random gunner = bad idea. 90% will spam MG at anything including enemy tanks, then when you get out to repair ( becaue they won't ) they steal your tank and waste it within the next 30s
I cannot count how many times this has happened to me. The problem for me is that random gunners will fire off the machine gun whether they actually have something to shoot or not, simply because they are bored. This reveals you when you're on the minimap and it has totally ruined a stealthy approach for me multiple times. Interestingly enough, I find that whereas gunners stealing tanks in BF3 is almost a guarantee, it happens so very rarely in BF4. That may have more to do, however, with the fact that I only played normal in BF3 and I only play hardcore in BF4. Hardcore players are just a little bit more about their manners, perhaps?
I just wanted to say that this is by far the best walkthrough I've seen on vehicle customization in Battlefield 4. Great job man. It was a massive help.
I love gunning for good drivers. I repair always when possible, can gun groups down with ease, keep 360° awareness and prevent c4 rats + i have rpg selected and hopping out in a tank fight nearly always landing a hit to get my tank driver the extra advantage.
Quick amendment. "Reactive armor absorbs some of the shock from incoming attacks, requiring hits to deal higher damage to count as critical." It does not completely absorb the shots as BF3 did. It is still the choice for that upgrade section, however. Auto loader may be the only other reasonable choice. Again, subjective view point.
When I get bit bored of Sniping, I like to be a gunner on any vehicle (tank, heli, boat, other land vehicles). This is especially fun if you got a decent driver who can move around efficiently. Down side to this is that once you (and your driver) become very efficient on the kills, there is increase in opposing o.p. using rockets to blow the vehicles up (...obviously and expected). I had a blast being a gunner on a boat in a Rush map (the one situated on the ocean/island).
I am lvl 38 and it's been a rough road. RU-vid has helped my play a lot. This video is the BEST video I have seen on tanks, bar none. It is comprehensive and easy to understand to someone who has been in a tank a few times or more often. If you are interested in tanks in BF, watch this video- then watch it again! Thanks!
Man your tips helped me a lot.. Never before did I find this many combined tips on a specific topic for bf4 , thanx man for creating these and keep up your good work.
One thing I don't think you mentioned, and rather important. The repair tool has the same effects as rockets when it comes to damage, or in this case, healing as well. That effect being angle. If you repair/heal straight on, it actually does more than if you were facing it at a slight angle. I believe it can be something like 8-10 points a second at an angel. But it's 25 when facing dead on. So in other words, face a tank directly and do the fastest repair/damage. Turn at a slight angel and it drops considerably. So although you may feel the need to run around the vehicle while you repair, it would actually be faster to stand somewhat still, or at least strafe side to side, but face perpendicular to the vehicle at all times if possible. Especially while damaging.
I just proceeded to attempt to go onto bf4, join a conquest gameplay and hop in a tank...but bf4 insisted on placing me in an operation locker, domination server. Why did DICE have to break bf4 again. The same happens for rush so no tanks there. This is frustrating. I assure you pick, as soon as bf4 stops being broken, I will put your knowledge to good use.
Great video, learned some new things that I wasn't aware of even though I use tanks every game. Thanks and look forward to the next video. Hello from the UK :)
After seeing this I decided to go straight on battlefield and see what I could do. This video alone helped me level up my tank more time in one match than I have been able to do in 5 matches. Mainly it was things like using reactive armor and changing to auto loader. It helped in more situations than I thought it would. Reactive armor seemed like it was helping but without it I just happened to go 58-4 in conquest. I took out 2 tanks at a time a few times just because of this video. Thank you again for making me a formidable force on battle field. Would you consider doing the helicopter or jet?
thx for the tips verry usefull :) !! just whant to add for everybody info that the 40mm grenade are now as much a danger as an rpg or c4 for. I don't know if its the same in normal-core but a few days ago while playing in hardcore I parachuted over a tank got a hit that made about 10 damage by shooting in on the top of the turret while in the air but then i landed behind him and I only needed TWO DIRECT hit on his back to kill him ! the first one diseable it the second killed it without someone else helping me in anyway. so just to say that these grenades are not what they were in BF3 they do a lot more damage if you know where/how to aim and you must not underestimate them :)
Ok there are some crappy gunners that spawn in but what's worse if you spawn in on a crappy driver and you're the gunner. And they take the tank in areas that I don't think are the wisest places to be such as flag D (I think it's D) on the caspian border especially when it's just you 2 going to take the biggest choke point ever. And attackers have the disadvantage. A driver even tried going up between the rocks instead of the road once. I think the driver was more interested in getting the kills than the flag. Either way sometimes it's best to wait for other members of your team before going in. I've had more luck taking that flag on foot personally.
