Battlefield 5 still has a tonne of players and is a blast to go back to. Also, the new Batman movie is pretty good, let's discuss! Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Seems like a trend that's happening more and more in the gaming industry. A company will make a game, people don't like it.. so they make an even worse game, and people go back to the previous game and end up liking it more, which boosts it's sales. Might it be a coincidence.. perhaps. But it's happened on multiple occasions, and by many different companies. Seems intentional to me.
@@14Lokas I'm not saying you can't have fun in BF5, or that it didn't do some things well. But it had many instances of poorly implemented updates, which in trying to fix problems, often made them worse. As well the game didn't have as many expansions, and they cut the development far too early. Is it better than BF2042? Yes. I didn't say it wasn't. But when compared to some of the earlier games in the series, BF3-4, BF1, it was not as developed and many promises fell short. And resources were used in it's Battle royal mode which didn't work out, thus taking resources and time away that could've been used in the multiplayer or expansions.
Honestly had so many great moments on breakthrough like holding the line with a tank or an lmg, the game started to get really good but unfortunately dice wasted it on 2042.
@@modernbassheads5051 I mean it's still got the framework of a decent BF game in there but the main issues are things like the map design, they're terrible. there's only like 12 guns and 6 maps in the main game
4:17 What a pleasure to see these rocks waiting to be used as a cover. Would be awesome if you could take some of them and put it in a "next gen" Battlefield game. I suppose they weight a ton and the "next gen machines" couldn't processed properly. Or maybe the developer's brains aren't next gen at all.
I’ve never played battlefield before 2042 and after witnessing that mess I’ve decided to give one of the older battlefields a shot. Downloading it right now on Xbox actually.
I never understood the hate this game received. I love it and I still play. The WW2 vehicles, weapons and atmosphere is just great. Especially the planes
I liked the planes too, but air to ground became very painful when they made it so that the bombs won’t land where the reticle actually is (awful call by DICE), however air to air was still good fun.
It was mainly the fact that it was based upon fictional battles from theaters of war nobody was familiar with. I never had a problem with that. Best gunplay in the series and I missed crouched running and mantling a lot when they were removed in 2042.
people hated it at launch mostly, same as 2042 (chances are we're gonna love 2042 in a few years when its fixed) thats the interesting thing about games, even though we technically dont "own" them we do have the ability to play it at any time in the future, as long as the launcher doesnt die, so completely bashing on a game when it launches and never playing it again is silly child behavior, just shows how little patience they have and how they dont believe it would get better, when actually every game in existence has gotten better since their launch
There were lots of bugs (2042 makes this game look perfect bug wise with release), and some members of the community went after the women in ww2 as well as the prosthetic arm skins. I never cared about the second part but some REALLY took way too much offense.
Battlefield seems to always be pretty good after about a year or two. The thing is WHY IS THAT YOUR DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY? They seem incapable of finishing a game by their deadlines and they need a huge management change
DICE has more or less embraced the "release it now fix it later" mentality that *everyone* rightfully hates. This is why I never buy their games but instead play them when they're added to game pass (which is usually when the game gets good with the exception of 2042)
I find it fascinating how BF V was considered the worst entry before, so much so that Dice just outright abandoned the game entirely with it's low player count. Now compared to the new BF 2042, BF V seems like a hidden gem to players. I guess we all assumed that they couldn't drop the bar any lower, and they did exactly that...
I've been playing bfv for several years. I've never had an issue finding a game. Even at its worst, there were many, many full lobbies to get into in every game mode other than TDM and Firestorm. More people are playing it now, even the previous haters who just got on band wagon on hating it are enjoying it. The bf4 Chad's can't get over that BFV is a good game, and has the faster modern gameplay movement. Unlike when you boot up an older game, even bf1, they feel clunky and slow.
Most of the negativity is to do with the semantics before launch and the terrible state it launched in, and also the empty promises. But as the game stands today its solid.
