Nice! I doubt I'll play it, but might revisit the DVD's, Helfer... oohh.. and I loved that the reboot had Hatch and Benedict cameos. And Olmos... Legend "Monsieur, azonnal kövessen engem bitte." (not in BSG but best delivery of his life).
I have this and all three expansions. Never played them because the base game is great without them. Love the channel. I have to say that because i dont want to be at the bottom of a river in concrete shoes. 😅
You're right it's a really good game and has stood the test of time. However, you could probably buy 4 or 5 really good games for the current price so I tend to agree with your conclusions. Keep up the good work.
I had this game and the Pegasus Expansion. Very good game with an excellent tie-in to the TV show. As you say, its chief downside was that it was just too long and that, to some degree, killed the overall tension of the game as it could just begin to drag for me. In the end, and by virtue of spiraling second hand values, I sold it to fund my new game addiction. Interestingly, FFG are releasing the game Unfathomable shortly. This is rumored to utilize a streamlined version of the BSG mechanics. Unfortunately, it's also leaning into that Cthulhu mythos (because FFG can never flog that dead horse too much - and this one they are dragging out of the glue factory to give another good beating to), so this may not be one that butters your parsnips.

First up, a great job on the pasteup. I have done many a pasteup and they generally resemble toilet paper, and not the unused kind. Dang, now I want to dig out my copy and arrange a game. Or sell it for - did you say 400 quid?? That is just stoopid. I think I could handle a game, length and all. BSG is still the best of its kind, don’t bother with the expansions though. Inching towards 6K subs. Any plans for new content after Freedom Day?
I’d heard good things about this game - but it was a little too much to remember for me. I recently purchased Waste Knights instead - absolutely great if you like Mad Max / Fallout!
I've tried playing this a couple times. Each time it was a bust, the Cylons somehow mucked everything up; they didn't win, other players either wanted to be Cylons or accidentally thought they were Cylons, or ... I don't know what happened, but the people leading/teaching the game got to a point where they somehow realized that the game was borked and said we couldn't sort it out and just had to dump it. I don't know if it's the fandom that drives this or what, but I couldn't see the appeal of it and the game itself ... just runs like crap. But I've heard that Shadows Over Camelot was pretty good. Fantasy Flight Games are horrible. They're not really interested in putting out a god game, they're more interested in reimplementing old games (for better or worse -- for worse, in the case of Mansions of Madness) to generate more sales and then producing endless expansions (of often questionable value) solely to sell more and more crap for as much as they can milk their fanboi base for.
