I’m surprised I didn’t find this guide until now! You provided some really good insight man. I’m like, REALLY bad at playing a demon, and hope that I can overcome the learning curve soon! As fun as the slayer is, you literally spend the entire campaign playing as him and getting experience. It’s more enjoyable to be on the other side for a change.

I saw this at about 2 AM of the day this comment is posted. I then went online because I was in the mood to play Battlemode. Guess who saw korean_jesus? Guess who lost to the Mancubus again?

You can actually totally push even a full health mancubus. Use the minigun with the shield attachment, get in the mancubus's face, pop the shield, and fry him without taking any damage from the flame throwers, the shield absorbs it all. I'm frankly shocked that nobody uses this tactic.

This is really good footage because it shows successful play in matchmaking queue and in real time. Good job explaining pertinent information and staying on topic during and between matches.

Yeah Mancubus slays. Personally I believe the Pain Elemental is the best demon, most versatile. Marauder blows tbh, good when you combo all of his damage reduction options, but just a rushdown character honestly, would be better if his dog tracked the Slayer from anywhere in the map

You've got this shit down dude. After I watched your slayer guide I went on a 5 game win streak with him. I'm gonna try out Mancubus next. I played Marauder with my buddy who played a pain elemental and we won like 25 games in a row last night. Marauder is super fun

I love using the smoke bomb speed boost with the speed boost from the loadout, they stack, it’s crazy fun and fast

That Arch was amazingly good at his job, it's a tricky class to use. Bigger bar and hot like fire works pretty well if the other demon is pushing the slayer around, you won't need the speed as much. Some of the more mobile slayers are hard to deal with though, especially with a more open map

Mancubus is my second favorite after Marauder - despite being so fat and big, he's the best when playing stealthy.

Man, I love your channel and I love Battlemode.

Me and friend were playing mancubus + archvile combo. Our strat was that im as mancubus hunting down the slayer, meanwhile friend is camping the portal in order to place the flame shield which prevents slayer from escaping. Then we trap him by cutting off all escape routes by spamming demons and blocking with our bodies. We mostly won against noobs and decent slayers, sometimes even against really good one's.

Man this guide is still pretty good even today. Although the slayers have gotten smarter so most of the time Mancubus is their main target. Also in my opinion penance and celestial are two maps where mancubus absolutely shines since the maps are small and claustrophobic.

Just a tip the mancubis fire ball does 20-30 damage and almost 45 with broiling heat and if you get really good at direct hitting the slayer you can also destroy him at long range also it has huge splash damage

That EXACT thing happened to me today. I was slayer with the same demons on that map. Mancubus was on the map but Marauder was stuck under the map. Weird glitch. 21:36

I like using mancubus to prevent slayers from finishing off my teammate by cutting them off with the flamethrower or by just being with them, slayers can’t approach easily when a mancu is nearby

I was 32 win streak Archvile then lost against a slayer who dominated 2 games. Switched to mancubas and friends eyeball boi and we dominated and the guy left instantly

"If you summon a demon that is already on the map, the previous one dies and drops a lot of loot". RIP me just thinking back over every game ive played trying to learn demons recently.

Dont actually feel like focusing the mancubus as a slayer is realy the best way. Like you said, the mancubus is heavily dependant on the team mate. So what i usually do is keeping an eye on the mancubus, always staying out of range and mostely focusing the other demon down so the mancubus isnt so dangerous anymore. Obviously it depends on what the other demon picks. While i would always go for Archvile first if possible (since he can trap you for the mancubus if youre not carefull), if a marrauder is chasing me i dont actually have a problem focusing the mancubus instead. Either way, the moste important thing when fighting against a mancubus player is to ALWAYS have an eye on him.

I too encountered the fall through the map bug (ps4 tho). Oddly the only time it happened it happened every round that game.

I personally just like mancubus BC I love tank builds in any game plus who doesn't want to play as a massive chubby thing with arm cannons? But also from day one of me trying him out I found out the flamethrowers were OP and loved to trap the slayer in a corner with demons everywhere and then just blast them with it while having a tank build so I'd go for theiveing hands,bigger bar and then either instant res BC its hard to escape getting chased down like you said or baron of hell BC they get pretty annoying and do considerable damage if they run into it.

Well to be fair the archville was good, exceptionally good xD. Archvilles never lasts that long in life haha but, he was really good at putting up firewalls and dealing damage.

Ohh that glitch happened in one game, i was the Slayer so I gived up since I cannot win because the Marauder was unreachable.

*laughs in sticky bombs*

Mancubus seems like a good early meta demon that counters over-aggressive play, but will crumble as people learn to play more patiently and optimize their dps. His only way to avoid damage is to pop smoke and waddle away, and it's super easy to just throw a nade and rocket into the smoke for free damage. Nothing like Marauder damage resistance, Archvile flame wall, or Pain Elemental soul shield. He's also probably the worst demon in 1v1 scenarios except for maybe Pain Elemental, since he can't run away and ssg ballista quickswitch will usually kill him before flamethrower kills Slayer at point blank. He also is bad at protecting his teammate since he's so slow, so you can't separate for fear of getting caught out. I just don't see how he deals with the strategy of sniping him down to at most half health, catching his teammate and deleting them, and then rushing down the Mancubus for free.

i always thought that the mancubus was asking to be shot with the ssg-balista quick switch. and i still think that. as a slayer, i always rush him and blast him with everything i have

Do you play Doom 2016 under the same name? Yesterday I was losing match after match against a team composed of at least 3 level 11-50 players, plus Tomatrix and Zanarathaz, though these two weren't leveled up to 11-50. If it was really you, then I understand why though, you are both getting acknowledgement in the Doom / Doom Eternal scene.