There's alot of little things that people hated about the game like the random recoil, recoil not being tied to the center of the screen like other fps games and previous titles, No full health regen, forced TAA blur that makes the game look like a blur and you cant turn it off, and the vehicles being dumbed down and made easier to use. No Autobalancer, Elites, Slow animations to do everything, And for a very long time you only had 2 mags for all primary weapons so if you were a player who actually pushes flags and stays alive alot longer you'd always be forced to use a pistol. Other than those problems alot more of the hate comes from the PC side because it had terrible performance and stuttering and crashing problems for the first year and a half, the anti cheat doesn't work and there's still plenty of rank 400+ some even lvl 500 cheaters roaming around aimbotting, Server crashing problems, And there's still a huge problem with clans stacking and killing servers.
That's what social media does. People molds their opinions from others instead of actually thinking by themselves. BFV lacked some stuff at launch, but it has always been very fun with perfect movement and gunplay. Sure, it's more polished now than around launch, but that goes with every game.
I love these conversational videos you do, Jack, where you just talk about things you've done recently. Very much looking forward to seeing Da Batman, hopefully soon! It's awesome how BFV has recovered from its dodgy launch, similar to Battlefront 2 :D
Agreed! Aside from Jack having an awesome temperament, and being just a really good dude all around, that he does these kinda introspection videos is super interesting. They always get me thinking lol 😎
I normally use the BAR, surprisingly. It's just really powerful at close ranges with all the modifications unlocked, and with the slow rate of fire option, it's really effective at medium ranges.
@LibtardsStillCant SilenceMe20 BFV makes usability changes to pretty much every sight picture in the game that play well into the fact that it's a video game. For instance, the rear sight on the StG 44 has nowhere near as large a 'notch' (in-game it's more of a valley) in real life, but this is acceptable in-game because the only thing the player needs to worry about is whether or not the front sight post is aligned with the target. That's not at all to say that I disagree with what you said - all of the irons look nice and are pleasant to use, and I prefer them over any of the alternatives myself. My personal favorite is probably the Commando Carbine - crystal-clear picture, laser accurate, and gives no directional indicator when you hit someone.
DICE needs to continue what they started with BF5 (after the pacific). Give us new content for BF5 while they figure out the disaster that is 2042. Or open it up to the community to MOD and continue the journey.
That would be a Dream! Still playing this game on a regular base, it’s lot‘s of Fun in my opinion. If DICE would release new content for BFV, like eastern front, D-Day, Berlin and some famous „battlefields“ more, that would be awesome!
Honestly the absurd complexity of 2042 and it’s tone deaf voice lines pushed me back into BF1. I still think it’s one of the most artistic and respectful depictions of war to date while maintaining solid and simple gameplay.
@Buzás András I still do, played bf1 last night, the main map servers are usually populated, the dlc servers not so much but you might find a dlc server on rare occasions
@@pqoeuehsnskduxueownwudispwsn Sorry to bother you, but could you give me your friend code? I need more people to play with and I think we'd make a good team!
I've played every bf ever released, and I put less hours into V than any of them. Only took me 45 hours of gameplay before I decided to quit. With 2042, I put 150 hours in before I decided to try V again a few days ago. BFV, the one I thought I hated most, is SO MUCH MORE FUN than 2042!!! Everything about it is better, in every way. What a shame 2042 has turned out like this.
Jack i love watching your commentaries. Sometimes i dont even do my homework cause im watching your vids. And im happy you're playing bf5 again. I really liked bf5 even though alot of people didnt.
@@rambo-cambo3581 okay keep living in dream world lol. Look back at the pre-release of BF5, they were supposed to do live service along the real timeline of the war. There's still an extreme lack of content in BF5 compared to the battlefields before it.
Because compared to past battlefields, it lacks the core of the battlefield experience, with updates and more content it has become a pretty decent game, and when compared to 2042, it is marginally better.
