This gave me chills. We did not know what we had. My friend knew what he had so he skipped school. Legendary games that will live on in our memories. When i get alzheimer's i will still remember these games. Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.

BF3 still holds up to this day. Release date was Oct 25, 2011 and I could thank BFBC2 for introducing me to the BF series and community. To think I was 21 when this came out and now I’m 32. I wish DICE still kept their magic with 2042.

I remember it very clearly. Me and my friend got home from school, we both bought this game and started playing. We had the discussion of how good games will be in 10years. Well now 10 years later I just want to back to bf3 release

Battlefield 3’s Aftermath DLC was incredible. Not only new maps and weapons, but completely remodelled characters and vehicles. So much love used to go into these game.

"Can we have this again but new?" I'm with ya there, Jack. Battlefield 3 was absolutely magical when it first came out. It was a brand new Battlefield experience and significantly ahead of its time. Yes it had a lot of bugs but the game was the most fun Battlefield game I have ever played.

Battlefield 3 still feels more realistic to me than 2042. It´s something special about the graphics and textures that is just abuot right. Today i play noshar channels and caspian border in portal mode on 2042 but i really miss firestorm. Hopefully there will be more bf3 maps on 2042 but even with the new textures i would say it looked better before, i do miss the yellow flowers on caspian border since it gives it the bf3 look.

I used to make BF3 montages back in the days. Right now I am installing the game again. Thank you for the reminder for this fantastic game Jack!

BF3 was among the best time i've ever had gaming, the beta itself was an experience like i've never had before. I have no idea how they time and time again failed to recapture it's greatness.

BF3 was one of those games where you knew where you were when it cameout and what you did when you played it. I remember getting this for my PS3 and spending so much time on it until I moved over to the 360. An absolute gem of a game, the sniping was perfect, the vehicle physics were fun, I’d spend so much time strapping a C4 to the 4wheelers and driving straight into people. The gunplay was super snappy and beefy. Visuals never wasted a second of your time. I loved the theme of that game so much, the blue data glitches and the vibrant orange explosions as the backdrop for the menu. This game was the perfect in between era game before the modern style of games and right after the desert storm era of games.

This was the peak of gaming, miss those times!

Nearly 7.000 hours in this game and it’s still worth playing. This was childhood, this was the epitome of dice‘s work. E3, gamescom built up hype and it was worth it.

I still remember the shock this game gave me when I played the tunnel map during the beta; It was my first experience with BF after having played only COD before back then and it was glorious.

Crazy that bfbc2 and bf3 are a year apart, bf3 really was so ahead of its time. The lighting in the first campaign mission always stunned me back then

Battlefield 3 was my first BF game. I really can’t forget my first game on Operation Firestorm. It was so damn cool. I really miss that magic of a time, when everything was simpler ;(

Battlefield 3 was such an era. I used to run that with 2 AMD 7970's back when Crossfire/SLI was still a thing. Such good memories.

bf3 showed us what could be done with large scale maps. and DICE did it beautifully.

I wish I could play this game again but I'm banned from most of the servers, back when Discord's overlay was still a new thing I got a false positive ban for it (at least I think that's what it was).

cant believe this was released 2011 what a great times the graphics and gameplay is way ahead of time some games and people was less soft to make games closer to real life conflicts

I don't know about others. But I genuinely feel that BF3 had the best maps in the entire series. A lot of those DLC maps were bangers. Would genuinely love to have someone go through in an in-depth analysis of the life cycle of BF3. I remember trying to get all the Coop Achievements with my friend. Was horrid.

Look up Venice Unleashed. Its a BF3 Mod community with all kinds of active servers. If it gets forgotten, you can always launch it and play your BF3 heart out with bots. 1:12

i built my first PC to play BF3 (i used your video "build your own steam box" as guidance) such a great game!

BF3 and MW2 just had it. It's hard to explain, but they really did have that magic in them.

This was the game that introduced me to multi-player, made so many friends and so many hours put into it, to this day mag and bf43 and bf4 still my favorites.

As someone from OCE I really wish I could play this again, judt numbers wise there's just no one playing 😔 but good to see the gameplay again!!

I remember picking this up the day it released and the hours and hours of fun me and my friends had. The feels.😢

Battlefield 3, I was so much happier, so full of hope. It still has some of the best map design, especially for its time. The Paris maps were my favorite, I remember this specific server called Rush to Paris that was just the Paris maps on rush plus Tehran Highway. The DLC maps were also incredible, Close Quarters DLC, Armored Kill, Aftermath and the beautiful maps of the final DLC End Game. Really incredible time. We need more variation in maps again.

Everything about this game just reminds me of my childhood. As Jack mentioned the whole stealing someone’s dog tag was such a great achievement back in the day but that wasn’t just it, Jihad Buggies strapping C4 to the jeep and yeeting it into enemy tanks, the MAV glitch allowing you to get to spots you weren’t supposed to and snipe unsuspecting opposite team players. So many iconic memories, what a true masterpiece of gaming this game was❤

In my opinion, BF3/BF4 set the standard for the franchise and I believe with an updated engine/UI, they could release these titles as remastered in todays industry with no changes other than the aforementioned.

This is the best Battlefield game of all time. No discussion. The immersion and feeling this game gives you is on a different level. BF4 and BF1 are close second to me but this game was just something else man.

The best battlefield for me. The atmosphere this game has is insane. It also has the best maps. Just classic after classic. Caspian, metro, kharg island, Damavand peak, gran bazaar, firestorm. Noshahr canals. Even the dlc maps were sick. Epicenter! God damn!

There hasn't been a game where I've had as much fun as in BF3. I will remember it forever... Great memories with even greater friends 💜

the original seasoned DICE team of developers are gone forever, we are transitioning and passing through a dark era to hopefully give birth to more seasoned and passionate developers, the ones that gave us, bad company, BF3, BF4.

The simplicity was key. Gun play was snappy and satisfying. When you were in a vehicle you didnt have 20 people locking onto you every 5 seconds. Squads actually playted together and helped each other. I truly think therre is just way too much going on in 2042 and i know, controversial opinion, but also felt like this in BF4. BF3 was just so good man.

Can we finally admit that the suppression mechanic was a massive part of why the combat was so intense in this game? BRING IT BACK! 😁

I love that this was my childhood and this era, just the best action movies and games, never seen before stuff and just outright fun and mostly cool looking.

This was my first and favorite Battlefield game back on PS3 after playing the beta. Greatest FPS I've had the joy of playing, everything just felt right and hit all of my boxes in what I loved in FPS games. CoD could never touch this to me, not even today

I remember when the single player gameplay trailer released. It looked so next gen at the time and still holds up really well.

It's ok man we all wanna go back, but what's important is the good memories we shared with the game that's that matters maybe in the future will get a remaster or get a new battlefield to create and cherish better ones.

2008-2016 was truly the pinnacle of Battlefield multiplayer video games. A simple ass formula and EA/DICE managed to fu*k it up beyond belief.

I really miss the aesthetics of this game. The blue tint and look to the viewmodels, weapons, and vehicles is something i've missed in these newer FPS games. Playing this on console was a great experience.
