True, but not at launch. BF2042 has been out for only a few days, and it's being compared to a game that's been out for a few years. There is no comparison.
@@ScruffysServo even on launch battlefield v was still a better game than battlefield 2042. Before they started messing with the visuals because of visibility complaints battlefield v maps looked one million times better than these battlefield 2042 ones
Yeah because a product should capitalize on the previous entry, the idea is to use the previous game as base and build on it, not completely rip it apart and start what seems from scratch. If a new game that is 3 years younger comes out looking worse than the last game then that's a problem
I’ve loved bf5 from the beginning. If it had more gun customization it would have been perfect imo. I wish with 2042 they would have stuck with 64 players and just added and made that experience better
@Bravo Six Only thing bad about BF5 gunplay is TTK is too slow especially at ranges. The damage drop off is insane. But people complained about BF5 gunplay so they went back to BF1 mixed with BF4 random deviation lol
BFV has had the time necessary for best possible gameplay and general quality of everything and I’m sure overtime so will bf2042 but it’s already of to a decent start if you ask me
@@angelot.7935 All BF has awful launches tbh. Like BF4, people seems to forgot how broken this game the 1st year after its launch. Now after some patches and new contents were added, it became one of the best BF games out there. Like BFV, it became great after some updates. Played over 400+ hrs on this game and totally enjoyed it.
@@jfygt2623 Unfortunately I can't know what the first year was like having taken it 1 year later ... But it made me very angry that although we improved it, They did nothing to bring new content such as the Soviet Union, Italy, and other axis countries ...
Not completely though they have the same amount of detail tbh and I much prefer the way bullets impact the ground in 2042 and how much more realistic the grenade marks are
Hands down, BFV looks better. The lighting, textures, details, and overall ambience is far better. Comparing the two, BFV has a much more "clear" look to it. Pretty sure BF2042 was dumbed down for cross play which imo, was a massive mistake.
That was not the reason, it was dumbed down because a lot of the frostbite engine devs left Dice because they didn't agree with EA and the game EA wanted them to develop. There were just not enough people that understood how to get the most out of the engine and it clearly shows. EA wanted a battle royale and just copy whatever was popular (apex, fortnite etc), devs didn't like that so they left. EA just doesn't care about the battlefield community, but they don't see that battlefield games have been successful because battlefield stood out, not because it was "just another shooter". battlefield 2042 is a joke and will not be improved to what we hoped it could have been. And from what I can see, we don't need to wait for the next battlefield because they only want to expand on the specialist bullshit and storytelling, the next battlefield will be an even bigger joke, made by people that aren't allowed to think, managed by a company with managers that don't know anything about making games and don't understand that basic marketing tactics don't work if the product sucks.
@@MrSkyl1ne Yep. Since I commented I've seen more stuff surface about development. They result is a combination of inexperience and not enough time. Dice isn't Dice anymore.
Heres a person with the head in the ground. Nextgen consoles holds up with amazing graphics, have a look at the new matrix game. This situation is created by lazy devs that just want a big cashgrab.
@@OGNovemberSix Did you seriously say I have my head in the ground and then proceed to compare a video game that is hardly multiplayer aside from Co-op compared to bf2042 which is hosting games with 100+ players? That will easily create a disparity in performance when you start including more players. 2042 still needs better optimization and was rushed but your argument makes no sense.
@@shaunom8363 I disagree. BF1 was the first BF game that finally added those animations and I thought it would carryover ta latter games. Not sure why it shouldnt be in modern era ones. Very first Battlefield (1942) wasnt modern era and that didnt have vehicle entering animarions. So if they could added it to WW2 era (where BF originated in the first place) I dont see why it shouldnt also be in modern era ones.
Went back to it after the 2042 beta, it's way more immersive. In 2042 I feel like just playing to get kills, but in BFV it feels like trying to win a war and not just rake kills.
What a wasted opportunity with BF V. With the right customizations and not stuff like elite soldiers or batman outfits and golden weapons would have been probably the best ww2 arcade
It's sad they stopped the support early to focus on 2042, and they now have 2 half-baked games. V is amazing right now, and it's missing half it's content...
@@Ellie-qv4pu vanguard is amazing, it may be missing half its content but it has all the same modes we see every year with the new patrol mode which is so innovative along. The game is amazing because it try’s nothing new at all aside from feeling faster paced and the amazing 12 attachments feature put in just to support the guns in warzone!
