I really like how this longplayer seems to enjoy beating the game! Anticipating every cheating move, finishing enemies theatrically and effectively, humbling bosses! Great stuff all around!
MUCH preferred Battletoads as a straight out brawler than as the drawn out reflex trials that the main line console games were presented as. Its bizarre that the BT original creators couldnt suss out how the difficulty curve of those games kept the franchise from becoming so much more popular than it could have been
I say the same thing about it needing to stay a brawler on consoles and people look at me funny. Only the first few levels of any console Battletoads was fun for me. Then they start throwing you into weird situations that arent brawling.
We had a tiny arcade in the Pizza Ranch in my hometown. They had an arcade cabinet of this game! I remember only playing the first half of the first level, cuz killing the rat characters made me scared of playing any further. Plus I died a lot.
@@MarcSola7 I know Rash is in KI already but I said SSBU, I'm thinking Zitz hes stronger than Rash and faster than Pimple and he had multiple skin colors too.
RARE WARE FALTA LA SECUELA DE ESTE JUEGO PARA ARCADE CON FICHAS POR FAVOR ! [NO CAMBIE EL TIPO DE DIBUJO Y QUE SEA EN CEL SHADING] QUE SEA 4 VECES MAS LARGO QUE ESTE ORIGINAL Y LO MAS NOVEDOSO QUE AHORA SEAN 12 RANAS EN ACCION PARA 12 JUGADORES, INVENTE OTROS 9 SAPOS, FALTA EL NIVEL DE LAS MOTOS BIEN DIFICIL PERO CON PERCEPCION LATERAL NO FRONTAL
To be honest, comparing with NES games - Battletoads and Battletoads & Double Dragon - other two - Battletoads in Battlemaniacs and this one - look like a poor excuse of the series title. Battletoads and Battletoads & DD both have unique style and genres variety: beat'em'up, platformer, scroller, etc. But Battlemaniacs... I barely can call it a separate game: it is literally the first game with improved graphics, slighty changed level design, and A LOT OF MISSING STUFF OF THE FIRST GAME. Even the plot is almost the same. Oh, yeah, they included that "bonus" level. And not once, but twice. It surely required a lot of creativity. (No.) In this regard, this game - Battletoads Arcade - looks much better: it looks like a different game at least. It has higher violence level, which surprised me at first, some moments are pretty funny, like the boss of the stage 1 or this grab of attacks - 14:07 - but in general the game is pretty meh. Looking at the final stage, I can see that they tried to add some variety, but still. In fact, it is just an average beat'em'up like the games of the TMNT series. Battletoads supposed to be different from them, no? And they really were different... when they were NES games. The plot... Aside the ending, I don't see any story there at all. And I can't even figure out: how toads moved from a spaceship to an ice cave to some spaceship again and then to some tunnel... Well, at least music is really cool, there is no doubts.
