Thnx for the video! I used to get wrecked all the time and i needed to get air superiority ribbons for unlocking ucav. After watching this video i managed to compete with others and get the ribbons in after some practice. Mastering the speed control made me a decent pilot instantly instead of a noob! Never knew this was the mechanic in flying that was so important and made me a better player! I also im hooked now on flying! Great videos!
My main mistake is that I play a lot of BF1942 in planes. I have the multiplayer all patched, I have all the DLCs, there are a handful of servers which are populated, and in BF1942, planes are ALOT different. First of all, they're propeller planes, not jets, they go a lot slower, which makes it much easier to strafe ground vehicles as you have more time to search for targets, track him and then engage. Secondly, they actually had limited ammo, so you had to land in order to refill your ammunition once your 1,000 MG rounds were expended. You also had bombs on all planes, with a greater variety of planes, without having to upgrade them. The main reason, however, is that in BF1942, your plane will crash if you don't hold W. If you hold W, you'll speed up, if you hold S, you'll lower your throttle, but not pressing anything will slowly decrease your throttle and result in you crashing into the ground if you don't do anything about it. handheld AA also didn't exist, so you had to deal with the static but annoying flak guns.
Ghost Gaming - Improve Your Game yeah, I have held the lock on, but the missle always seems to slide along the ground and explode as it approches the tank. Rather than attacking from above :/
In a stealth jet, when you are doing vertical loop, are you using a booster while you accelerate up of the loop or you let your jet speeding up by itself?
For some strange reason, I've mastered my turning at keeping my speed at 305, but when I try to do this loop even though i'm keep my speed on my way down at 308-310ish, it's still really slow? Am i not understanding how to accelerate on ps4? I thought it was just holding the left thumbstick up as I go into the top of my loop, but it doesn't seem to work. Could you explain to me what I'm doing wrong??
It depends on the jet, in the Stealth jet you need to afterburner towards the top of the loop a little. In the Attack jet, you have no Afterburner, therefore you need to start accelerating just before you hit the bottom of the loop to give you the inertia to get up the other side
That's where I'm confused. The attack jet has no afterburner so does that mean, I would hold my left thumbstick up. I can't figure out what accelerate is in the attack jet. If I pull my left thumbstick down, my jet slows down so naturally, I would assume that pushing the left thumbstick up would be to accelerate. Am I right? If so, that means as I slow down during the down part of my loop, when I hit the 6 o'clock mark as my jet is going back up, then I would press my thumbstick up and use that dip to gain momentum as i go up, right?
It worked! Could you make some tutorials on how to use the jet when the camera isn't locked. I've seen other people use it with a lot of success and i'm sure it would help other people out.
Ghost Gaming - Improve Your Game How do you turn so easily though? I'm on a pc and trying to strafe the mouse over my whole desk is just plain annoying. Did you reassign any controls? I got some extra buttons on my Performance MX so I might do that...
Got my ass beat earlier today by some sweaty Ace. I’m on PS4. Didn’t know much on dog fighting but I wanted to work on my piloting skills since I decided to come back to BF4 after all these years.
ZmTopReasons No, I haven’t been on bf4 for the last couple months. I’ve been playing a bunch of other games since then like Ghost of Tsushima. But for the time I was playing bf4 I managed to unlock a few guns that I never had before so it was time well spent
Shits annoying In 2024 no fucking videos show how to do it on XBOX all is nothing but stupid PC getting annoying tbh lol especially since people are sweats now
ghost i have little problem in shaking the tails,i seen your video but still cant fully understand a good time to switch,i tried also now having issues switching from vertical to horizontal,i go diagonal instead. And im on console,
Can't thank you enough for FINALLY giving a clearly explained tutorial on HOW to achieve the lauded "315" in jets in bf4. Great tutorial and can't wait to see your other jet tutorials. Thanks! Keep em coming please!
Thanks man! I spotted this as something nobody had ever really explained to me so I'm glad it was able to help others, more tutorials and jet gameplay coming soon!
Great tips, but nowadays 90% of the time the guy you are trying to tail (or the guy that's tailing you) is a pro. 10% of the time they are an amateur. So it's pretty much impossible to have fun with a jet unless you are a pro.