2042's graphics look very unnatural for some reason I can't put my finger on exactly one specific but it just looks fake like you're playing in a toy town. I did notice that it's only 50 to 60GB in size so that's not much of an upgrade from the past battlefields bar V it's as if it's getting harder for devs to upgrade their engines competently.
It’s a cross platform game, which is unfortunate because it means they have to save frames for last Gen players. It happens and in a game like Battlefield it’s noticeable
To be honest if Battlefield V had cross play and Control support on PC I’d be playing it much more then 2042 for some reason the maps where more memorizing.. and let’s not forget the animation & detail! don’t get me wrong 2042 is & was a great experience it’s completely beautiful but it’s missing a lot. and I’m glad battlefield is back with a Big Bang glad I’ve been playing for years but the maps just don’t give me the enjoyment BFV did.
@@MiguelXABI14 no its bad, glitches, bugs and the lack of content makes it a unfinished product even more so that you can have better performance playing bf5 on 4k than bf2042 on 1080p.
@@chrisp2588 It kinda does, and acting like a concrete wall should explode and crumble like it's made out of wood is just silly, it's not an excuse to say that it should be more destructive because it's simply a bf game or just a game in general, there is a balance.
@@raionshishi8290 I'm not saying it should crumble like wood, but concrete also crumbles more satisfyingly in older Battlefield games. There seems to be a lowering in the modularity of the destruction in 2042.
@@ottovonbismarck8460 Well, the future in this game is based on the results of global warming, so maybe it's just fuel powered cars that look futuristic (It is the year 2042 in the end). Besides, i'm not sure if electric cars can blow up like that after burning up.
I disagree. When you shoot a bazooka in 2042 the car simply sets of fire first but the car is still intact which is not as realistic as bf5 when the cars is blown to pieces iand shoots all over in the air.
2018 and 2016 were the platinum age of the games we had best games in story , gameplay, graphics and very strong realistic details like 1/Red Dead Redemption 2 2/Battlefield v 3/Batman Arkham Collection 4/The Amazing Spiderman 5/Ratchet And Clank 6/Uncharted 4 7/Titanfall 2 8/God of War 9/Injustice 2 And there are many masterpieces games in different years and strong games like these games but 2018 and 2016 had many masterpieces games but the other years had masterpieces games not as much as 2016 and 2018
Bf5 had all this detail in craters and destruction because they wanted it to be a more bloody, dirty war like experience. 2042 is more arcade like and sandboxy
ok but BF5 is a finished product, BF2042 isn't. They said that on the 19th there will be a patch to fix bugs / glich and optimization. Of course they will correct again if needed ...

I have to say that BFV is still my favourite game till these days. Honestly the fact that they let you personalize the Axis with even buyable skins blow me away at the time (I was coming from COD WW2) and looking at Vanguard now I am really happy that BFV is still alive and appreciated.
Wow, you are right. Battlefield 2042 almost looks blurry in comparison. I suppose they sacrificed graphics detail for making unnecessarily large (and incredibly bland) maps.
@@mrfoldmyshirt4404 battlefield 2042 definitely has improved lighting effects minus the parts of every map that needed shadows disabled for the sake of optimization
Destruction in 2042 is a joke compared to BF5. Even in BF3 it looks better. Guns sound and feel like toys in 2042. Overall sound is bad. Graphics are good, but textures look unnatural. Not to mention dozens of good features that are missing. But useless features like ammo resupply zone indicator is there, as if before no one knew they should be near ammo crate to resupply.
I think what was the most entertaining about 2042 was when you shoot a pile of pallets with a gun, it causes all the surrounding stacks of pallets to explode. Gotta love that half ass attention to detail...
Because it brought many great mechanics that's considered one of the best in BF history especially in regards to teamwork, it was redeemed by Pacific update and showing the potential that it can reach once team started pouring more effort into it, last but not least adding authentic cosmetics and adding more weapons/gadgets. So what's not to love about this masterpiece?! Many of us were hoping that they'd carry over the great changes & enhancements from BF5 to BF2042 but in a modern setting, it would have been perfect.