And to answer the question of "how come I didn't jump out then?" I did and I watched the guy drive the tank to his death. But it happens a lot. But it's a waste of a perfectly good tank and the tickets.
you forgot the quick switch between pilot and gunner (best to bind to mouse scroll), when you are out of ammo, so you keep killing infantry and air targets
I feel like AP is much better for tanks with a hmg. This will help you snipe and destroy tanks. Use AP and staff just for sniping or being a tank destroyer.
Crazy that you're getting hits on enemy tanks for 50 damage. Typically mine will be about half of that. It must be the angle of impact when i take my shots. Great guide!
Angle has a lot to do with it. You deal the most damage with a direct hit. And tanks are strongest in the front so aim for their sides, rear, or turret.
hey man, despite all the patches this is still a great loadout and helped me, and I really liked your helo guide as it turned me into a beast in the little bird :) i was wondering if youd make a jet guide because thats the only part of my game im shit at
Nice vid-as usual. I always eagerly await your videos as I am waiting till Christmas for the Xbox one, so I haven't yet played the game. It is made even worse as I have battlefield for the Xbox one and cannot play it :( ps. Are you making new tutorials for ranged sniping ect. For BF4?
I made a sniping tutorial that covers all of the basics like my original one that I'll probably be posting tomorrow. If I can find servers that have long range sniping in them, I'll do another one, yes.
The best map for long ranged sniping in my opinion (cause I love sniping) is hainan resort. There is a big mountain on either side of the map to snipe down on the map. Good luck.
great video tho dude, im in top 20 ranking for LAV and trying to get to top 10 Battlefield 4 on PS4 - RACE TO TOP 10 LAV RANKING As a pro driver ^^ DO NOT USE RANDOM GUNNERS unless they are good in scoreboard.. you get noobs shoting at fuk all that just breaks down your concentration which then you lose sight what is happening in your surrounding also give your position away! another tip for active protection is use and get away,, but fully agree with your counter measure point i used to do exactly what you said. Liked and subed good job good point..
10.40 10000000000% agree ALWAYS GO DOWN NEVER GET OUT! As a driver never repair.. never get out.. for even 0.00001% chance of you losing the tank or LAV if a good driver gets in that tank your team will lose.. that's how much difference a good driver can make! every point this guy makes will make you a great driver, if you see the fight is not yours dont go in for death play smart always wins.. trick them never stand in one spot! dude whats your ranking?? i see a pro driver here..
Thanks, but I don't check my rankings.I have no idea. With regard to the staff shell, I don't use it. I compensate for it by playing more defensive. I can't substitute out the HMG because I feel I need it for infantry threats.
Whats up pick ? On my phone your vidéo only appears to have hq quality i dont know if you uploaded it like this or if is my phone anw nice vid as always keep the good work dude ^^
I had to use different render settings than usual for this one because it was far longer than my usual average. If you're on a bandwidth cap, I'm sorry. I'll be back to the original settings from now on.
Great vid man ;) found your channel right now... Sry for my english i am from Austria ;) i am new to the BF- thing and need a lot of tips. Love it to fight with the tanks but i'm not sure which setup is the best. For the main weapon i try the HE- shell but for longer distance its difficult for me to hit targets. At the moment i'm using the standart shell and the 50 cal mg. Nearly everthing unlocked for the tank :)) like your vid... Peace.. Rabbit
I'm currently posting my 12 minute sniping tutorial right now. The reason why I didn't do it in one is because of how much more there is to cover for sniping and recon in general as opposed to one vehicle.
#PICKSIX Does proximity scan even work why I ask is I have seen a lot of RU-vid vids with a whole lot of different options from it only works if the enemy is moving to it doesn't work at all I'd be very grateful for your opinion