Ghost Gaming not my experience either. hey what actually is the perfect turning speed?, and is it different for both jets? I turn at 306-308 and have perfect turns (you can kind of feel it move swifter) but when I learnt 300 was the mark, now I am hearing 313 is the perfect speed, so WTF so many different speeds said to be optimal, maybe they have tweaked the jet since this vid. can you tell me what is the perfect turning speed please.
You probably should have mentioned that you use the optimal speed when someone is firing at you. Not when you're flying around taking out targets which is the main chuck of time in a jet. Good video though.
I know this is a 7 year old comment, but this is exactly the comment I was looking for. I thought I was the only one. He only says "you should keep your speed in the 300-315 range", which could be assumed to mean at all times. I assume he only means when turning, but it's not very clear.
I used to crash everytime i played jet not knowing a single thing !! Then i followed your videos and practice in the training . Now i can take out tanks and other jet pilots , however some are really tough to take out !! Thanks a lot for helping us with these videos !
i cannot even shoot boats who are not moving !! have to turn so many times ..and then I quit the mission .. is too hard to get a steady aim .. before I see it and aim then target is already gone
I come to this video every two months or so to try to figure out if I forgot the technique to dogfight properly or if I'm just bad at the game because whenever I think I've mastered the speed, some dude comes and out turns me like if it was a stealth jet
Ghost thank you very much, I don't want to bash other people, but watched another jet tutorial and it was so confusing to someone new and made my head spin. Anyhow just watching your vids for a week and using test range, I am finally harder to kill in jets and got my first jet fighter ribbon. I haven't even played air superiority at all yet, but will tomorrow. You truly have no clue how bad I was 2 weeks ago...... Hitting trees, mountains, the ground, I avoided jets before and now it is all I want to use. The game has expanded for me now, it has become new and fresh. Please make more jet videos, even just you playing without too much talk, whatever is easier for you to do. I'll soak it all up, thanks againl
Awesome mate! Thankyou so much, you don't know how much this pleases me :). I've been on vacation and just got back so I'll be making more videos soon.
World cup vacation? Sorry England disappointed once again, I'm a Greece fan and they have never even made round of 16, obviously I am rooting for USA being here.
Gaming With Aneervinya not really honestly. I try to get up in the jet at the begging of the match and if I don't, I grab a phantom bow and go to town. If you believe a good player who commits the time to getting good at jets can't be good in other aspects of the game you are wrong. I can still grab an extremely underpowered gun Ie the bow and pick headshot like mad, while timing my engagements and playing objectives. You never lose those skills unless you commit yourself to only flying jets. And even then you would be doing more work for your team if a single fighter can take out ten vehicles by himself. I'd rather have myself in a jet than on the ground in any scenario because chances are if someone else takes the jet they aren't doing as well as I would be. Or worse still they ditch it after flying to their sniper perch and let the enemy jet rule the sky and ground until it respawns
Ugh, I wish I can practice dogfighting with another jet, but it's so difficult because every server I join has level 140 pilots. And that kill me instantly. I'm gonna cry
tbh i have been trying since a month with the jet and practicing all over but at some point it makes you feel incredibly frustrated how dumb bf4 made the flying control in this game. There is to much you have to consider. gravity speed turning aiming etc. If i am playing a game that is new for me, I would expect me to learn how to get used tot he controls in less then an hour. Every game gives you an early feeling on how to play or control the vehicle etc. This game instead lets you get killed atleast 500 times to be able to decently fly and take our targets on helicopters or jets. Really incredibly frustrating.
I cant even see my speed because the numbers are so tiny. And I lost you at the clock part. I guess im not cut out for jets in bf4 no matter how hard I try. BF3 was way easier with jets. I could kill everyone but in BF4 I onlu got 4 kills in 3 weeks from jets and thats playing continuously.
Nice video. Here are a couple of pro tips from myself: 1. Combine loops. Doing the same loop over and over again makes you an easy target for the AA and the other jet. 2. If a jet is behind you trying to get behind you right after it has spawned it's usually a good idea to loop towards the ground when they're near you. Most people don't have the courage to loop directly after you or will crash. 3. The 3rd person view on the Q5 fantan(if i rememember correctly) makes it shoot at a steeper angle then it's 1st person view. This is extremely helpfull when dogfighting another decend pilot. 4. Last tip: If you see a stealth jet coming straight at you it's usually a good idea to pop your ECM since like 70% of the time the pilot will either have heatseekers or activeradar missiles equipted and aimed at you(because the main cannon is shit). ECM rarely deflects missiles that have already been fire at you.