@@XRazorKillerX you never know, dice could dig bf2042 out of its grave and make it a masterpiece. they've done it before with bf5, battlefront 2 so im hoping they can do it again
I still can't get over that Dice, cut working on this, to put extra work on the new BF, only to produce a product which is much worse and no where near complete. It generally saddens me, especially that the Pacific DLC was regarded as a positive step in the right direction for BFV.
You really begin to appreciate the gameplay mechanics of this game, when you jump back into BF1 and feel like you're running around with cement boots on.
@@tronalddumper ok, but this is battlefield (an arcade shooter). If I want realism there's plenty of shooters for this (hell let loose, squad, post scriptum, enlisted, etx). It also doesn't make sense for Japanese to have German guns in WW2, but this is an arcade shooter so who cares?
Teaser trailer, Marketing, Lack of content, Does a fuck you to the deluxe edition players and tells the whole community "Don't like it, don't buy it" and saying we are uneducated
The one and only thing that ruined Battlefield V for me was the hackers. That's all. Everything else, I think the game was pretty well done and very fun to play. I always perceived that most people didn't like this game, which is a shame. Then BF2042 came and, well, we gotta wait until it's done to play it.
For me it was just that I reached max level a few months in, stopped playing and then they added more levels and increased the XP gain so it feels like worthless.
Ive never met a hacker in my life on bf5. 500+hrs here so far. I play on playstation. Been having fun so far now lvl 180.. gonna reach lvl 500 one day!
The way you said that makes it feel like every match had a hacker. I only encountered 3 matches with hackers since launch. That was the spot everyone hack.
@@boogywumpy on pc its a REALLY big problem; it feels like dice doesnt even care about us tbh; thats the only thing i miss about console; gl on 500! :D
@@diegonwilmot7740 thats part of the reason why i moved to console. Was a big fps player on pc years ago then hackers started swarming. I moved to console. Zero so far. Thanks!
I’m sick of people heavily criticizing the battlefield titles just to come back to them after the next release and saying how great they were. We have a saying in the United States that says “keep that same energy” I understand 2042 has its flaws but I still enjoy playing the game
Jack I always fire up BF and run the same loadouts as you that you use in your videos. I’m new to BFV so I’m experimenting with all the weaponry, this one looks great
Always loved this game, ever since I preordered the game, only thing I didn’t like was the way the devs treated the game and the community. Battlefield deserves better!!
great vid Jack! Nice to see BF5 looking good. You should give Tenet a watch as well as he is good in that and it changed my mind about Robert Patinson as an actor
Just started playing this game , never played it until a few days ago after renting it from the library, bought it in amazon and waiting for it , I've got some fun gameplay up already !!! So fun
@@jacobconnell7191 agree with that but by then it was too late. I played in a team with about 20 members in BF3 and BF4, they removed the server rental program for BF1 and many players dropped off although a joined a new squad and played semi competitively still. BF5 basically killed the community and now when I log on to BF2042 I literally don’t have a single player on my friends list to play it with. It’s basically the only game I played and I’ve basically given up gaming now.
No they're not lmao. They're not even close to being better than the Bren or LS26. A simple case of "I had a few good games with these guns, they're the best ever."
@@TheFIghtin They literally are better than both of those guns you listed The Bren is definitely easier to control over the Bar and FG but the TTK on both the BAR and FG are much lower than the Bren. Comparable to the Type 2A
Just hopped on and started playing again this weekend, it really has aged well. Still a bit of growing pains they didn’t nail out before abandoning it (looking at you, 2-shot ZH), but that’s to be expected. You can tell they began to realize their ambience mistakes right at the end when they added the conquest-sized Provence map, the more realistic skins, the small clip at the beginning of the summer update trailer, even the new loading screen. It was just starting to become the atmospheric WW2 game we wanted from launch before they shut it down. Would love if they restarted support for BFV and put 2042 on the backburner until its actually ready.
