Battle mode really needs refining, but has a ton of potential in polished

Kroniid here, Imagine how much more insane that match would have been if the latency wasn’t a thing lmao. You got screwed by it a few times like with that shot that clearly hit me, and I got screwed by it many many times as well Imfao. I visibly freeze multiple times throughout this and there were many moments where I took damage then saw the shot that hit me several seconds later 😂 these matches are the most fun games ever tho bro

always love that feeling of a close match in any game, but this one really fills you with adrenaline

I'm nowhere near this level. One of the most interesting things i noticed was that you use destroyer blade instead of arbalest. Slayers at my level always use arbalest, and the demons tend to play way too aggressive, getting right up in the slayer's face.

I actually think i remember playing against you. i may have been a tad salty after that game cause that Percision bolt, ballista, percision bolt combo just does so much damage its insane.

Finally some matches where both the slayer and the demons are good. Thanks for proving the whiners wrong. Also, watching this I can tell that my many years of experience with dodging snipers in TF 2 is going to come in handy when I play demon :)

This is really fun to see these kind of matches. I think Battlemode will become way more fun when the matchmaking starts getting people of similar skill together more often.

Awesome gameplay. These matches are way above my skill level and it inspires me to improve my own gameplay. You said you don't like the dash or grenade upgrades, but I actually prefer those. Regular dash recharge feels painfully slow, and I like the extra grenades because I use them frequently to great effect. Stack double down with bigger boom for the 3rd upgrade and you can just destroy their health bars in those close quarters fights. Many times watching you play, I'm thinking I would've dropped a grenade there, and in this other situation I would've dropped one there. But you didn't and you still got the job done using your guns instead. I can't count the number of times I have obliterated player controlled demons with double down and bigger boom stacked. That's four grenades that can be dropped in seconds, each with a bigger payload than usual and with the potential to spawn cluster bombs from demons killed in the blast for even more explosions in the area. Any demon caught in that is dead no matter how much health they have. Get in close, unleash with the chaingun energy shield to protect yourself (especially from Mancubas flames) and simultaneously bombs away!

Not even 10 seconds in the first match Tomatrix bitch slaps an imp. This was the high skilled gameplay I subscribed for.

Not sure if I'm gonna play this very much until latency issues gets fixed. Cacodemon orbs were floating in the air, plus that unregistered Ballista shot at the end of one of these rounds kinda scares me. A super fast paced game like this needs to have latency issues fixed asap. Beautiful Destroyer blade btw 35:00.

Jeez those matches looked intense yet so much fun. I play doom eternal on console and main the marauder so seeing that guy play him was super interesting. I personally think that they should give the marauder a buff to where he is more similar to the campaign. I feel like the online battle-mode version is soooo different because he is heavily team oriented (which i know it’s supposed to be but hear me out) and can’t 1v1 the slayer. To me that’s horrible because there a lot of times where your teammate isn’t really good and ends up dying way too much or quick which leads to situations where as we see in the video to the marauder running away in hopes to buy time for his buddy to come back. That would be easily fixed if had his shield and was actually able to swing his axe like in the game. I’m the type of marauder that enjoys getting in the slayers face and play aggressive by chasing him down. So it would be nice if we didn’t have to run away when we see our teammate die and or get ignored like how tomatrix was doing by putting pressure on the other demon instead of the marauder. It defeats his whole purpose of having the slayers attention or putting pressure on him.

I play Slayer more than Demons in battlemode. It is good fun, and I love it. I win most of my matches. It never once occurred to me that you could switch mods mid match. Everything is different now.

Dude, the dashing in the beginning of this video is an exact reason how broken it is though, like you literally get caught up on nothing when you dash away from demons.

This gamemode looks awesome and all..... but we seriously couldn't get a deathmatch mode? Doom Eternal could've been THE game to revive the arena shooter genre. Doom 2016 multiplayer was alright but not as good as it could've been..... I feel like this game would've brought it to the maximum. just throw in all the same customization and a few of the same maps (the player customization and the map design was some of the best I've seen in a long time) and add a few tweaks to compliment the improved movement of this masterpiece and no doubt you will have one on the best arena shooters of all time. Not to say we wouldn't have to sacrifice the flame belch perhaps and maybe asingle dash to balance it out.... I think it can be done and done very well at that. Great gameplay though! Its really amazing to see this gamemode played to the highest degree. You've made a new fan of me for sure! Liked and Subscribed 😁👍

Game 4 had to be one of the best matches I’ve ever seen. I strive to play like this since I love playing as Slayer. I think I need to stop relying too heavily on lock on since it will lock onto ai demons or they turn a corner and boom. Either way, amazing games dude, keep em up.

I'm actually training with this mode by having V-sync on. I did the same in campaign and once I turned off V-sync i was insanely good lmao. I have to say though this multiplayer is honestly one of the most fun experiences I've had in a LONG time, i'm tired of battleroyale and war based objecteve shooters. This is old school PVP shooters at it's core and I love it more. I hope Battlemode goes strong.

For a low level like myself I've had matches like this but as a demon, I main summoner pain elemental and it's a bit challenging but that's what it's all about. One time I was paired up with a high level either marauder or manccubus and it was intense and by far my longest game as it was neck and neck and was 2 v 2 match by the last round and if I remember correctly me and my team had just pulled through to win

That was some sick skills on both sides

As someone who has beaten the game on nightmare without any upgrades I once got completely whooped by two demons with the ultra nightmare title using the spot revenant skin and the marauder tier 8 skin Truly terrifying sight Oh yeah one was level 124 and the other 98