Thanks man. Some nice tips there, especially 1 and 4. Things are only going to get harder for dog-fighting in Attack jets. By the looks of things they've had their turning speed seriously reduced over on the Xbox platform, so I guess that's what's to follow on PC and PS.
One More, never go too near a jet or helicopter if it have heatseekers and have locked on you,As if heatseekers are launched from close proximity ,they hit before the warning, like heat seekers -Light speed Warning-Sound speed
I've watched a few of your attack jet vids tonight ghost, v.good mate. Props. This vid i think is the key to where i'm failing i reckon(braking etc), feels like i cant turn quick in the jet. thx alot yeh, gona get on the test range now right now. cheers pal!
How do I decelerate with controller? Sorry, I’m trying to get better with jets and I’m having trouble with speed and my aim sucks :p and I’m trying to learn how to get out of dogfights
Whenever i play on foot, a tank or btr owns me. I get pissed off and take a tank, then attack heli says hi. Then i say ok, if i take aa we will get some air superiority. Than a nerd like ghost himself jdams the sht out of me. And then the last link of the chain, stealth jet, well that one is complicated and you have to spend a lot of blood and tears, but now i feel comfortable flying stealth cuz i dont screw my k/d. Not an ace, but i can still defend my self against any other vehicle, and still have chance to kill infantry with it. imho its the top of the food chain so far.
For some reason I have a grudge against lav's I always get killed by campers at the back of the map, so I just get a rtv and bomb the hell out of them with c4.
I’m a little late for this party but how are you flying so smooth with a mouse? I have to constantly pick up and drag the mouse seems like you don’t have that problem.
Wow! This video is really great! So much useful information, I can't wait to put it into practice. I remember I loved flying jets in bf3 and in bf4 it was like I lost my game but after watching one of your jdam tut I have since gotten back into the pilot seat and improved greatly in a short time, but those looping dog fights always get me and after this video I'm realizing how much of a jet n00b I really am. :D No where to but up! ;) Thanks you!
Hey I've appeared here in 2021, crazy bloody year so far so let me distract you with a question: When you tap decelerate, how long do you hold it for? Is it literally just a tap or do you hold it for a tiny moment or? Because I have to spam when I just tap it but I slow too much when I hold it so like 😬😬😄
here we go battlefield.... time to clean the dust off and actually try to learn how to fly correctly...... this video has me installing bf4 in 2021... you win I guess
The speedometer is okay to master speed but I figured out how supreme pilots turn even faster. The "G" gauge under the "P" and "M" calculator tells you how many G's you are doing. if you can do 9 to 10 g's you are gonna beat someone trying to figure the cornerspeed.
Hi Ghost, my plane decelerates as soon as I begin to loop horizontally. So I have to accelerate actually to counter the effect. You said that you are decelarating while looping? Is it something with the options?
I cannot understand the clock analogy for the life of me. Could be cuz I’m tired but idk if you mean the clock is in front of you or if the clock is around you??
Just an update. I managed to get three of the five kills I needed for the ribbon in a conquest server in an attack jet. Laser guided missle on a tank with 2 people and then a jet that crashed. For some reason my laser guided missles always seem to miss :L they seem to hit the ground next to the tank rather than the tank itself.
Hey, Ghost. Where is the speedometer in the jet? The numbers above and to the right of the countermeasure I assume is the altitude. Can you help me out?
I played one guy that no matter how much I tried to follow him he would do some weird maneuver that would always get him on my 6. It never failed even 40+ deaths Later
I want to just say (belatedly) that you are my inspiration right now. I am trying so hard to learn to fly in a jet, because I LOVE JDAMs, but I suck at dogfighting. I got killed three times by an ace pilot, left the game, watched this video and then went in and kicked his ass! (well, pressured him into crashing.) Thank you +GostGaming and please, make more BF4 videos!
I like your vids! The jets were the only aspect of BF4 that I just couldn't feel like I was in control of my experience. I was attempting to control my speed all wrong until I watch this and now I with about 80% of my dogfights in the Attack Jet on my first day. The Stealth Jet is "easy-mode" now unless I'm up against a good pilot.....I was getting so frustrated before because I couldn't stay alive once a jet saw me. I still can't get many kills with the attack jet, but its a least more enjoyable to stay alive for a while just to learn how to find targets and aim.