@@Motinhox you are wrong, because they have to fix the latest bugs / glich and optimize the game better on PC (which by the way there are no Nvidia drivers yet) in more from season to season they will add weapons, maps, operators and will also expand Portal
With vehicles on fire, BF5 is so much more accurate. Battlefield 2042 is just a fire animation on the vehicle, with metal on fire. But with BF5 it accurately shows the engine and so much more.
@@Chadowgon5 the material of the current tank does not shine because it is matte; in real life too. You can't compare a shiny tank to one that doesn't pretend to be shiny. Mental
Things that 2042 only has: - fired M44 bullets have a little mark on them - M44 has the ring of fire thing - trees react to helicopters - small and big Vegetation reacts even to small grenades - Tornado changes color when it goes from sea to land - Tornado is a different sized in different maps. - when you fire into the ground mud splashed into your screen - sprinkles can create raindbows - Vehicle leaves tire/tread marks into more surfaces than previous games - shockwaves are visible in big explosions - soldiers sneeze when AFK - Soldiers starts to tremble in cold maps - air resistance in jets (fog)

That won't happen , unless they really fuck something up. If they'll release the next game in 2- 3 years, well already be long out of the cross gen period and the game will be fully 9th gen centered. That should massively help the visuals. If it doesn't, something really went wrong.

BFV has alot of stuff wrong with it don't get me wrong, but it atleast felt like a sequel to BF1 and a modern return to form. 2042 on the other hand I chasing trends (even more so then BFV did), and is really more of MW2019 Lite. Yeah portals is neat, just ask yourself how long will it truly last?

Thank you for this Video Comparison. I thought that there was something wrong with my TV or Game settings when installed 2042 but nope it's the quality that was produced so sad, returning tomorrow and sticking to 5
As someone who played both on PC/Ultra, I think BF 2042 graphics feel crispier. The anti-aliasing method they used on BF5 is worse, even BF1 is better in this regard. And not all maps have the same graphics quality, for example the peak level of BF5 is Rotterdam. It's Manifest for 2042 imo.
Probably the bad thing about BF2041 is many of its effects were scripted and not naturally react to the environment, like when you shoot the wood, the entire wood blows up, unlike in BF5 which the wood fence is gonna got damage in specific area where it's being shot. Or when you shoot a window glass, it counts till certain number of shots till it breaks the entire glass in BF2042. The physic in BFV almost seems to be as the same as in RDR2, where environment can react to gun shot using AI (?) that has been coded to the script. So environment can react randomly to whatever action being done to it.
Once we trash the everlasting crap out of 2042 at launch, we will be ready to sing it praises 3 years from now when the next BF game rolls out. The never ending cycle continues...
BfV honestly looks better than BF2042, but I understand why since there are bigger maps and now there are 128 players in one match. It would have been too difficult to optimize the game if it had better graphics. Besides the graphics still look awesome.
I like the animations and effects in bfv it seems like 2042 has less of it tho. But i can understand why people dont want them to me 2042 just seems kinda bland
Re downloaded bf5 today after playing 2042 since it’s release cause I felt like going back to some ww2 times and imo it’s far better from the graphics to the gameplay to the immersion the intensity of the battles are wayyyyy better it’s a lot more exhilarating don’t get me wrong 2042 is fun but BF5 is dramatic
Imagine we have all the texture and effect details from BF5, vehicles and weapons from 2042, color and lighting from BF1 and mechanics and environment from BF4 My wet dream for battlefield
I feel like Battlefield lost its indentity. Other studios should do it or something to show EA how it should be done ... too bad Modern Warfare Ground War mode wasnt a bit different
Lmao. Other studios can't unless they want the optimization to be absolutely horrendous for players. The frostbite engine DICE uses simply outclasses everything else.
As much as I love Battlefield 5, 2042 just has the atmosphere that I love. The futuristic vibe is something that I have been waiting for in a battlefield game for a very long time. I think people see these videos and make their opinion without even playing the game. Anyone that says "This doesn't feel like a battlefield game" has never played it because holy shit it does
Bf2042 does have amazing graphics, colors and animations. But personally it doesn’t feel like a war zone… it’s too clean. War is gritty, gruesome, filthy… so it isn’t very war like.
This makes me sad. Like so many others have said. Why are developers going backward in game development? Literally, all they had to do was take bf5 and skin it to 2042 and it would have been a better game. I feel ripped off.
I saw a video where they showed the animation of a btf5 character that when colliding with obstacles the character reacted by losing his balance. does anyone have a link to that video?
