weeks.
I've been playing on a DC COOP server. Back in the day, the pvp servers were often empty because you had to wait for players. In 2004 my game club had a DC coop server. The spoilers would come into the server and were naturally attracted to joining the opposite side figuring it would ruin every ones game. Before you knew it, you had a great pvp server/game going on. The server was the #1 ranked coop server in BF 1942 because of it. I wonder if that might still work today. In the European server I'm playing in (I'm East Coast USA) it has already happened twice.
I could kill jet with attack chopper no problem this game was skill base no lock on BS just aim where they will be and let it go. no matter how far I could be if I was in chopper or jet your team is done. I win again lol.
WOW I 100% remember this game and this best DC mod. Everyone would let me fly chopper or jets I could not be stopped. And back then everyone new when I was in game. And yes battlefield games took a shit they started every battlefield game taking hardware out. Battlefield 1942 scuds subs battleships attack choppers aircraft carrier. now battlefield V not even choppers WTF the next battlefield game what is the next battlefield game with no tanks. They need to change there name when battlefield 2 came out. thats no battlefield with out ships and all the hardware they keep taking out game. Just name this a field FPS shooter.
