Perseverance my man. Congrats. I got this game in 92 or 93 and it took me like three weeks of trying every day after school before I got through it. I got in trouble a lot for swearing at this and little nemo.
The last segment of the turbo tunnel substantially raises my heart rate watching it. I truly believe a portion of the population simply isn’t quick enough to get through this level. Like the last segment is litterlly impossible for half the population. I got to where I could do the first four segments flawlessly and just could not beat the final segment. I think I did so once.
Haha, I know what you mean, this level a huge barrier for most people to beat. I was convinced for years that I didn't have the reaction speed to do it, but at one point I kept trying and trying and eventually I realized that you don't actually have to press up and down all the much to dodge the walls. If you can get into a rhythm of moving just barely out of the way of each wall it's actually not that bad.
i remember as a kid figuring out you have to basically barely move in each direction. You mostly stay in the middle and just skim by the walls on each side as you go up and down a bit.
when I was a kid I remember that my parents where impressed after finished that part. But I must say that It's not the most difficult thing in the game.
So in the tunnel with the vines you can get a bunch of 1-ups if you bounce the mobs(badies) against the wall. You have to continually bounce one but you'll get the ups.
At first i didn't understand why people called this one of the most difficult levels in video game history. 30 secons into the video and i understand everything
I feel that last jumping on the island parts is unfair. My guy was clearly on the land. Even with rare replay rewind he just falls right through. Ik it's fast and not easy and thats fine, but it also makes no sense. Idk what determines him landing or falling through. Visually they look the same for either outcome.
How...... I mean I played this when it came out and for 30 years never been able to get past that. I dont understand how to get the height on the ramps.
Your instincts tell you to pull back as you go over the ramp so you don't nail the wall when you land. Just let the froggy fly when he goes off the ramp and pull back the very second you hit the ground.
Ive heard horror stories of this game and particularly this level, and while it seems tedious, i could could beat this level in probably less than 30 min. There are well aimed falls in Dark Souls that are harder than this.
So youve never played it? 😂 Dark Souls has nothing on this. At least in DS you always start at a checkpoint. You die 3 times in this and it’s back to the beginning of the game. Then you have to remember all you learned when you get there in hopes of getting a little further to piece together everything.
I played this level on the Rare Replay for Xbox. I honestly think the difficulty on this level is overrated. I still haven't beat it yet but I got pretty far on it my first try. I got as far as the last bit where the game doesn't tell you what's coming. I would say if you have the reflexes and precision needed. You can beat this level.
