I love how the first bar of the melody is in the major scale and then it switches to Phrygian dominant which creates this majestic contrast between brightness and darkness

This song always made me imagine a command centre controlling the battlerock/dreadnought as they watch and try to send obstacles to stop Mario from stealing their power star.
That is a perfect way to describe that! I always pictured it as a giant armored labyrinth trying to trip you up, but it’s def cooler to think of there being a command center for it. Makes this soundtrack even better! 😁
This track is the perfect mix of calm/soothing, and suspense. I like what a commenter on another uploaders channel said, one word to describe this track would be “determination”.
I had never played Mario Galaxy until recently when they released the anniversary pack with all of the main Mario games included. My girlfriend told me she had spent hundreds of hours playing it because it was one of the only games she had and was allowed to play by her siblings without them taking away the controller or the console itself. I remember playing this game and being totally blown away. I was especially blown away by this track for some reason. Something about it feels like...Going on an epic adventure, and as you're running and jumping it's just getting more and more intense but you stay brave & endure. Kind of reminds me of her I guess.
I agree. I've heard of this game but never played it and I, like you, played the anniversary pack. Galaxy remains my favorite Mario game because of its stellar imagination, design, but the music is the one that really does it for me. To have a full symphonic orchestra capture the magic and danger of different worlds is ingenious.
This was my first introduction to 3d video games with joystick controls and I remember just hating how confusing it seemed until one day one of my brother’s friends came over to help walk him through it and as I sat there watching him play I was absolutely blown away so one day after school I decided to give it another chance and I actually really loved it and would spend hours grinding away at each level until I got those stars and eventually beat it. Sadly though our friend took his own life 7 years ago and this game will always remind me of how he turned me into the gamer I am today

this game is surely one of the best ever. the levels and mechanics just ooze with fun. you can feel the developers thinking: wait a minute, im even getting paid to do this shit! ;)

It was definitely inspired by Gustav Holst - Mars, which sounds kind of like something you would play over a war. It’s definitely on purpose, since Mars was the Roman god of war

This song always reminds me of the song Mars by Gustav Holst for some reason. They both give off the “big space” feeling by using all the real orchestral instruments. It’s just so amazing!

It's funny how much this and egg rock zone from srb2 are similar in theme, though one strives for orchestral music while the other goes for rock... on a floating rock... amazing.
@@KierStarmer Nothings wrong with the game. Fans of JOTAH keep bargaining the original setting of the music and keep milking the roblox game saying things like "JoTaH!!!!" and it gets pretty annoying.