Kinda wish more fans said this/stood up for it when BF5 was current lol! To be clear, Jack, I totally agree. I've enjoyed the hell out of BF5, especially lately, despite it having some issues/faults. Even though I also think we wear rose-colored lenses, ie; look back on things and remember them to be **maybe** a tad more fondly than is sometimes accurate, but at the same time - in contrast to 2042 - BF5 really does shine a bit brighter lately. I remember thinking this with BF3/4 as well
I kinda disagree with BF4. I mean after about a year to 1.5 years that game in my opinion was patched to perfection and I remember thinking that at the time as well. BF3 was also good but for me BF4 just had a higher fun factor and more fun maps.
Bf5 is still a shitshow imo. Attrition and visibility physically hurt (well, the visibility does, genuine eye strain cuz of that disaster, attrition just makes the game incredibly unfun, love having to look for health and die when I finally find it). This is just another case of the "well the current title sucks, so the previous title must be godlike" thing we had with BfV in 2018. The only difference being that Bf1 was actually a solid title on its own (and back then people who didn't like Bf1 said the same thing about Bf4, this goes on and on and on).
@@OnlyNeedJuan Exactly. Legitimate issues and criticisms aside, I just think it's funny how a game always seems better in hindsight is all lol! Like that expression: "Hindsight is always 20/20" 😂
Because there were and still are many things that imo make it pretty annoying. One of the most frustrating thing is the lack of auto balancing. You spend quite a lot of time to find a decently balanced lobby
Such a great game. Wish battlefield fans were more positive about it when it was still being supported. The core gameplay is the best in the series IMO.
There were very few things i disliked about this game. The biggest were the lack of maps and little amount of vehicles. Would have loved some Eastern Front, Italian, Indochina and more than 4 Pacific maps. And only other thing for me, and this isnt even really that big, was not faction locking weapons and special characters. I feel like the biggest thing this game never overcame was the fanbase. They would demand a change then when they got the change they wanted it reversed and repeated this vicious cycle.
The only thing that put me off were some of the ridiculous comedy skins broke immersion from it being a ww2 game and other things like using Japanese soldiers and weapons in the European maps and vice versa. I love this game .
Yeah, unfortunately sometimes the community is really toxic. And so the devs don't know how to expand a game, like BFV. However it is a great game, and still nowadays it is my favourite game which i play regulary with BF1, of course.
Well there's bf4 for you if u really itching to play a Modern shooter Some ppl like modern shooters, some ppl like ww2 gameplay, bf4 and bf5 are there to satisfy each type I play both, bf4 modern setting with assault rifles, fast modern tanks and bf5 with heavy tanks etc.
This is great; and good for those folks who like and enjoy playing this. I'm not gonna say they shouldn't do so. However, I do wanna say that the absolutely massive catastrophe of 2042 does not make a barely above mediocre game with its own array of issues a "fine wine"
BFV is B E A U T I F U L from the Gun Play to the Solider Movement to the BR (FireStorm) to the Co Op Missions & SO ON.. what a COMPLETE PACKAGE that never got the DLC & Love it NEEDED... 🍷 Here is to the Next BATTLEFIELD being FUN & GOOD LOOKING 🍷
(More effective with A lot of people strat) umm if ur ever going to do a community event u could get a 3 sitter bomber plane, and after that (on any map with bombers ofc) fly high over a line of tanks or a heavily defended objective (or anywhere) get a bunch of people to get in ur squad then spawn on ur bomber than get them to get out (then get them to go out of ur squad so new people can get in and then do whatever) and attack anything u want them to or take over a objective do whatever u want. (On Bf5 ofc)
Jack, I hope you realize that you could literally be a RU-vidr about anything. I don't even like Batman, but I'm going to give it a watch now. It's not even because I watch your gaming videos. It's your demeanor. You simply sound like a man that is trustworthy. Start a movie review channel and I bet it blows up!
The new Batman is sick i watched it on the Saturday of the 5th of march and its so dark but super cool. Ive been a fan jack for ages love your vids especially ur pubg ones keep it up mate. :)
