Even the new Cylons are in confusion, they're just switched on without knowing their original programming; the fun is in the learning. That's all you get today
Well, you have seen the tomb of one of the gods of Kobol, Athena, back in season 2. Do you believe she was a true god? If you say no, then you have to explain what happened postulating she had access to a technology far beyond the level both Humans and Cylons can imagine, to the point it seems magic to them. I leave to you appreciating the implications of that, and how it is related to your question about the presence of a true god in the BG universe. That said, you may understand a little bit more after watching this season, so I would not add any spoiler.
The 4/5 of the Final Five only know that they're artificial lifeforms. They still don't know their origin, where they were created, why they were created; or why their "fellow" Cylons were so totally clueless! Like -- why would Cavil torture Tigh, a special fellow Cylon? I'm looking forward to your reactions going forward. Btw, when is Earth really "Earth"? Maybe relevant, maybe not: just something for you to ponder!
I always was iffy on the opening "trick" scene with Tigh and Adama. Felt like a cheap way to trick the audience with shock value, showing something that never happened.
