Battlefield 2042 Random + WTF 31

Yeah, it's extremely f$%king annoying. Just more nonsense audio thrown into the audio queue making it harder to hear footsteps or important things around you.

@@Ravic Didn't prior games do this as well? They were generic 'thank you medic' voice-lines, but they did exist. Fair enough if they annoyed you back then too, and I do think that the prioritisation of audio in 2042 isn't the greatest. The prioritisation of things for 2042 in general is weird, to be fair; apparently the AKS-74u got a new reload animation this recent patch. Also, I think my audio set-up in 2042 is strange. I rarely, if ever, experience the loss of audio from foot-steps that I see many players online bring up.

@@Slenderneer The voice-lines didn't exist like this or in this form in prior titles at least not in ones before BF1. The bad parts of audio/voice-lines in BC2, BF3, BF4 were the third person audio lines that would get triggered when something happened nearby. For example throwing a grenade near an enemy you could hear their soldier/character cry out something because there was a grenade close by ( grenade fishing or using grenades to find/locate enemies in bushes, etc. ). However that was something that wasn't always mirrored in the enemy player's first person perspective. That is why it was bad, you had no idea that your character or soldier was crying out or using a voice-line that anyone nearby could hear. So not great but with BF2042 there are way, way too many first person voice-lines that your character calls out and third person call outs or voice-lines from friendlies nearby that can't be heard by others, only you or only your first person perspective can hear them. When it's in that form it's just useless noise that has been added. Which means you should be able to turn it off since it only affects you and not any other player. Because if you're in a gun fight and pinned and there are explosions going off there is already enough audio interference to make it harder to pick up the important details you then get further handicapped because your character or all the friendlies nearby are crying out ( but only you hear it from your first person perspective ), but the enemies pushing nearby won't hear that and if there are less of them or they are alone they'll have the greater audio advantage in that fight since they'll be able to hear more or have a clearer audio picture. It's another one of those first person and third person issues where things don't match or aren't synced but it's worse in this case because it's more annoying.

Ravic has his movement keys transposed over from WASD to something closer to the center of the keyboard iirc.

He uses ESDF, where you rebind the movement keys all one to the right to give you more keys to reach compared to WASD.

It's not about that, it's about console players using bolt-action sniper rifles and getting multiple tracers when firing once. It makes it hard to tell which is the real shot and when they are actually re-bolting a round. I've never experienced it when facing a PC player so that is why I pointed it out.

@@Ravic ohhh my bad I didn’t realize that he had a bolt action in the first one as well. I would say it’s a strike pack but since they are using a bolt action as you said i really have no idea lol. I haven’t encountered any bug like that before that’s actually really crazy.

It's not about kills, it's about Sectors being more important than the objectives themselves.

This has been in Battlefield for a long time, proning with your character makes stop shooting, to avoid drop shooting

I'm pretty certain it's just an audio bug. I've had the incoming and outgoing lock tone switch up on me multiple times in the same vehicle/life. It most often happens to me in tanks when I switch from first to third person while designating someone or being locked.

​​@@Ravic Tried fiddling with the all the audio settings, nothing seemed to work. So likely a bug. Shame, I do enjoy that warning sound more. Sometimes the regular one can be too quiet if lot of stuff is happening.

​@@Ravic I did some testing, apparently Pondhawk has it but I think it only happens if you switch seats to secondary seat and then back to pilot seat. That seems to trigger the bug.

128 player, the 64 player versions of maps are pretty bad for Conquest and the Portal maps from previous Battlefield games feel like bad imitations that just make me sad.

Nope the svd and m14ebr have sniper tracers for some odd reason

@KissaKassKot That isn't what I was highlighting or pointing out in those clips. You can see when I run over the weapon on the ground from the player I had just killed displaying those rapid tracers was a SWS. I was pointing out that console players with bolt-actions for some reason get double or multiple tracers when firing bolt-action sniper rifles. Whether it's some weird console related bug, consoles possibly having fluctuating or lower client tick-rate, who knows but it makes it really annoying to tell which one is the real bullet and when they are actually re-bolting the weapon.

@@KissaKassKot The reason they'd have sniper tracers is due to being vault weapons; specifically, BF3 'sniper-rifles'.

@@RavicOnce again, thank you for explaining something that I couldn't figure out myself! Would this be the same type of thing that can happen when the console player gets into a TOR tank and fires at me? Sometimes I see what looks like two or sometimes three rapid shots firing out of it and one may hit without doing damage and another almost knocks out the vehicle.
