The same for me. Me and my friend never beat this level. It's insane. It's quite sad the game was so freaking hard. The three first levels were really good.
Damn right. I actually enjoy the music of this version over the original NES. The music for the speed section of the Turbo Tunnel and for the Clinger Winger are much catchier on that old Yamaha FM synth.
I remember this well. There was really no way to get this done without your handy issue of Nintendo Power magazine, which helped you memorize the order of the pylons. There's also a warp in this level which skips straight to the power plant.
holy crap i haven't even played this game but what the hell this looks like such a hard level by the looks of it, I can beat it in 3 months of playing.
***** If I remember correctly that's because the NES version has a bug for US NTSC versions. Basically the game was made for PAL systems and the US version was released with nothing to compensate for this. So the NES version is actually running 17% faster than it should be. The Japanese Famicom release and the Genesis version correct this.
The Mega Drive version is just like the Japanese Famicom Version because they are both easier than the US/PAL NES Versions and there is no Level 11 Glitch.
Yeah, it's the best feeling ever to finish this level. I do think that it's not the hardest level in videogame history (and people say so because they never beat the level themselves) it just apears too early in the game to give it a good difficulty curve and that's why most people give up from there
@damprumpan yeah, he rocks! I died like 50 times in this level when i was a kid. then i gave this game up. shame that this was actually an interesting game, at least up till this level.
